This game was was state of the art.....a few years ago. Thismaybe an almost arcade perfect mix of Killer Instincts 1+2 but justlooks tired today when compared to the likes of say the Tekken series. You expect a lot from this game but it just doesn't deliver. Its slow, dull and the 30+ hit combos that were a major draw in the arcade versions are so complicated to pull off that its doubtful you'll even bother. When the original game appeared on the SNES a few years ago, it was groundbreaking but today, it just can't cut it. If you want a decent fighting game on the N64 go for WWF Attitude or Mortal Kombat 4 instead. END
A fast and furious game

Nintendo has not been noted for delivering great fighting games on their 64-bit machine. This, however is an exception: it has fast action, terrific sound, interesting characters, and outstanding graphics. It is not the best fighting game around, but it will provide a good deal of entertainment for fighting fans.

This game is awesome. Im the kind of gamer who likes classic N64 games, and this is a superb masterpiece to my collection. This one has it all: Graphics, sound, and most importantly, great gameplay. Fighting fans definetly add this one to your collection. Its an oldie but a goodie.

Killer Instinct is a good fighting game, but could be definitely better for two reasons. In order to see the whole story, you have to defeat the game on all levels (from normal to master) with one character to see his/her whole story unlike other fighters where you get to see the ending even on easy mode. Second, in order to pass the whole game, you need to be an expert in more than one character. Some computer characters become unrealistically difficult and will defeat your character in a few seconds. So, you need to use another character to counter the computer's weakness. And you need to do this often. Remember, this is a Nintendo game which means a fun game for the whole family. Hopefully, Nintendo will do better on the sequel. Let's keep our fingers crossed shall we?

This game rocks for several resons, first if you can't play worth a lick, then you could choose Glacius, who in turn can beat anyones booty. My favorite character is of course Orchid because homegirl can whup tail with them legs....whoo. OFF THE FREAKING HOOK...and that combo where she morphs into a tiger on fire....no beating that, ya dig? OFF THE HOOK! No game on 64 could ever beat this game.
Almost flawless, but not quite

I got Killer Instinct Gold for Christmas a few years ago and it's still fun to play. It is almost a perfect port from the arcade versions to the Nintendo 64 console. The graphics are awesome and the fighting action is fast and fluid. The music goes perfect with the levels while the sound isn't bad either. The control is also top notch. You can use either the control pad or the joystick. There are also a few fatalities and you can knock your opponent off of almost every level. Some of them are especially cool. For example, in T.J. Combo's stage you can knock your opponent on the train track and the train will run over them. The combos can't be much better and the selection of characters is also good. There are many codes and secrets to find in the game that will keep the replay value good throughout the years.
Killer Instinct Gold is a great fighting game, but it's not completely flawless. Some of the graphics such as the mountains look like they're not finished and to see the real ending, you have to beat the game on the Master level and it's almost impossible. But other than that, this game is great. Anybody who likes fighting games should pick this one up today.

This is the best fighting game ever. There are loads of characters to choose from all with loads of special moves. The best thing about the game are the ultra combo's with hits in excess of 80 hits. The graphics look like they are straight from the arcade and the game play in two player mode has the greatest appeal than i have seen in any other game
For non-fmv fans.

This is one of the greatest tranfers from arcade to home system. The graphics indeed look almost just like the arcade and the sound is the part where it will shock you because we all thought the 64 couldn't handle such quality arcade stereo type of music but the 64 was able to handle it!!! Everything is there except for Jago's spirt move and some back grounds were altered. The bad thing is that due to nin 64's limited capacity of memory, the cool cinemas were taken out and each character is limited to one ending instead. But still alot codes and secrets make this game worth playing and of course when you unleash the ultra combos-sit back and watch it's gonna be a bumpy ride. Have a nice day.

Silicon graphics and the usual play control equal an easy to learn 3D fighting game. The thing that makes this game really unique are the killer combinations of moves, and the fact that there are tons of special moves for each character, but then when you start doing a combination of moves there are even more special moves! The fighting arenas are visually astounding, especially Spinal's ship. There is even cool fighting music to keep up with the pace of the fight. Speaking of the pace, there are 100s of options, including the speed of the fight, disabling certain moves, damage, and anything you can imagine. Another great part about this game is that there is an actual scale of challenge, which makes it anywhere from easy for a beginner - to difficult for a master gamer. The only disappointing thing is that the original fighters are better than the four new ones.
