Great Game

If you're looking for something a little different, and enjoy mystery books and movies then this game is for you. I'm all about funny mystery books like the Evanovich series so having this as my first DS game was a great start. Don't get me wrong i love the Sims, Zelda and other classics but somtimes you want something more. The characters are fun and pretty in depth. The cases aren't insanely hard but just enough to make you say," Why didn't I realize that 10min. ago?" I ended up purchasing this game due to the great reviews everyone else had so thanks for the truthfull responses and I hop this review helps someone else make a choice.

The game starts off fast and fun, but quickly hits a bump by the second case and greatly slows down. A little boring and repetitive after that, but not a bad game overall.

Ace Attorney 2 Justice for All, the sequel to Ace Attorney. I hope I didn't lose anyone yet. This game game is more challenging then the first. It requires use of your mind and a little common sense to get through. The plot and the funny cast of characters will keep you hooked and wanting more even when you finish the game.

A slight step in the wrong direction from the first in the series, but still a valued glimpse at the defense.

While not mandatory, it is highly recommended that the original Ace Attorney is completed prior to starting Justice for All. Justice finds the return of our investigative hero Phoenix Wright to the courtroom. While still a good game in it's own right, it feels to almost be a minor step backwards. The cases are still just as good and intriguing as the original Ace Attorney, unfortunately, that is where the similarities to the first game end. Justice does introduce a few new characters, including Maya's cousin Pearl and Pearl's mother Morgan, who are introduced in a case in which Maya is accused of murder while trying to channel a spirit, and Franziska von Karma, daughter of legendary prosecutor Manfred von Karma who (spolier alert ... I told you to play the original Ace Attorney first ...) unsuccessfully attempted to frame Miles Edgeworth for a murder in a case linked to the DL-6 Incident, only to have the truth come out that Manfred was the real murderer in both cases. Franziska, a 14-year old prodigy of an attorney out of Germany, has made her way to the courtroom with the sole purpose of embarrassing Wright in court. The game also features the return of a character who has a bit of a surprise in store for Wright in the courtroom, but what fun would it be if I ruined it for you?

As mentioned, I felt this game to be a bit of a setp in the wrong direction. While the gameplay delivers the same intensity of the cases of the original, the DS-specific funtions (testing for blood and fingerprints) previously introduced have not returned. While the sound and music is of the same quality, the graphics, while still pretty to look at, simply feel recycled and the value of the game is undermined by the fact that only the four cases were included. While this might still be a nice package, it feels short-changed because the original Ace Attorney had an additional case. It is understandable that the original cases did not include the DS functions because, like the first Ace Attorney, this is a GameBoy Advance port. However, it was nice to have that additonal case made specifically for the DS in the first installment. That being said, one positive about the game is the inclusion of Mya Fey's mysterious Magatama, a spiritual medallion that, once gifted to Wright, allows him to tell when people are hiding information from him (although it's only useable during the investiagtion phase). Once Phoenix is alerted by the Magatama, he delvs deeper to try to discover the information that the witness wants to keep secret. He can do this by presenting evidence that contradicts the excuses that the witness comes up with.

While still wanting to review the game in it's own right, I felt that the comparisons made in this review were necessary because the game felt shortchanged in more ways than one. Overall, this is still a welcome addition to the Phoenix Wright series and an absolute can't-miss if you enjoyed the first one.

I bought this game after playing, and loving the first phoenix wright game, and I'm a little dissapointed. Where the first game was clever and required some thinking, this game is mostly just frusterating. I often find myself having no idea what to do, and just randomly presenting evidence until I find the right item. When I do find the right piece of evidence, it sometimes doesn't make any sense, and there's no way to have known the right thing to do without guessing. That issue aside, it's still a pretty fun game. The new psyche-lock feature adds a new challenge and is very entertaining. The stories are just as ridiculous as before, and I've had a good time playing it. I wouldn't reccomend this game for someone who hasn't played the original phoenix wright, but if you love the series then you'll have a good time.

Good times!

This game has had me addicted since I first put it in my ds. It's filled with a catchy story line and very interesting and humorous characters. I've laughed out loud several times while I've been playing it. I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoys puzzle games.

A good game, but...

Before you play this game, I highly recommend attempting to find a copy of the first game. This game DOES explain how the game's court system works, and you get an idea of what happened in the first game, but it's best to play the first game in order to fully appreciate it.
As for the game itself, there are 4 cases instead of 5 in this game- which left me feeling a bit ripped off, as one of the 4 cases is incredibly short, and one does nothing for the story. However, the second case alone makes this game worthwhile(for this price, anyway.)
Even with the lack of a case, and two.. not so good cases, this game is worthwhile to play. It is still fun, and, of course, the cases always leave you guessing until the end. I recommend it, but play the first one first.

I purchased this game out of curiousity; a friend of mine had previously bought one of the Ace Attorney games (and refused to let me play his), so I was very much hoping the game would be worth the money spent.

It very much is! With several different cases to think through (none of them short in the least), lovable and unforgettable characters, and occasionally the giggle-inducing comment from one forgetful judge, "Justice for All" kept me playing for hours, and even days, on end.

Love the series!

Great game, the last case was kind of hard at least for me so I had to cheat a couple of times, the psyche lock does not bother me so much but sometimes you really have to search deep to unlock them. Great game, really recoment it for people that like to solve mysteries.

Did not disappoint!!

Oh, I don't even know where to start! This game was marvelous, or, as Max Galactica would put it, FABULOUS!! ;) Well first of all let me tell you why I even got this game. I received the first Phoenix Wirght game for my birthday from a friend who said he had enjoyed it very much. I was skeptical, as I had never played a game about law of all things, but I decided to give it a try anyway. And of course, I ended up falling in love with it, and as soon as I found out there was going to be a sequel, I knew I had to buy it! So this game once again follows the story of Phoenix, Maya, and all of your other favorite characters, including some new ones, namely Franziska the female prosecutor, who is your main rival for a good deal of the game, and Pearl, Maya's cute little cousin. There is so much intrigue and suspense in every case, and the thing that pleased me the most was the TWISTS!!! Yes, twists, the most thrilling part of it all! Of course, you'll have to play this to see what I mean, and man is it worth it! And while there are only 4 cases to solve rather than 5, each one is still satisfyingly long, and the awesomeness of the game overall makes up for it anyway! Now you're getting this from a not-so-huge gamer who has greatly enjoyed games such as Kingdom Hearts, Harvest Moon, and Final Fantasy, and this series is definitely one of my favorites! If you liked the first Phoenix Wright, you will LOVE this one! Heh, in my opinion, this one's even a little bit better than the one before it!
