This game looks and plays great!

The graphics for this game are awesome -- way better than the first two Jet Moto's. It's hard to master at first, and you have to learn to use the grapple, which makes it different from other racers, but once you've got it down you can pull off moves that no other race game allows you to do at super hi speeds.

JET MOTO 1 AND 2 WERE GREAT, BUT JM3 FELL A LITTLE SHORT

Since the beginning of the video game era, racing games have been in a league of their own. Programmers have scrambled to create new games that would stand out in a crowd and challenge to bored American youth. Each platform has it's own diamond in the rough; those games that are just so unique, so refreshing, and so formidable that there's no way for it to be topped. Playstation has achieved this goal quite remarkably with the Jet Moto series.

It all started with the original Jet Moto. The game was advertised for months before it was finally released. Programmers at Single Trac boasted that it was completely original and an overall superb game. They were right. Jet Moto more than lived up to the hype and the whole concept behind it was unprecedented. The game was frantic- 20 riders on futuristic hover bikes ripping through all kinds of terrain at breakneck speed. Each rider had his or her own unique style and background and mastering those bikes wasn't like driving a car. You could tilt, lean, grapple, turbo, and even air break just to try and stay on. The full range of motion tested our reflexes to the breaking point and forces us to keep our wits about us as we used every button on the controller to fight to the finish line. Not only did all the other riders try to knock you off your bike, but there were also the 1000 ft drops, trees, broken highways, and other assorted obstacles to watch out for. And if we learned to master all that, we could be a little daring and try a few tricks off of the generous ramps on the course.

Jet Moto 2, in my opinion, is the best of the "Jet Moto Trilogy." The graphics are a little better, but in my mind that's not what should make or break a game. No, what really made Jet Moto 2 stand out was the incredible tracks. Granted, there weren't as many riders, but the competition was still just as fierce. There was also one other big improvement from the first Jet Moto- the handling. It was still a challenge to maneuver your bike, but all the riders had more agility, which allowd for more control and better stunts.

And then Jet Moto died. For some reason Single Trac handed Jet Moto over to 989 Studios who did a thorough job of slaughtering it. Sure, the graphics in Jet Moto 3 are superb; that's what 989 Studios does best. In fact, that's practically *all* they do well and they still screwed *that* up(the graphics tend to "smear" as you approach them). The crash detection in JM3 is *horrible*. You can barely touch a wall and go flying off your bike or you can slam head first into a wall and bounce off it at some odd angle. Also, there are very few riders to choose from and in a race, you will only go up against five other racers who you will almost never encounter.

Now, JM3 isn't all bad. There are a few things that I must commend 989 Studios on. First of all, the handling is *excellent*. Many Jet Moto fans complained that this made the game too easy, but I disagree. It allows for some much needed agility, considering the incredible speed of Jet Moto 3. The bikes are way faster than in the first two games and there is less room for error. And, of course, I have to mention the "hop" feature. I think it's kind of cute, but not really all that useful until you get to the expert courses. (Oh! there's another great feature: air brake is standard! :) )

One final caution: while the controls in the first two Jet Motos are almost identical, Jet Moto 3's controls vary greatly. After playing it for a while I went back and played the original Jet Moto. Not only was I frustrated by the handling and slow pace of the game, but I also became agitated by the fact that every time I went to use grapple, my bike would lean. And every time I went to "hop", I would use grapple.

All and all, Jet Moto is great as a whole, but whichever game becomes your favorite is entirely up to your personal preferences. For a great classic with poor graphics(sort of like the original Donkey Kong) go with Jet Moto 1. If you're looking for an excellent racing game with incredibly original( and challenging) tracks, then reach for Jet Moto 2. However, if graphics mean a lot to you and you like the top speed "pod racing" style, I would recommend this game.

The Best Racing game ever!

I love every Jet Moto game. I own all three of them! It's a game that pushes racing games to the limit with extreme stunts and radical wipeouts(which I mostly do but I still think the game is great)! I got this game for Christmas from my dad and I love winning the races when when I'm racing against him. Although Jet Moto 3 is easier then the first two, it's graphics out run them both. This is the best game I have in my collection and it will be for a long time so put it in your shopping cart to buy it!

