Genesis action at its best

Infinitely worse than its sequel, Vectorman I nevertheless boasts clean, colorful graphics, a killer soundtrack, originality, lightning-quick action, and, of course, one of the greatest characters ever - Vectorman (those who played Vectorman II first will be surprised to find out that he has a different voice). Part action game, part shooter, Vectorman manages the various variables that make a game fun to play very well. The levels themselves are very different - from bamboo mills to sinister spaceports to ice-filled underwater caves, Vectorman has it all. In between the levels there are shooter-style boss battles - each very different from the rest. On one occasion you are a cricket on an unrolling mat, shooting at two giant fists trying to squash you. In a few levels you find yourself in a disco setting, shooting at a spinning electric monstrosity. With the help of items, Vectorman can transform himself into a number of things - a drill to a rocket to a dune buggy (still, the sequel has more options).

I find the levels to be absolutely beautiful. The science fiction setting really works wonders for the game. Try it. You won't be sorry.

One of the best Genesis games, EVER. The graphics and animation are super and the action is intense. I have played hundreds of Genesis games and can say that this is one of the very best.

This is the only genesis game ive played showing the BEST graphics! unlike its downgraded sequel, Vectorman gives a more cherry bang for the buck type of gameplay consisting of 16 levels i believe an even though vectorman II has 21-23 levels, This one stands out. Now im not here to talk about vectorman II so check out my review for that if you wish. Now,The humans left Earth from pollution an you as a robot get to clean up. You are a sludge pilot who delivers (you guessed it) sludge to the sun...Boring huh? well while you were doing so, Raster; leader of robots went haywire an somehow with out-of-the-blue magical powers, took over the other robots (except you cuz you were gone) an commanded them to destroy the humans when they returned. Now not too good of a story but oh well this isnt an RPG so you kick some robot ass, morph into stuff like a spider, jet pack dude, bike-thing, rocket and more. You get weapons (you shoot out of your hands) like rapid fire, spread shot, super shot (the best one) and more. Dont worry. There are numorous bosses an robots just waiting to get their asses blown off andf only YOU can make that happen. Give vectorman a shot and it will greatly give you nthe idea that The SNES may not be better than the Genesis after all... An for those who got ris of or dont own genesis's, you can buy this game off RealOne Arcade for 10$ But i still prefer the genesis version.
