This game is one of the best for the playstation. It provides hours of gameplay and action, and will never get boring even AFTER you have beaten it once because there are different endings for any of the dozen characters you can beat it with. If you do, in fact, beat it with all the characters, the two player combat will still keep you entertained for days on end. At an affordable price of only 20 bucks, this game is a MUST HAVE for any Playstation enthusiast.

one of the best games on earth

Twisted Metal 2 is the best shooter/action game there is without a doubt and in my opinion, it's the best Playstation game I've played. It is A LOT better than all of the other Twisted Metal games. It has a lot of drivers to choose from, and TONS of secrets. There are secret moves, secret drivers, and even a few secret levels to keep the replay value up to the ceiling. Everything about the game is awesome, especially the control and fun factor. The only drawback might be that the graphics aren't the best in the world, but don't get me wrong, they're not bad either. But after playing a game this awesome, i don't see who could pay that much attention to the graphics.

If you get any of the Twisted Metal games, trust me, get this one.

The Greatest twisted metal game ever!

This is the best twisted metal game ever! Me, my family, and my friends love it. It has fantastic graphics, new challenges, and great realisticc backgrounds. This game includes many great cars including outlaw2, twister, axel, and warthog. It has new special combo attacks like freezing and slamming. This game unlike twisted metal1, has great advanced attacks (over 20) and excellent special weapons and pick-ups (including tornado spins, bulldozers, richochet bombs, and much more!).
This game has some of the best battlegrounds ever! Examples are Heavenly Honk Kong, Icy Antarctica, Nasty New York, and 5 other great levels. You can also play in 3 secret levels in 2-player mode! One of the best things about this game is the excellent choice of cars. You can defeat the enemies in 14 different cars. Does it sound good? Well, I don't know about you but I loooooooovvvvveeeeeeee it! You've got to buy it! ...

i'm aware that the game wasn't designed for the PS2, but why can't it work on it, like it was promised by sony?

This game kicks ass! When i first bought it i didnt really like it but my friends and i played the co-op alot. The grafics are good and the weapons are kick. There are plenty of cars to pick from. the reason i didnt give it 5 stars is because of 2 reasons.
1. Te cars are hard to stop i mean like when you go its almost inposible to stop in time. my friends and i got mad at that.
2. In co-op you have to have the dificulty on medium to beat it. If you put it on easy it will stop after you beat minuan.(i am not sure if you have to have it on medium to beat the 1 player.) All in all i think a twisted metal fan would like this game but if you have never played a twisted metal you should rent it first in case you dont like it.( i doubt you wont like it).

Still the same with improvements

If you didn't like the original Twisted Metal don't bother Reading this review -- nothing substantial has changed in the sequel. If you liked the original Twisted Metal don't bother reading this review either -- there's plenty of new cars and tracks in the sequel. If you don't fall into the above categories, read on. The Twisted Metal story is simple. Each year, a dozen-or-so misfits and malcontents meet for a battle royale in souped-up cars straight out of Death Race 2000. The last person alive gets any wish granted by Calypso, the man behind the Twisted Metal competition. Your job is to take control of one the these cars in a variety of locations and then blast your opponents to kingdom come. Graphically, the game is identical to the original Twisted Metal. On the plus side, the landscapes are richly detailed and the battlefields are complex. On the minus side, the texture-maps still look horrible up close and clipping and pop-in is still plentiful. The game also controls much the same as the original. This means you will eventually choose your ride based on a combination of 1) how cool it looks and 2) how often its handling doesn't make you want to throw your controller through the TV screen. This time around, there are plenty of tracks and a wider variety of vehicles. It appears that Single Trac listened to the folks on Usenet and included cool new cars like a hearse, a bulldozer and a grotesque man/car thing, Axel, that gives me the willies. Also new to this game are "special moves" that anyone can pull off. These include a freeze ray, a shield, and reverse weapons.
The game still shines in the two player mode. Life doesn't get much better than chasing your buddy around in a cop car and nailing him with a tazer. In fact, if you are into two-player games, there's no reason for you not to buy this game. Overall, Twisted Metal 2 is a cool game with plenty of replay value if you like beating a game 12 different ways or are into two-player games. It's just a bit surprising that the game looks so much like the original. I guess they decided "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

Cool stuff for all

Twisted Metal 2 is one of the best Twisted Metal games, I still like Black better. I liked the movie where Axel goes back to his father and rips his arms out of his machine. I hate the T rating. Buy this game NOW!

TM 4 is better, seeing as you can access all bosses and play as one of them
