Not So Fantastic

This is an OK game. Some of the levels are a little challenging because if you die you have to start over in that level. Kids will have a hard time with the game and even some adults. However, if you like the Fantastic Four you can get it, but might as well get Number 2 instead.

Futile Four

This is a game that kids would probably enjoy. For adults, it's about as sad as the film.

Pros:
- Game is actually more interesting than the film.
- Game is best when you have to cooperate to solve a problem- unfortunately there isn't enough of this kind of puzzle solving. E.g. Reed can't walk thru an energy barrier unless Sue creates a force field around him. The interface controls for lending powers to one another is there, but is never used to their greatest potential.
- Discovering new capabilities as you level up, especially when you combine them with other team mates.
- Different character's have different strengths that work best in different environments. E.g. when you are in a laser fight Sue is great to use because her infinite shield can deflect lasers back at opponents. When you are Johnny, you can wildly throw fireballs with low cost to your cosmic powers.

Cons:
- Extremely repetitive.
- Audio is very poorly done- in some cases there is no audio at all.
- Graphics are pretty hideous by today's standards.
- Buggy. Game crashes sometimes.
- The combination lock puzzles are an extreme waste of time.
- Very aggrevating at the end: In the final boss fight you must successfully complete an ultimate (timed combo) to win. I gave up after too many tries.
- When your AI comrad's are fighting they do not impart as much damage as when you take over the character. This is done no doubt so that you don't get out done by your AI partners- but it really makes them useless as partners.

Good graphics and fighting styles, that's about it....

I really hate to say this, but the truth is the game is pretty boring. The game's fighting mechanics for each individual character have very reponsive controls in an easy format. The graphics are very good, story line is entertaining but not great, and you get to fight against several of the FF's better known enemies. Unfortunately the first group of levels are extremely brief. The latter levels have a strong sense of "been there, done that", with many common enemies having the basic style of attack with just different character skins. There is a small element of puzzle solving, but the meat of the game is button-mashing combat. Characters can progess their skills through acquiring score and purchasing moves. There is co-op two player only support (why no 4-player?), and some pretty good interviews and other stuff to unlock. Very good concept, but overall repeditive and stale gameplay. Rent or buy used, you'll most likely regret buying new.

this software is really buggy

during certain parts of the game, each super hero has to "hover" over hotspots, and click "B" in order to execute a power, but "B" is also an action button....so, you could be fighting, and then have to "hover" and wait for the software to figure out that you are there, and not waiting to fight. And once you are there, you have to do some dumb sequence of keystokes, in order to get the super hero to execute the move.

Mr. Fantastic has to figure out some dumb puzzle!
Sue has to spin the directional control really fast.
johnny and ben have to hit the "A" button really fast!

i, too, paid full price.

Horrible

This game sucks, there is nothing great about it, this is the worst x-box game ever. If it's not the worst it must be in the top 3, and I'm saying 3 to be nice. I would have given it a zero but one is the lowest you can give. [...]

Alright, its fun every once in awhile but it gets old fast...

If you like mindless button pushing and fighting mole-men, stone aztec things, and now mummies then you should still find a different game then this one. I know it's hard to make a video game that doesn't envolve mindless button pushing but this one doesn't even make an effort to differ from that.

What they should do is put games like this out on PSP where you wouldn't mind pushing buttons because you'd be traveling or trying to pass the time. I actually think it would be more fun on PSP because with large systems you expect a lot which, this game didn't bring.

Good game took look take a chance with

I loved this game the 3D graphics were incredible the cut scenes looked just like the movie. I liked X-Men legends more though, But this game has good replay and better graphics they also added more story on to it like with old enemy's like moleman, and Diablo, and a few others. I loved the puzzles they added into the game to keep you into the game. I Mean me and my friend had an awesome time playing this on coop like combining super powers. Also you have three super powers which as you upgrade look different, and also are more powerful. Then you have a comic attack which you can use by getting a super coin, and doing combos. Altogether the animations cool throw in huge cool bosses coop I just don't know why it's not 4-players and it's called fantastic 4 I say get this while your waiting for X-Men legends 2 so if you love to fight big bosses and cool animations like Ben grabbing guys and slamming them on the ground get this just make sure you read the instructions you don't know how many people got mad, because they didn't know how to play it right.

Awful!! Those people that gave this game good reviews are making money in some way from the sale of this game. I heard it was similar to the X-Men Legends game (which was great) so I didn't think twice about picking it up. I could not have been more disappointed. Graphics stink, gameplay is awful...I can't think of anything nice to say about it.

I should have seen it coming...the commercials for the game have no actual footage or screenshots from the game. The animation on the commercial looks nothing like the game. Multi player mode is even worse that single which stinks.

If you just feel the need to get rid of 50 bucks....flush it down the toilet and cut your losses. You'll feel better about yourself than if you actually spend money on this crap and then feel obligated to play it.
