This Poker Simulation is FUNNNN!

If you are a poker buff like I am who likes to play in ESPN online tournaments or enjoys watching an occasion WSOP tournament on TV, you'll enjoy this game and all of the player nuances.

It was easy to pick up and is really a lot of fun (a good teaching tool as well which is something I appreciate). I have just started my "career" as an Amateur under the guidance of Chris Ferguson. I love my Wii -- but this game on the Wii is one of my favorites just by virtue of what it is.

I hope that Nintendo Wii game developers also create a good casino game where I can throw craps. That would be awesome. If you like poker, you'll enjoy this simulation game.

What the heck were they thinking??

This is a spectacularly bad piece of design for one reason: they embedded the sound of someone sneezing -- which repeats itself in almost every game and sometimes repeatedly throughout one game -- inside the SFX Sound, which means you have to turn off the sound of the cards shuffling and the chips clinking just to get rid of the unbearable and persistent sound of sneezing. If you turn off the SFX, the game loses half of its appeal.

Wow, what an idiotic decision. Why couldn't they have put sneezing in the Voice section where it belonged, so it could be turned off along with those annoying "hosts" they included?

The gameplay is okay, though it can be difficult to read your own cards (squinting required), even on a huge TV like our own. Also, it's too bad you can't see a literal top-down view of the table. But all of this is tolerable compared to endless sneezing.

FANTASTIC!!

The Wii Remote is just terrific for this type of game. I mean I have played other poker games on other systems and have always found the conrols annoying. With the wii Remote however the controls are perfect and the gameplay is just as perfect...This is a great game for those that love to play poker...(and not lose any money..lol) while feeling as if they are ACTUALLY playing with a group of friends...Only bad thing is it woulda been great if it had been online...hopefully the next one will have online...

There are better poker games out there

I found this game on sale for half price, So I decided to try it. I love poker, and have played a few games on the PC (free games), and they are much better than this, I was expecting a little bit more from a wii game than this, you cant play over the net, The screen is cluttered, and I dont like the camera angles. Also some of the noises can get repetitive and anouying, like the sneezing. I love the wii but not this game. I will wait and see if Nintendo brings out a poker game with online play.

If you like poker, this is as good as it gets in video game land

My wife loves this game. I've played it a few times, and it's about as close to sitting in the Las Vegas Hard Rock as you can get with you home television.

Lots of fun! Addicting...

I love to play poker, online and in casinos. The AI in this game is not the most realistic I've encountered ... e.g.,the bets are often way too high compared to the blinds (players often raising 10-20 times the blinds with borderline cards out of position). But it is good enough and very challanging as a video game (Note: NOT good for real-life poker training)

However, I love the interface and the funny characters. The graphics are a little rough, but it does give me a feeling of sitting in a casino and being at the final table on TV with some of my favorite poker players -- TJ Cloutier, Scotty Nguyen, Andy Black, Phil Gordon.

I also like the fact that I can create an avatar that kind of looks like me. That way I can pretend that I'm playing the World Series circuit and can see myself and my name on TV!

The hosts and the yawning, sneezing and repetitive chatter are pretty silly, but it doesn't annoy me like it does others. Actually, I can't wait to try some of the AI character patter at my next real table ("that'll keep the farm in the family" and my favorite "this hand is screaming for oragami - so I shall fold it" LOL!)

best poker game out

It's pretty fun. The game is a much better improvement over the GC version. It ease of use and funny remarks is very entertaining.

There's not much in the way of poker for the wii. For some reason, there was no battle for the bracelets on the wii but there was for the DS.

Anyway, you can create your player, with a limited number of features.
There's a bunch of unlockable features as well, but these are not necessary to play the game. The difficulty level is decent.

My major complaint is that the game is slow. When the action is to you, and you fold, it takes some time for the betting to progress or give you the option to skip. You can always skip the computer players, but it lags when it's your turn.

The graphics are okay. It was worth the $19 I paid for it. But I wouldn't have paid anymore for it. There's minimal uniqueness to game play with the wii-mote and nunchuk, but it's not necessary.

I hope the next entry makes it onto the wii.
