not bad if you like high score games

If you found Yoshi Touch & Go lacking, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. This is another one of those games that many like to call "tech demos" -- simple games with no story (or a REALLY simple one) and a major emphasis of improving your high score.

In Pac-Pix, you draw a Pac Man (with your "magic pen") to get rid of all the ghosts on the level. Each level is a page in a chapter, and there are 12 chapters in all.

It's a pretty short game, but there are a few unlockable extras (cards) and improving your high score is a fun pick-up-and-play kind of thing. Also, the levels do progressively get harder -- soon you'll be drawing arrows to deflect off mirrors and bombs.

It's a very creative game overall, and perfect fun for novice and expert gamers alike. Just be prepared for a very simple presentation, mediocre (but still nice) graphics, and being able to "beat it" in about a week.

Very Fun, wish it was longer

One of my favorite cartoons growing up (I cannot remember it's name) was one in which an old guy would draw things on a chalkboard and then they would come to life. This is sort of what happens in this game, and also a possible preview for future, more sophisticated DS games.

You are able to draw pacman (I love giving him a Simpsons look with an overbite)and then see your drawing come to life and start carpet munching. You then control the direction by drawing lines. The goal is to complete several stages that make up a chapter and beat your previous higher score. There are 12 chapters in all. This is such a fun game, that replay value is huge, as you can replay levels to constantly try to beat youor hight score. In a sense, it is like a racing game, as your have a time limit.

I have not played it enough to get to the levels in which you draw bombs or arrows, but am guess they are just as fun.

Overall, this is a unique and fun game that is well worth the price. I only wish they had 20 stages and not just 12. And it is also a very welcome addition to a very sparse and disapointing DS line up.

I'm not entirely sure why the Nintendo DS can't get very many decent games. Pac Pix is a VERY INNOVATIVE game, but the problem is in the gameplay. It's unique, and for that I gave it three stars instead of two. But it's repetative gameplay makes this less fun to play. Especially because it gets old real fast.

First of all, let me say this. It's really cool to draw your own pac-man and watch him chomp away at your enemies. It's also really cool to be able to guide him by drawing walls and such. Really, it's innovative stuff. You can also draw arrors to shoot at missiles that come raining down on you.

The problem is this kind of gameplay gets old really fast. There's not much of a story (as a previous reviewer already said, if you didn't like Yoshi Touch and Go, you won't like this game). The only point is to get a high score and beat the game. It's also really short. There's no point putting down thirty dollars for a game like this. It's way too short, with very little replay value.

Graphic wise, this game is actually kind of neat. I love the way Pac-man looks, and I like the soft booklike look this game has. It's rather nice to see. The music is mixed from previous pac-man titles (arcade mostly).

Seriously, this can be a fun game. The problem is, it's too repetative. Sometimes being repative isn't bad, but in this case it is. Especially because you don't do much of anything! Fire arrows and draw lines for pac-man to follow. That's about it, actually. There's no challenge to it either, and it's too short.

Don't spend your money on this game. It's really innovative, that's for damn sure. But don't go blowing your money on a game that's not a whole lot of fun after two hours.

A fun twist to the original Pac Man game.

I have been having a lot of fun with this game. It is very innovative and really utilizes the touch screen. I mean, how fun to draw your own Pac Man and watch it come to life to play the game with! The object of the game (yes, there is one contrary to what other people have said) is to fight the ghosts and turn them back into "ghost ink". They had invaded all the pictures and books, but Pac Man was able to conquer most of the ghosts with his "magic pen" and put the rest of them together in one last book. But before he could turn them back into ghost ink, they put a curse on him. Now he is in the paper and it is up to you and Pac Man, along with the "magic pen" (your stylus), to finish the job and save the last book. You go through the chapters of the book and each chapter has levels to where you have to eat all the ghosts in order to advance to the next level or chapter. As you advance you earn weapons to help you along the way. There are also other fun things involved in this game but I don't want to spoil it for the people who get it. My favorite part of the game (besides making your drawings come to life) is trying to beat the bosses at the end of each stage. My only gripe is that if you don't beat a boss, you have to go back to the beginning of that stage and do all the levels in that chapter again. But that I think is a minor thing. The game gets harder as you go on and there are new things added and more to do to keep you interested. I don't find this game boring at all and it keeps me real busy and interested. Overall, I think Pac Pix is a cool game and is worth getting. It even makes me laugh at times, like if I draw a really funny Pac Man or he goes the wrong way. I don't have any regrets with buying this game.

Terrible!!!!

Their are bad games, but this is just crazy. It's ridiculus. What's really cool about this game,is that people like it. I can't even draw Pacman! YOu have to be absoulute perfect with the drawing. Don't buy it,it's not worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Addictive, challenging, and fun

The title of my review pretty much sums it up. The game is totally addictive--even when you're frustrating, it's tough to put down. The challenge level is high--after you see the ending, you unlock another "book" (basically, another mode) that has the same levels, only harder. Plus, there are over a dozen "cards" to unlock, if you still crave more. And trust me, you will be. The fast-paced, touch-screen gameplay is great fun, and makes wonderful use of the DS capabilities. Also, both screens are used well (especially during the super-cool boss fights), and every "chapter" introduces new mechanics. Like WarioWare, this is a must-play for DS owners.

Hopless.

This game is awesome for those classic nintendo lovers. It brings back the old pac-man feeling and is a never-put-down-game-in-my-life game. I love the way it resembles the old pac-man games but also has a new kick in it, to since you can use the touch screen to conroll all of pac-man's movements. Be sure to get this game. Many reviews out there are very wrong. No offence, but u people who wrote bad reviews for this game, you dont know how to enjoy a simple classic game so why do u even bother getting it??? NEway, I reccomend this game for all, especially for thos classic nintendo lovers as I said earlier. Be sure to buy this game. Trust me, it is a must.
Thank you, and have a nice day :) :) :)

Great basic arcade-puzzling game

If you've got a DS and enjoy classic arcade style games, then be sure to give Pac Pix a try. You get to draw your very own pac-man and watch it gobble up ghosts!

Let me say first that this is a basic arcade game - it's NOT a game with complex soundtracks, with high quality anime fighting characters. If you're looking for shoot-em-up adventure, this just isn't it. It's more a complex puzzle game that gives you an artistic outlet. For me, this is just perfect.

In essence, you are drawing arcade weapons on the bottom part of your DS screen, to gather up goodies and eat up ghosts. You start with a pac-man. You can draw a big one that moves slowly, or a tiny one that moves super-quick. You can draw him with a big mouth or little. Whatever you draw, that's what takes off after the ghosts!

Now you draw lines to help your pac-creature move around. You can also draw arrows that fire off, bombs, and more. The puzzles grow more complex as you go - but part of the challenge here is to replay levels to try to do them as quickly as you can. This is where the puzzle-like aspect really comes in. Do you draw two tiny pac-creatures and try to keep them both going - or do you draw a larger one to eat all the ghosts in one pass? By knowing the order in which the ghosts come out, and their placement, you can plot to get them in the most efficient manner possible.

I will say that someone with poor coordination might have trouble making a pac-creature properly. You of course have to have a general circle shape with a mouth. But the game does start in beginner steps so that you can practice and learn how to use the stylus, in order to get the hang of this. Really, with so many DS games involving fine stylus control, think of this as a practice game, to get your skills built up!
