Cool new features

I've played the first two COMMANDOS games, so I knew I'd have to get the third. But till then I downloaded the demo.
You only get to see the Green beret, the Sapper, the Spy and the Thief. But from the looks of it I see a few intresting improvements / changes.
First: now there's no need of the SHIFT key. So to tie the guy up, you knock him out by Left clicking, then you right click, to take off the knock-out curser, then when you put the curser over him it automatically becomes a tie-up curser, and after you left click to tie him, it becomes a pick-up curser to move him away.
Second: When you run it doesn't make that wave-like thing around him. Which in away it's good because it's not annoying. But this way you don't know how far they can hear you run.
Third: Ofcourse there are new weapons, but in the demo you only see the new weapon of the thief: the Piano Wire, which chokes the guy to death.
Forth: The Green beret, Spy, and thief (and ofcourse the sapper) can throw gernades. The thief can now knock-out, gag/tie and pick-up.
Fifth: Besides for zooming, and turning the veiw, you can change from overhead to from-the-side veiw inside of rooms.

Well there you have it, atleast some of the new features. Looking good, and I'm sure it's even better in the full version. Just can't wait!

I enjoyed it

Unlike most people, I really enjoyed Commandos 3. Not that there was anything wrong with Commandos 2, but it really didn't feel like a World War 2 game. Commandos 3 gives you that feeling and shows a glimpse into what being an actual commando was like. It would be nice if there were keyboard shortcuts, but I've been able to work around that, and the interface isn't diffucult just different. You give yourself a chance to get used to it, it isn't so bad. Commandos 3 is a worthy to successor to the pervious games.

Awsome

Hey bud, if your looking for a cool brain racking strategy game this is the one you are looking for. This the the best strategy game ever after Commandos 2 : Men of Courage. The previous edition was a classic. I sincerely hope this game would again win the best game of the year award. I have not played it yet. I am hoping to buy it in the next few days.

Mark my word. If you want to play a realy challenging strategy game with exceptional AI - this is the game pal, this is the game.

Good Gaming

I downloaded the demo I thought it wasn't bad.The graphics on the commandos arn't that good but the enviroment was grate. I have played the last 3 commandos game. Commandos 2 was very nice and I'm hoping when the full version comes out it will look better than the demo. I can't wait for C-3 to come out I have waited to long since C-2

Great improvement from the first two. Much harder. Loved 1 and 2. Completed both. Commandos 3 is taking a lot more concentration. Love this game.

A rather amazing game!!

I very much enjoyed this game. The graphics were so much better than the previous ones. The new features make the gameplay so much better. I loved the maps. One thing i love this better than commandos 2 is that most of the action takes place outside, whereas in C2 there's a lot of indoors taking place (you have to search boxes, and cabinet which get really annoying at times). They've also simplified the game quite a bit, which works in its advantage.
I only wish there were more maps, and I also wish there were keyboard shortcuts for each weapon.
I definitely recommend this game!! I give it 5 stars!! (i can't believe it got low ratings from some of the customers! what the hell!)

Great purchase, and it was not what I wanted

This game is great! Its very similiar to Commandos 1 and 2 so be careful it is not Commandos strike force which was the one I wanted to buy. I must admit I was dissapointed at first because I was looking forward to the first person shooter version but once I got into the game I remembers why I spent hours playing Commandos 1 and 2. So if you want more of the original style you can't go wrong with this one.

I have always been a fan of the Commandos series. They take patience and planning. Destination Berlin continues in much of the same way its predecessor did but with better graphics and new controls. I must admit that I am not all too happy with the hotkey changes but you get used to the new controls all the same. Graphics are nice and so is the sound, although they are nothing to write home about. The cutscenes are great in that they really provide you with a feeling of impending doom. Number one thing to all that are interested is that you must be a patient individual. If you like to fast forward through games, this will not be a game you will enjoy. All and all a decent game with very few draw backs.

A decent game.

I really enjoyed this game to a point. Having played the other 3 Commandos games, I could not wait for this to come out. The graphics are better than the other games even when you zoom in. The other games got pixelly where as this one doesn't. If it does, it's time to upgrade (I played this on a pentium 4, 512 meg ram, 128 meg video card).

What I liked was the graphics, how challenging the game was, and the way the landscape changed making you change your strategy.

What I didn't like was the controls, no cutscenes leading up to the next level, and there wasn't alot of strategy involved beyond what I already metioned. There are no more hot keys to control which weapon you use and other funtions. that really hurts this game more than anything. The cutscenes and other "eye candy" things I can do without (though I really enjoy them), but the based on the other 3 games, the stratgey involved stinks. Not more sneak attacks or thinking before you act. You can go in guns blazing and not suffer like the other games.

I did enjoy the game, but with the controls and strategy they took with this game, it really hurt the game. This could have and should have been an awesome game. But all we are left with is an average game with a few really good levels. At this price (and probably lower would be better), I would recommend this game, especially to people who have played the Commando series. But definitely don't pay full price.

There was nothing else to buy

Standards for video games are so low these days that you'll never find a game where you actually need to use your brain or combine different characters/abilities/etc to achieve anything. Nope, these days it's all 'walk down a tube massacrating hordes of mentally challenged enemies' with no story, no need to use the smallest portion of your intellence.

While Commandos 3 suffers from what I mentioned above (To a point) it still beats by far every other game out there. Yep, it has almost no story, no cutscenes, the objectives are stupid, and the dialogs are completely estereotyped, but if you can find another game where you need to use different characters and combine their abilities in different ways, where you can achieve victory in many ways, and where the steep learning curve will force you to make a PLAN, tell me.

Yep, sadly, out of all the crap that fill computer stores (Today the games consist of nothing but cute graphics to make the kids let go their $$$) this is the best I can find. The Min. sist requirements and the price make this 'game' even more worthy too.

I'll buy it for these Xmas.
