This game is to dark to see anything and hard to play with the controls provided. I'd recommend upgrading to a different system for this game.

Don't get wrong i love this game but!!!!!! it has a miss!!!

I prefered Doom64 however this game still has it challanges and lots of demons to kill the sound effects are creeepy, this game is definitely worth a try Laterzzzz gamers.

This is the one game that got me into first-person shooters. This same exact one. I didn't know what they were til this one came along and I'm glad that it did. Talking about one intense experience...I would finish playing with my stomach all tied in knots. It's THAT intense. But, well worth it, believe me.
If you like first-person shooters, you owe it to yourself to check this one out. Definitely worth your hard earned bucks.

I love Quake!

First off let me tell you , the graphics are better than the PC version,I should know, like any other Quake or Doom fan, I would spend sleepless nights playing through dungeons killing fiends and Vores to my hearts enjoyment. The framrates slow down slightely when you are in a room with lots of enemies, but not so much as to destroy gameplay. Overall its a pretty Great game.

PS. For all those Christian folk who dont understand why the game has "Demonic" things in it and who find it offensive, let me explain,I too would find it offensive if the game said go to the pentagram and be happy(which it doesnt), the enemies spawn from the Pentragrams, which is why you "avoid" the pentagrams, to sum it all up the reason why the demons are there is for you to kill them, basically you fight a furious battle against evil, if you had the determination and the ability would you just hide things in the corner for the demons to destroy God's creation? I should hope not.

Quake is impressive.

First, id software gave us Doom, then Quake came about....the graphically-enhanced, true 3D successor to Doom.

I bought Quake immediately when it first came out for the N64, because it was the first version of the awesome PC game available to me. It does not disappoint in any way. The graphics are dark, gloomy, and gorgeous. The levels are intricate with plenty of secret areas. The enemies are fast and difficult to kill....that's one of the things this game's really got goin' for it....it's VERY challenging....it'll take you numerous tries to complete some levels....the demons and monsters can and will make mincemeat out of your ass.

Quake 2 for the N64 is a tad better, but if you love FPS Doom-type games like me, by all means, get this game now!

Overall, 9 out of 10.

Quake is for me!

I'm late to this whole id thing, but man, this game is great! I remember watching a friend play Duke Nukem 3D on PC way back, little did I know then that id Software would eventually make Doom, and then this game!
I love the atmosphere. There's some really memorable level designs in here, like The Necropolis, The Dismal Oubliette and The Ogre Citadel. I like to dodge and watch the grenades that are meant for me bounce past as I strafe and turn down the stairs out of view of the first Ogre in the Citadel, see how close I can time it and not get hit, then I sneak up on him and kill him for his troubles. Hah!

Add to the excellent environments the very effective ambient soundtracks, and the game is a work of art I can appreciate. A work of art that one experiences and unfolds with skill and practice. I've had the game for 3 weeks and I'm to Chambers of Torment, stuck there for now. I got stuck on the Wizards Manse too for a while.

Christians playing this game??? Well, if you are a Christian -AHEM, A TRUE AND CORRECT CHRISTIAN WHO IS BETTER THAN ALL THE NON-TRUE AND INCORRECT CHRISTIANS- there are parts in the game where you can see some lines forming a symbol, and that symbol will not just scare you, it may make you think that OOPS, yes, you yourself ARE NOW INDEED GUILTY of doing something against God by playing this videogame on your television.

a okay game
