Really Want to Test How Good a Gamer You Are?

Then you need to pick up Super C, because of all the Contra games, I still find this to be the hardest of the lot. However, Super C is a game where you can't wimp out. Much like the first Contra, it takes practice to learn. However, as far as advancing the series goes, Super C does it in the way a game ought to do it. It keeps the same basic gameplay, but it throws in new enemies, harder levels and different level designs. Simply put, mastering the first Contra doesn't give you an edge in Super C.

There are eight levels in the game, and it works exactly as the first Contra did in this respect. You will go through, running and gunning through tons of enemies. You'll find many weapons for you to use. They all come from the previous Contra game. You'll find a machine gun, flame thrower (there are two types this time), laser and the Spread Gun. Again, as any Contra veteran can tell you, the Spread Gun is perhaps the best weapon you could hope to get. Strong, and can hit just about anything.

What makes Super C much harder than the first Contra game is simply that there is more stuff that comes at you. More enemies, and more gun shots to avoid. Combine that with the fact that the Classic Konami code DOES NOT work with this game. One hit, you're dead, and you've only got two lives to start with. You earn more by scoring lots of points, but with bosses that are much more difficult in scope and enemies that take a lot more time to predict, Super C will have you dying of frustration (perhaps even literally).

Super C does two player co-op exactly as the first one did it. Again, there are few games that do two player co-op better than the Contra series. Super C is no exception.

The music, while not better than the first Contra, is still fantastic. Graphic wise it's also better than the first Contra. It uses the same sprites but the environments are far more detailed. Allowing for more populated levels.

Old school gaming almost doesn't get any better.

This game was really hard. SUPER C? Try to Super Difficult! The transition from the original CONTRA was just way too hard. Granted yes, the original CONTRA was a bit easier (trust me I know because I beat it within a few days). But SUPER C, let's face it this was a tough game and a hard transition at first.

I will admit, this is a good game if you're looking for a much more difficult, harder edge kind of game. This game really made you work for it (like how CASTLEVANIA did). SO if you're looking for a tough game, check out SUPER C. If you're looking for a more fun game that you win at, check out the original CONTRA, DOUBLE DRAGON and of course the MARIO series.

The best Contra game

Super C is one of the best(if not the best) Contra games. You play as a commando blasting through stages, collecting all kinds of weapon powerups. The Spreader(S)weapon is always the best. This game is very fun. I can make it through about 3 or 4 levels without losing a life(1 hit kills you).The levels are all very big and they are full of enemies. The best part about this game has got to be the bosses. They were all big and hard(but most of them can be killed easily with the spreader). Overall, this is a fun game that has a good life span. Reccomended!

Contra is back...and this time its Super Contra!

I played contra a LONG time ago when i was like 5 with my friend when he had atleast 20 nes games (i have around 20 but he had more than me!) and i was the red guy aka scorpion (how do i know his name? read to find out) while my friend was mad dog an well we sucked BUT our baby sitter he knew cheats for contra so we had 30 lives an beat it.....5 years later (2002) i got contra AND Operation Contra (awsome gameboy game) and i beat contra because im the type of (not meaning to brag) guy who has hand eye skills and its an easy game but my friends couldnt beat it unless they had 30 live cheat an thats the only way they would play with me (losers). later i won contra 2 aka super C(ontra) off ebay easily w/ box an instructions (i heard of this game cuz my OTHER friend; one of the loser friends on contra got super c an couldnt beat lvl1 an i came over an beat it on my third try!) anywho i got it beat it bribed my friends to play an they said no cuz no 30 live cheat only 10 (losers)

thats my friggin long story now about the game, they changed the flamethrower gun (the F gun) better an made lvls harder (i HATE lvl4 an 7) but its really fun altho contra games like these r hard to get, i suggest u get it cuz if u suck, practice, thats how i got really good at it (an experiance from contra)!

I got contra III: the alien wars (snes).....but thats a different story.....

You want to know what I don't get, people say that this game is really hard, the truth is its not,I beat this game over 5 times so cut the drama. I think the reason is that you don't have the right controller or you just suck at this game. If your using the small controller thats shaped like a rectangle than your screwed but if you use the arcade control, the one that has the slow button and the button that gives you rapid fire in shooting games then SUPER C will be a piece of cake. One person thought that CONTRA is more fun then Super C just because its so very easy, the thing is CONTRA is way to easy like it could take you about an hour half to beat, not kidding. Remember Super C is not impossible to beat just make sure you got the right control alright. Keep in mind Super C beats Contra by a long shot, no doubt.

This game is the sequal to contra. In my opinion, this game is better than contra 3. So much action in this game. You have to have great reflexes to beat it and having a partner is highly recommended. This game is perfect for regular gamers and collectors.

The game was the end all be all game for the bloodthirsty child or even adult out there. it had every aspect of a shooter in it, and even exploits that only a true player could find out. it was a good balance of regular contra and their new added things. Despite the fact that area 2 and 4 have now become birds-eyed view levels, it still can compete with the original game when it came to fun and difficulty. Super C is a great game for the adult who wants to relive their childhood, or for the kid who wants to play something "retro" or non 3-d type game
