This game's interface was really annoying.
I hated having to keep both party members alive at all times.
The voice acting could've been better.
Reminded me too much of Diablo.
The graphics were mediocre at best.
You can't adjust the difficulty once you've started the game, and this game is HARD!
If Taco Bell is still open go there instead of playing this game.
This could've been a good game if they would've designed it better.
I gave it two stars because I have played worse.
My grandpa died while I was playing this game.
He liked football.

Worst Voice Acting Ever

The PC RPG elements of this game are pretty solid, but you just can't immerse yourself in the experience when your partner delivers all his dialogue (even the urgent ones) with all the conviction of a retired adult film star. It may seem like a small thing to complain about, but that just means that you have not played the game or don't understand how to truly experience a RPG.

How can you review an unreleased game?

(...).Based on the demo, which was a huge download and not worth it in my opinion, I would have to agree that the voice acting is considerably worse than your average community theater group.

Since I loved Divine Divinity (everything but the redundant title), I hope that this is only a feature of the demo and since I can't post this without a rating I'll give it a tentative 3 based on that demo. The control scheme and inventory, item location, and similar features in the demo is clunk compared to Divine Divinity so that would have to be radically improved over the demo before I'd consider buying this game.

The premise sounds fun, the universe it's set in is intriguing and Larian's track record is great, but we'll have to wait and see. If the voice acting is the same in the game as in the demo, I predict a very quick demise for this game.

Beyond A Piece of Trash

I'm not sure what the designers of this game were thinking really. I've been playing video/pc games since Pong and I've seen both good and bad. I have kept an open mind. Eye candy doesn't mean a good game. This however...wow, it boggles the mind. The graphics for today's games are horrible. The voices of the characters and what they say are beyond lame. The game mechanics are extremely vague and theres no real manual of relevance. The whole thing is really just a piece of trash. Look elsewhere, like Pong.

I agree, Starforce sould be taken out of the future CD's

First of all this game is pretty fun to play even though the voice acting is a bit cheesy. Great Character Dev, nice pocket universes to visit and such, but I agree with the previous reviewer talking about Starforce. I went to the website to check out what in heck it was and my PC was left alone until I came on the particular topic in thier discussion forum and then my Privacy settings warning message came up meaning that if you even got to the FAQ you get bombarded with B.S. I volunteerely installed the demo(Which by the way also uses starforce) and have had no problems but that doesn't mean YOU won't have problems. I warn you DO NOT BUY THIS GAME! It is good but not worth it to puke up your system. I was waiting to save up enought to buy until I read that reveiw and then went to the very site)Larian) and found out that thier was indeed such a program that installs and that it can cause reboots and other system problems on some people's systems. I don't normally believe what I read, but I reaserched it and found that it is not mentioned in the EULA at all. SOme idiots on the Larian forum said that they would have to mention every file installed, not so, just the significant ones. I think this "driver" should be mentioned. Doesn't anyone have any common sense anymore! I have no problems on my system(yet) but out of Principle, I am not going to buy this game and encourage more violations to my freedom in future games such as "phoning home" and paying a fee everytime I load the game! It's just a silly game and not worth it!

This is for those people who complained about the voiceovers in the demo. Apparently, you haven't been to Larian Studio's website recently. Several days ago, they posted that they hired completely new voice-actors and re-recorded all the dialogue, so stop complaining. Bring on the game Larian Studios!!!

Beyond Boring

If you're looking for a challenging, well-executed RPG that you can really be immersed in, this game is not for you. If your idea of an RPG is an easy romp through the park with glorious treasures and piles of gold laying everywhere, you should love Divine Divinity.

The graphics are modest, not bad but no flash. Characters are far too small to warrant the ability to alter hairstyle and body type which is provided in the game.

Storyline is a yawner, the voice acting is very amateur, and with the ludicrously over-treasured and boringly simple Battlegrounds it's a lot like playing Nintendo with a cheat code.

Youngsters in the 11 to 14 year age bracket will love this game, anyone who's played and enjoys rigorous RPG such as Everquest will find this a snoozer in my opinion.

This game is made by Larian Studios, the people who made the smashing good hit Divine Divinity.

This is a action/Rpg but it has a few twists... (such as being able to do tactical mode instead of Hardcore, or Action)

The graphics are the same nice 2d crisp graphics, but with characters and npc's in 3d and a few other updates.

You can scroll closer and farter to get a good looka t many of the badies trying to kill you as you get rid of your Soul-forgin with a Deathknight.

(...)

If you liked Divine Divinity, or are a RPG fan I heartily recommend this, or if you just like having fun!

The game runs and plays fine, but, as reviewed by so many, I just lost interest in it. Talk to guy, open chest, find key, open door, talk to guy, etc. Boring.