I guess I don't know where to begin. This game is really good. It's got its share of flaws but it's still fun. The good sides first. The gameplay has a really fast, fluent style and the grapples work much better than they did in the previous game. The novice courses aren't too hard, but they get harder. Catacombs seems like a pure nightmare at first. Then, the professional courses get even harder. The Machu Picchu course is out of control and almost every part of the terrain is extremely narrow. I won't tell you what happens after you beat Professional mode. Another fun thing is the stunt courses you get when beating certain levels of the game like the deformed Circus Park you get for beating Semi-pro mode. The graphics aren't the greatest in the world, but they do. But the thing is, if you don't have a memory card, you'll get pretty sick of the game because you need to save your progress on a memory card, or you'll be playing Novice courses the whole time which isn't much fun. Also, some of the courses are extremely hard to figure out like they don't have a set path. Courses like Shipwreck Cove, Volcano Island, and Machu Picchu can be very hard to understand at first because the levels are too open. Besides that, it's a blast. Buy it but get a memory card too.

An incredible, amazing game! Get Jet Moto 3!

Jet Moto 3 is the greatest video game on the market. No other game offers the kind of exitement and adrenaline rush that Jet Moto 3 does. In comparison with the earlier Jet Moto games, the graphics set a new standard for racing games, and you will not find another racing game like this on any video game system. You will be happy with this game if you buy it.

One more thought on JM3

My first post "Jet Moto 1 and 2 were great, but JM3 fell a little short"(or at least I remember calling it something like that) says it all. Well, it actually says *most* of it. I just thought I should add something very key: this game can be very frustrating. It's hard to master- especially if you're used to the first 2 Jet Motos. Once you learn it, this game can be very amusing; although the crash detection will most likely always be annoying.

I also noticed that, just like with the first 2 JMs, two player mode really is awful. No matter which way the screen is split, you practically have tunnel vision and is can be very dizzying(and impossible). Well, just a thought.

This one has run out of gas...

Jet Moto 3 unfortunately comes up short in comparison to the first two games. The control is kinda iffy, the graphics aren't really that great, and the two player mode is unbearable. Do yourself a favor and go after the first two instead, they're much better constructed than this one.

this game shows me what speed is toward my hands

this game is gooood its twice better than jet moto 1 or 2, (well im not sure of that because i forgot how jet moto 2 is.) alot as how ive seen in this webiste mentions that jet moto 2 is quite best than jet moto 1 and 3, but if you are someone that wants to have new jet motors, good features, outstanting, creative racetracks, than this is the game for you.
what was funny is that i taught this game was going to be a normal race game like any other.. like if i would start in a normal lowering speed as how you normally do when you speed up with a car. but, when i accelerate on this game.. you start speedin up already and goin out there crazy! this game is real wild. myself,i enjoy the game because it feels good going in a good high speed, even when your starting off from the beginning. in a few minutes when i played the game, i got used to the controlling. i find it easy but what is really fun is the way you can ride on something so fast while making a challenge with many other different racers on the game.
the game is interesting while hearing the great good quality music the game gives from each level. that is something that makes me like games.. thing is, the music expresses each level of the game. my favorite are from the khambu race track (the racetrack with the iceroads). as a matter of fact, i like all the songs. they are all great. makes me wanna turn my surround speakers and pump it up.
as how ive said, the game is good, its really good. this is a great experience to speed... especially on my own hands. if you try this game, make sure you get jet moto 2.

Alleluia!

I have rented Jet Moto 2 many times because it was my favorite game for PSX. I thought even if it had a sequel, the sequel would not be better... but was I ever wrong! My favorite part of Jet Moto 2 was pulling off huge stunts, and when I heard that Jet Moto 3 had a Stunt Mode, I decided I MUST buy it. And boy am I glad I did. The game is much faster and tighter than Jet Moto 2. The only thing I want on Jet Moto 3 is a bike creator so you can make your own.

Stick with JM 1&2

Go back NOW! JM3 is a marketing ploy. The first two Motos are great; the physics of the bikes are realistic. The third one, however, goes off of the deep end. Control of the bikes is jerky and the graphics aren't fluid. I bought JM3 because I had so much fun with the other two...... big mistake! This one should have been the first... a lot of kinks still needing to be worked out. The worst game in my collection.
