I recently purchased this game for my 6 year old son. It is now his favorite DS title. Monkey Ball contains an entire collection of fun action games.
Pros:
- Contains a collection of fun action games on one "disk"
- Easy to use for younger children - no reading required
- Fun with no violence
- It seems to be challenging
- Kids up to college age borrow the game and have fun with it
Cons:
- Repetitive music could drive parents crazy during long car rides (-;
Loads of fun for all ages!

We have 3 boys (ages 8, 7, & 3) and 2 girls (ages 6 & 7) and they ALL love playing this one! The two oldest boys used to be the only ones that played their DS's.....now everyone wants to play Monkey Ball - even Mom and Dad!
most popular DS game at our house

My husband bought this for our 8 year old daughter a few months ago. She loves it (at 8, she does get occasionally frustrated with the more challenging levels). When she needed help she would ask her dad and 12 year old sister. The three of them are now addicted. They all three play it and no one minds when the younger one happens to need help with this game. A big hit at our house.
Don't touch the monkeys!!!

Sega's Super Monkey Ball series has always been one of those kind of franchises that offer simplistic fun, but what's made the series so memorable has always been it's unique charm and presentation. The series makes it's debut on the DS with Super Monkey Ball: Touch & Roll; and while it offers much of what fans would expect from the series, there's nothing here you haven't seen before, and haven't seen done better either. Featuring 100 stages and the tried but true rolling monkey in a ball gameplay, Touch & Roll also offers some touch screen controls (hence the title) for the main game mode that are incredibly awkward to say the least. The various mini-games, which there aren't nearly enough of, are where the real fun of Touch & Roll is to be had, but there's nothing here that you can't find on any of the console versions of the series, or even the older GBA title, which is actually better than this DS edition. That being said, Super Monkey Ball: Touch & Roll is definitely worth checking out for DS owners or fans of the franchise craving some portable monkey action, but don't expect anything relatively new here.

I bought this game for one of my twin daughters that are 9. They both love it and the fun part is they can both paly it thru the wireless feature and race against each other. I even like to do it.
Great price and great fun.

I really liked this game at first. There are 6 mini games, racing and air hockey are my favorite. When i first started playing it was a lot of fun. After a while i had trouble with a few of the levels. There are some levels that are impossible and i haven't beaten them after about a billion tries. I am stuck on those levels and i only play the mini games now.
Not as much fun as other monkey ball games

I Bought this game thinking that it would be as good as the other versions of this game. i ended up being pretty disappointed. the story mode on this game is extremly short and once you beat that, the only reason to play this game is for the mini games. 2 of the minigames, out of the 6, are actually fun (Golf, Air hockey,). if you like to play repetitive mini games, then buy this game. otherwise don't.
A little problem with the new mini game Monkey Wars

This game has a main game like other Monkey Ball titles but this time you can control the monkey with your stylus instead of the d-pad. I think the stylus sucks completely on this game and I hate HAVING to use it. Yes you MUST use the stylus for all the mini games and for some main game levels (I am impartial to the use of the stylus on Metroid Prime Hunters as well so if you use it there you might like it here). Unfortunately more than 50% of the levels are ripped from Super Monkey Ball 1 or 2 so there aren't many new levels at all which kind of defeats the purpose. The main game is also easy (mostly because I have played 50% or so of the levels). The d-pad isn't as smooth as a joystick so I prefer the home console versions. The download play kind of sucks because only 3 of the party games can be played and none of the main game can be played in VS style (even for multi card play). Monkey Fight has a camera that is annoying so you can't see the entire stage. Stylus controls only work well for Air Hockey and Golf and would work well for Monkey War -IF I WERE RIGHT-HANDED. Unfortunately, there is no way for let-handed people to play monkey war unless they learn to control their right hand. This is the greatest flaw of this game. Don't buy this for the main game if you have played Super Monkey Ball because it is a waste. Buy this game for the mini games because they are almost completely changed. However, as great as the mini games are there are many missing features like on golf you used to be able to measure the distance to any point in the stage that you were aiming at. Now it just tells you how far the shortest distance is to the hole (which isn't always the best way to get there). This flaw and many other little flaws along with the Monkey Wars flaw makes me give this only 3 stars.
slightly dissapointing

I'm a giant super monkey ball fan and this one might be the worst. The stages are 3-D and the monkeys are 2-D....blech. The party games are awesome, but the story mode is impossible, the controls are pretty skectchy, but maybe be enjoyable for some younger and beginner gamers.
