Fabulous & Fun Platform Experience

After almost 20 years playing every type of game on so many different systems, Dynamite Headdy remains one of my fondest memories and even now, 10 years on, I would still pop the cartridge into my Genesis / Megadrive for an enjoyable trip down memory lane.

The graphics are absolutely top-notch - some of the best seen on the system, while the music is excellent. There's more than a few catchy tunes on there and the soundtrack just suits the zany nature of the game perfectly.

The levels are varied and packed with special effects and humour - there's even a shoot-em-up style level in there! Backgrounds and enemies are constantly wonderful and imaginative, as are the spectacular bosses you will encounter along the way!

Gameplay is great - it gets pretty tricky later on, but perseverance guarantees progress and rarely does the action become tedious, fiddly or overly frustrating, as tends to be the case with a lot of platformers.

In terms of lastability, the game will take some time to complete given the difficulty of the later stages. But even after completing it, it is always enjoyable to come back to and, of course, there is always the challenge of finding those elusive Secret Bonus Points scattered througout each level.

To conclude, a magnificent game from Treasure that thoroughly merits a place in the collection of any Platform fan!

This game is great. It is a masterpiece and is well worth the price. Get it. It is a classic passing levels game and is challenging for people who like challenges.

I like this game. It brings me joy to play. It is not only challenging and addictive but educational as well. It teaches you skills like destroying tons of people at one time with your head when you detach it from your body. Its fun becaus e you can turn your head into different things like a vacuum which is really cool to have for a head. It makes me wish I could turn my head into things. Its the best game. I could live off Dynamite Headdy.

This is a truly garish platformer. You play the title character, who can detach he head and chuck it at people. That's how you kill the bad guys. He's not the best character ever and you won't have fun playing him.

The main problem with this game is that there are far too many backgrounds, sub-backgrounds, foregrounds, middle foreground etc. that you never really know where the character is or if it is safe to jump. Plus they are all moving which becomes very distracting.

The color scheme is simply horrid. Nothing buck sickeningly bright pastel colors that make the game look like a packet of skittles more than anything else. I can only see this game being popular in Japan. The english translation just doesn't work.

The story is something to do with an evil circus and rescuing your pals. Already done that in Rolo to the Rescue. Sorry.

Stay well and truly away from this. It's even worse than that game where the robots turn into blingwads. A truly appalling experience.
