I have been playing paintball for a few years now, so it was no surprise for me when I purchased this software game, I wanted to be able to some what enjoy paintball in those days that weather or other reasons prevent me from going out to play. To make story short, I was very disappointed from this games. The control makes the picture jump, there is no real way to aim, and in many scenarios you have no idea what is going on. Bottom line, I was dissatisfied.

It's OK but...

This is a good shooter but it is very short. Infact I took 3 or 4 hours and beat the whole tournament season, there is a medium sized range of markers to choose from, but you have to basically beat the whole tournament bracket to be able to buy the "best" marker. When you get this marker you find that you can waste a large amount of paint very, very fast. On and average round that will last me about 3-5 minutes, I can shoot 300+ rounds.

Not to mention it is not in the slightest realistic, you can fire near 1000 rounds and not even chop 1 ball! and this isn't just the Grim Reaper(best marker) but on the very first marker you can buy which is basically a paintball pistol, the computer equivalent to a Brass Eagle.

On the issue of Graphics, take Doom 1 graphics make them 3D and you basically have the "High-Quality graphics" that this game claims to have. Even though the box states "Harness an all-new, full 3-D engine, which delivers vivid graphics ...". This is a flat out lie, unless this game was made in 1995 or so, which it was released in 2000.

All in all, this game is fun for maybe a week then when you beat the whole tourny w/o even getting a tie (not that hard ai ...), then you will probably want to go and crack the CD into a million pieces and never buy another paintball game.

Ok......Thats it?

If your lookinf for a paintball game get high impact paintball it is WAY better than this. No one even has the time to create a REAL paintball game. There are no paintball games out there that are really good but hopefully someday one will come out before i die. So dont get this game. he graphics are good but the gameplay isnt. The best graphics in the world dosent make a good game.(think wolf3-d)

Having played the real thing, I must say that it is nothing like the real thing, but what computer game is ever?
However, with what they had to use, Activision has done an excellent job with this, my only complaint is that once you've played all the maps enough, it gets tiresome, and I wish there were some developers kit (SDK?) to allow for other maps to be made. Also, the one season gameplay is a bit short, they should have expanded the gameplay to include unlimited seasons each with their own challenges, or random happenings, like players leaving, and guns breaking down, to add an additional element. Overall, a very good game as far as it goes.

Difficulty

The difficulty of the game is not hard or easy it is in the middle of the two when you start. After a while of playing it isn't fun anymore. If this game were a online multiplayer such as Half Life or Counter Strike this game would be one of my all trime favorites.
I recomend this game to anyone being a leader of a team because if you know your head from your ... you willl better than the computer by a ton.
What i am trying to say is if you are anything like me then you willl enjoy this game for a while but eventually it won't be a challenge and you will get bored. If you have never had played games with this king of action then you'll love it but if you have playd anything like many of us gamers have then you'lll think its to easy.

The most realistic Paintball PC game.

I like this game pretty well. It is fun because they make it feel real, but the graphics aren't there. The have the real guns that they have in the real paintballing, It is also fun because you get to create your team and name your team... and your team members names. If you are looking for a paintball game that meets your expectations, this could be your game, even though it can be a pretty weak game (pending on how good your computer is).

this game is awsome

this is a really good game, i can tell when a really good game comes along because i have at least 50 and this is my favorite. the paintball guns are modeled after real guns. you play tournaments and win money along the way and buy better paintball guns for yourself and the team. this is a really fun and realistic game. ive had this game for 5 months and i still am not bored. the graphics are good and sharp. there are realistic courses and some ones that aren't but are really cool, like a prison or military base, crypt(graveyard)junk yard, and construction site. there are alot of options so you can do just what you want. this is a great game you should buy it. you'll need at least 300mhz for it to run smoothly. get it, promise you'll like it. ... the music is good too. ...

Well, when I first got this game, I was happy before taking it out of the box because I knew it would be so much better than the previous paintball games that I played. Ultimate Paintball Challenge puts the F back in fun. I mean, this game is very challenging, since it took me quite awhile just to pass one level. Your team mates are no where near as dumb like in the previous paintball games, because once you tell them to go defend, assult, or follow, they actually do it instead of running into brick walls. I also like the fact that the AI ain't dumb either. They can come right at you from no where and shoot at you like crazy. Even better, you can set how hard it is to get one person out by changing the difficulty levels, but even better, you can determine how many times they need to get shot before they get out which REALLY makes this game worthwhile. Talk about great music to go with the background as well, It actually sounds like your in a warzone in the Military level while you're playing. Plus when your in the Jail level, the music sounds as if someone just broke out of a jail. Each level is also neatly textured, with lots of hidden locations to get several stealth shots in there. The weapons are definently worthwhile, since each weapon gets better and better as you pay more money for them. The paint grenades are very fun to use as well, but they do tend to get thrown in the wrong direction at several points. You can also customize what your team's outfits look like, which is also a great feature in this game. I am quite surprised on how no one really gave this game a good review, cause this game left me on the computer for several hours, and I didn't get tired of it at all. Overall, I really recommend this game to everyone who loves first person shooters, cause Ultimate Paintball Challenge will leave you on the computer for hours.

I have really been into paintball for sometime now. Ive never have got the chance to go to any fields because we dont have one here locally. So i was looking for a paintball pc game. I was wondering if there even was one. Anyways the 3D engine on this game is great. I know some of the game levels are a little far fetched for paintball, like the military base and all. But it also has 4 fields that seem realistic to me anyways. Im not so sure the markers are based on actual real markers but they seem to have the right idea. Anyways definatly get this game if your a big paintball fan. It wont let you down. Nothing beats the real thing, But this will defice when your not on the field.
