Read the other reviews for the details. I just had to add one more 5 star review because this game is unbelievably fun. I am a hardcore gamer, and this is honestly the single most entertaining game I have ever had the pleasure of playing. And it is definitive proof that voice acting can have a HUGE impact on a game too. If it's not done right, it completely removes you from the game. This game did it with unbelievable style, humour and polish. Cinema quality.

Went from great to... uhh... greater?

NOLF(the orginal game) was great. By now you know why it is so great. so if you don't mind I'll skip that... The GOTY(Game of the year) edition features one new singleplayer level, and several new MP maps. The MP in the original game was good... nothing too special... but its still very fun.

Single Player: 9.5 out of 10. (Graphics are a bit dated but are still great!)

Multi-Player: 8 out of 10. (Nothing special or inovaded, unlike the SP. Still fun to massacre your friends of the net.)

Overall: 9 out of 10. Best game I've ever played! I dont think anything will ever surpass this game in inovation/ creativity.

Oh and one more thing- Whats with the Mature rating? the original box was Teen... I couldn't see any differences...

This is fun game!

No One Lives Forever- Another Winner from Sierra

NOFL raises the bar for storylines in the action/shooter genre. Dozens of cut scenes (short video clips) tell out a detailed story worthy of a good Bond movie, with characters that could have been lifted out of an Austin Powers flick. Yes, the story is cliched, but that's why it works so well- it is everything you expect, and more.

The action is also great, with a decent variety of weapons. On the down side, the overall "feel" of the game is not quite as natural as Half-Life, or Return to Castle Wolfenstein, and the graphic quality could be better. However, the action can be quite good, most of the weapons pack a decent punch and Cate Archer is pretty fiesty "Operative". Another nice touch is the extensive character sketches, with each individual meeting a believable fate. I highly recommend.

Great FPS

Bought this after browsing for an FPS after having completed "Deus Ex" and wanting another.

I agree with many of the good reviews below. I'm surprised that it didn't do better in the stores. Forget about the "cute" aspects (unless you like them) such as bunny slippers and sleeping potions. This is a great FPS with good weapons, funny bad guys and a great storyline.

Absolutely plan on getting NOLF2 when it becomes available.

A real keeper. This game never fails to entertain. Whether searching for information in exotic locals, falling out of a plane, or sweeping a mine field through rose colored glasses, the beautiful graphics, humor, and never-ending villains out quell your meddling ways will keep you screwed to the keyboard until the cops bust in the door and your children scream out for you to stop and feed them. Worth every penny and should be a benchmark for the industry.

The Best Shooter Out There

This game is the best shooter I've ever played. It extremely funny and doesn't have the 'dark' atmosphere or story that most shooters have (Half-Life, RtCW, Deus Ex, all these games have a dark presence), but this game is very......... uhhhhhhhh not dark. Yah.

FUN & MORE

While fairly new to the gaming community, i do still have my standards of what is good and what is...lacking. NOLF is about the most fun i've had in a long time. The single player is hilarious (i just loved the whole monkey discussion) and is hard enough to keep me interested, if not overly difficult. While i really enjoy playing the multiplayer, it's often tough to find a good open server...just not enough people know about it! The lag can be a bit cumbersome as well...but if you can get over it...it's great! I loooooooove the sniping!

An interactive "Modesty Blaise" !!

The game plays like a Modesty Blaise novel with the serial numbers filed off! Good graphics and shooting elements INTEGRATED into the story, so that the action actually means something other than to provide corpses. Strategy, gadgetry, bullets, and psychedelica add up to a hoot of a pulp-action game.
