If you were ever a fan of the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon series - you have to play this game. In this game, Robotnik is trying to robotcize the inhabitants of Beanville, and it's up to you to stop him. You get to do battle with the main bad guys from the show including Dr. Robotnik himself and his S.S.S.S.S. (Super Special Sonic Search and Smash) Squad (including Grounder, Scratch, and Coconuts). The graphics and music are great and this is a great puzzle game that will keep you entertained for hours. I bought a Genesis just for the purpose of playing this game.
Good, fast, fun!

I loved Dr. Robotnix when I had it years ago. My husband surprised me and bought the last Sega Genesis systems before they retired, and this game. Double surprise. This game is reminiscent of a "tetris" high. It plays as well as a two player competetion or as a solo-player. This is like Tetris but with some huge differences. Like Tetris where you stack same color in order to cause peices to collaspe, Dr. Robotnix uses colored bean like peices. You can be very imanginive in how you set up stacks and this is where alot of the fun comes in. You, or your opponent causes boulders to be droppped on the other player when collasping a stack of beans-the more combos you have set up the more boulders! In single player mode, after each level you are given a code so you don't have to start over from the beginning. The levels are from easy to very hard with each "boss" having a different style of game play to keep from being tedious. Each level is more challenging and faster drawing you back for more competive play. The colors are bright and characters creative with characters getting mad if you win.
Makes a good friendly competitive play among friends. Hasn't lost it luster over the years. Again Sega rules!

In this puzzle game, Dr. Eggman has captured the citizens of Beanville and is tryng to turn them into robots! It's up to you to set them free.
Here you will face some of Dr. Eggman's earliest inventions, including Scratch, Grounder and Coconuts. To defeat them, you must free more beans. To set the beans free, group 4 or more of the same color together. Try setting more groups of beans free to increase your score. Also, if you are playing with an opponent, your opponent will get more robo-beans. They cannot be grouped, but can escape with a neighboring group. You can be very creative on how you set up the beans. In addition, the enemies get mad when you win, making it more challenging for each new level. It is so much fun to play, and we own both versions: the 2D version on Sonic Adventure DX, and the 3D version on Radica's Sega plug n' play game.
This game not only gets 5 stars because it is such a fun and challenging puzzle game, but also because many of Dr. Eggman's earliest inventions were originally featured in the "Adventures Of Sonic The Hedgehog" TV show. Several years ago, that show didn't seem to air anymore. Why? It was such a great show, and I love seeing Sonic and Tails' misadventures with Dr. Eggman's earliest inventions! Oh, well. At least we have this video game!
