First of all, if you're one of those people who absolutely NEED good graphics to enjoy a game, stay away. If not, chances are you'll really like this game. It is, in my opinion, as good as (if not better than) most Final Fantasy games. It is also a game designed for completion, with all the available skills, items, and so on and so forth.

This games rocks, good stories, good graphics, good characters, and good realistic features. The music was AWFUL, because this Motoi guy is no professional, I wish they could throw him out. I could play better music than he can with my keyboard. One of the best RPGs I ever played on the Playstation.

Real life game play

Few games let you do things that might be done in real life, this is on of those. You can pickpocket people, forge your own weapons, make your own herbs, write and publish books, compose a symphony, and many other actions. in the end, the love factor that decides the fate for your character puts the cork on this realistic fantasy. Even then its not over Try the other scenario and try to compleate the voice collection for a special prize at the end.

This is an enjoyable and fun game

The game is very fun and non-repetitive because at first it is very easy, then after a certain boss it gets hard and more challenging. The most unique feature in this game is the item creation feature, you can write books, cook food, make medicine and even make weapons from certain minerals. This game is a MUST buy for true RPGers.

Star Ocean Series

This RPG offers a lot of options and ways to increase the status of the characters. I am playing it through for the 2nd time with the Male Lead character in order to open up the Universe / Galaxy version of the game. This is a good game to buy if you like to replay a game.

Not too violent or gory. I am anziuosly waiting for Star Ocena 3 which is supposed to come out on Playstation 2 next year.

Star Ocean 2 is an awesome RPG that is a breath of fresh air into the old style of turn-based play. Star Ocean 2 let's the player roam freely in battles. You wan't to run around the enemy and hit it from behind? Do it! Want to hit the enemy with outrageous special abilities before they know what's going on? Do it! There is so much to this game than can be explained. I have played this game for more that 200+ hours on multiple files, so it never gets boring. With secret characters, hidden dungeons and weapons, there's always reason to start over. Here are some other features the game has: Make your own weapons, food, art, jewelry. Use anaimals to help you with your quest, upgrade your armor and weapons with rare jewels. The list is almost eternal. The graphics are awesome for a playstation game. This is a must have for RPG fans that are tired of turn-based, or just ready for a good RPG. I recommend this game Highly to buyers.

When I first bought my playstation, this was the first game I bought with it. I had no idea what an RPG game was like until I started playing this one. I was instantly hooked!!! The part that really kept the game intense was the fact that you can switch between your four characters. If you are controlling one, then the computer automatically controls the others, but I quickly found out that the computer makes some really stupid choices during the battles. So as you get your characters, remember what powers each one has so that you can strategize how to kill certain bosses.
The only thing that got annoying was the characters little talking in the beginning of each battle. They would say the same thing before every battle but hey thats what a mute button is for right??
One more thing...if you are a Final Fantasy fan...the battle play on this game is A LOT different so it will take time to get used to the controls because the battle play is much more faster.
For [the money], this game is worth every penny. Good LUCK :)

If you have beaten all of the ff games and u can't find a game you should really get this game. I dont have this game but i have read every review for this game and its sweet from what ive heard you should definentally get this game the battle style is sweet you can move around the battle field and use spells and attack normally to do damage the graphics airnt the best but the story line is great. at the start of the game you can choose from 2 characters with similer story lines but some different parts in it. at the end there are 87 different endings for yourself so its going to take you a while. well go get the game NOW!

this is a sweet game if u hate rpg games this isnt the game for you then. when u get into a battle u can run around and attack.

This game is one of my most favorites. I haven't made it all the way through yet, but I simply love it.

The game has a few flaws. The voice acting is kind of lame, the story is WAY too boring at the beginning, and it seems pretty difficult at times.

The item creation part is the coolest. You can get tons of great items, foods, and weapons through this. In fact, the skills are so great that it's surprising the whole thing could fit on one disk long with the rest. Truly a great game.
