Road Rash is well on its way to eating up every single moment of my spare time! This game just plain rocks. From the hardrock soundtrack to the excellent graphics and game play, this game makes having an N64 a MUST. Even though it took me only a few days to win every race and qualify on every level, I continue to work through the levels time and again to buy new bikes and find new weapons and paths. Well worth every penny -- and with my Amazon $10 off coupon, my bro will be enjoying it come Xmas as well.

A little disappointing

This game is really fun, although the original Sega versions are better. The weapons are the best part of the game, with a good variety. Bad parts of this game are the races are too short, compared to the old ones, and only 2 kinds of bikes, although each new one is slightly different. Give this game a try though, it's worth it.

Fun for 5 min, gets old....

I played this game at a freinds house. At first it was a bit frustrating because I didnt know the controlls. Later on learning them, it didnt get better. The collision detection on the attacks (one of the main parts of the idea of road rash) was horrible, i'd swing the weapon right through people at times. Then the mercy rule was way to strong. I'd purposely sit there not driving for almost 20 seconds and then within 10 seconds I'd be caught up and in first place usually. The races are completly random, usually the person in last place with 10 seconds left wins. I usually like to play bad racing games forever but this game held my interest for 10 min tops. Buy Mario Kart or Diddy Kong Racing.

Needs work

The game is just average, It is hard to get in a fight with one racer, the mercy rule made it to easy to win races at the last second, and the bike selection was poor. This is better left to be a rental.

My favorite racing game out there!

This game rules. Simple as that. I am a big racing-game fan, and you can't get much more different than this. When most new racers to emerge are either futuristic gun battles with mounted rocket launchers and turbo boosts and racing ability is put on the back-burners in order to emphasize the huge weapons and intense speed, or regular car races with expensive commercial vehicles, Road Rash makes a refreshing change. First off, you're riding a motorcycle! You have to duke it out with up to 10 other crazy bikers to finish first while avoiding cops who will bust you and traffic which will run you down in no time. Luckily, you have super-human stamina, or you wouldn't survive ONE of the spectacular wrecks your bike will experience. There are weapons, and lots of 'em, but they are all up-close and personal, so you must actually catch an opponent to wipe them out. You can also jump cars and some trucks (don't try to hop a mack or semi!), which can result in either some pretty cool flips or some pretty bad scrapes. And multiplayer is awesome, though the races often result in laughter due to the wacky wrecks the players have and not concentration on who wins. One drawback: there are only four bikes to choose from in each of the 5 levels, two sport bikes and two cruiser (Harley) bikes. Still, this game is a must-have for any fan of the RR series, and any racing fan who wants a nice change from having an invincible racing craft.

I bought this game for my brother for Christmas, and both of us love it! (In fact, I made him leave his N64 at my place for a week :) The graphics are good, the sound is great (both the effects and the soundtrack), and the gameplay is outstanding. Both single-player and multiplayer are lots of fun. The physics are excellent, especially when you crash! The combat is a riot (especially with the great sound effects). The only (very minor) disappointment I have is that there are only two songs on the soundtrack, so they get a little repetitive. I guess that's due to limited space on the cartidge though. All in all, I'd say this is a must-have game for N64 owners!

Great RR sequal

This game is everything I expected that Road Rash would be on the N64. The graphics are not the greatest compared to other games on the 64, but the speed if faster than any racing out there.

It gets 5 stars because it is FUN!

I must say that I finished all 8 levels of this within a 4 day period. That is my only complaint. The game is too easy to win. I did find myself coming back to play it just for the pure fun of it. The multiplayer mode makes it worth buying. If you dont like short games- rent it. I also agree with the guy that didnt like this game in that fact that the "mercy factor" as he calls it lets you win even if you just crashed near the finish. You see, when you crash you are place back on your bike fairly close to the 'pack ' of racers. As well, then you are allowed to mystically speed up to catch them. With this in mind, you can win a race you dont deserve to win by catching up at the last minute. Purists wont like that. But if you like to bash head with a club, there is no came like it out there! It is very satisifying to choose one biker and speed up and slow down to stay with him (and her -- yes there are female biker babes! hahah) and club them repeatedly til they fall. Now, that is worth the money! Heck, as I write this , I am changing my mind! I am gonna buy this one! hahahah seriously ... ROAD RASH rules! ( of course i bought a 3do back in the day just to play road rash, so i am a big RR fan!)

Good game, if you don't mind repetition

Road Rash 64 is a good game. The gameplay is easy, the bikes are cool, and the music is great. The graphic could have been a little better and I definitely recommend having an expansion pak for this game. Overall, though THQ has produced another winner that is worthy of your fifty bucks.
