If you bought Starcraft, then you might as well buy this. It adds more balance in some ways, but takes some balance in others. Why do the Protoss get the ability to mind control? With a 200 unit cap, it means that a protoss player on a resource rich map can have 600 units, given that all three sides are played. Then can mind control a peasant and then build another sides buildings and units. As if the Protoss weren't already a bit more powerful than the rest.
Still, it does add 15% more units. so instead of 12 different units, you can build 14 units. Also, each side has a way of efficiently eliminating large amounts of aircraft.

Although this disc is listed as a Windows CD, it is a hybrid disc that will work with both the Windows AND Mac versions of Starcraft. Great expansion set.

If you know whats good for you then you have gotta get this game! Even if you aren't a fan or even own the original StarCraft then just get the Battle Chest. This has gotta be the most fun and addictive game I have played in years. Not since the original Quake came out have I been this addicted to a game. Most of the missions are cool but some of them will be too tough for "newbies". The multi-player is where this game will live on. I play on battle.net with my clan AT LEAST 2 hours a day! The game hooks you and keeps pulling you back for more! -Justin

What I love about this game is the incredible versatility in multiplayer mode. The single player campaigns are really only good for one time through. Playing against the computer will keep you entertained for a while, but gets old after a while.

The real fun in Starcraft is the Multiplayer feature. With all the maps, and scenarios already on the CD and avaliable on the Net, you can have an awesome time with your friends for years.

I also like the new units avaliable to the races, but I believe that the Dark Archon shifts a bit more power to the Protoss then necessary.

Better than meets the eye

When you play starcraft, you step into a whole new realm of reality. it isn't anything like warcraft, it is twice as good. the goal of htis game is basically to knock out the computer opponent. There are 3 races to choose from: Terran (Human), protoss (high-teck alien), and zerg (primitave alien). All 3 are unique in their own way, with the terran, you can get tanks that destroy anything the can find, it is great. There is also the multiplayer option which allows you to play on a LAN, or you can play on battle.net, which is a lot of fun. Buy starcraft, you should buy it even if its $.... The game is worth every penny and you are guarnteed to have fun.

This is one of the best games ever, I bought the battle chest and it was kind of expensive at the time but it was worth it. The one player mode is challenging (did I spell that right) and has a good storyline. But the we have multiplayer where it's so fun to learn from the best starcraft players in the world. So stop reading reviews and buy this game.

Most game are fun untill you master the A.I. computer controled units. it gets boring bacause the computer does the same thing every time. but the beauty of starcraft is you can play online and there are unlimited posibilaties you can make your own maps whith improved trigers and more terrain and dodads the units that u get are worth the price the really spice up the game and make it really fun i would recomend the expansion pack to any one...
