Better Than Legend

Two of my all time favorite titles, Resident Evil and Tomb Raider remade have not disappointed. RE4's keyboard controls were a minus but the controls in TR: Anniversary are much better thanks to the mouse. Gameplay wise I remember a few parts from the original, lots of challenging and fun puzzles to solve. But Anniversary feels new and original, like a completely different game thanks to the updated graphics. I am playing on my notebooks IPS screen and the visuals/detail are very good. So good that I actually got a bit of acrophobia trying to pull off all those dizzying maneuvers in the St. Francis Folly level! The music and atmosphere is great as well, very engaging. Anniversary has become my favorite of the series.
Whoa, another great TR game

I received on the first day it was available for PC. So far, I've finished a quarter of the game. Whoa! Was I amazed. I finished legend last year. Compare to legend, Anniversary feels a lot more refined. There are a bunch of new elements in controlling, and in the actual game-playing itself. The environmental graphics is even better. And if you played the original like I did, you would find this game very enjoyable. It's well-worth the money.
By the way, the engine of the game developed by Crystal Dynamics is very efficient. The game runs very smooth in 1024 X 768 without any AGP or e-PCI 3D video cards. But don't expect to have any options on. For best effect, a video card that ranges from 100 - 150 will do the job beautifully.
Brilliant return to form!

This is an awesome re-imagining of the original. The levels are fresh yet retain that overall design that made the original so fun; the graphics are great, although not quite "Legend" caliber IMHO; the audio is *TOP NOTCH* and it's a pleasant surprise to hear the original score made into a well done update. Overall, it's refreshing and gets back to what the original was so great for: puzzle solving and exploration!

This isn't the same as Warcraft, Halo, Fear, or Quake, but that's precisely what I like with the autonomy of the (lovely, accomplished acrobatic) Lara Croft.
I played the first Tomb Raider sometime in '98 or '99. It was so refreshingly thrilling to be able to re-live that all over again, but of course, with amazing, awesome graphics (I believe they keep you trying and RE-trying again at certain spots, so that you can keep admiring the hard work of their graphics. Like Part 4 of the Lost Valley...that whole section where you have to jump two slopes to get to the horizontal pole - ARGH!!! I spent two hours on that).
Having to find all the artifacts and relics, in order to unlock "goodies", only serves to make the game more addictive. I spent a full (infuriating) hour just learning how to use the grapple hook, but the one hour of learning is worth it. After all, there's the groovy Croft Manor and gym to practice in as well.
That being said, I was about halfway through, when my profile got erased by another user of my computer. Bum-mer. But I'm not complaining too much, coz it's that fun to go back to the start all over again. I've had 50% of the exploration fix and oh, there is that time trial to try...
Ooh, and by the way, I think this game seriously helps in the spatial development of teens/anyone. Your estimation skills are sharpened (with all those jumps across broken bridges, climbing up ledges, shooting enemies, doing wall runs, etc).
Like the original game only better!

I've often thought that the original Tomb Raider game was great but when I would go back to play it I was disappointed with the way it looked. This is like the original game but with lots more to do and beautiful graphics. Lara looks a lot better too. At first I thought that it was not challenging enough then I thought that that it was TOO challenging! (Dang Centaurs!). You Tube was a great help. It had videos of how to beat the bosses and how to navigate the tricky spots. I highly recommend this game!

This game is excellent. The story is close enough to the first game so that the new players of Tombraider aren't missing anything while at the same time it is still challenging to ones that have played the first game and even vertrans to the Tombraider games. Although many of the controls have changed, which is a disssapointment, but the added abilities of Lara Croft make up for it. Another must in the Tombraider collection.

This is a really fun game! I bought it for my son on his birthday on July 2nd. He really liked it and so did his brother. Computer games are the best and much more reasonably priced than the console games. You can do so much more with a computer game than with an xbox or playstation or something like that. This is a fantastic game! Tomb Raider is always a winner in my book! Lara Croft is sexy and she rocks in this game! She is also very smart and a great athelete and she has so many skills! I wish I had her energy and beauty! I think I am jealous of her. Oh well, I am just a mama anyways, not a video game character.

I'm not a gamer, but kick back with the Tomb Raider series for fun. I have a modest non-gaming system with a low-end 3D card, and the frame rates are decent.
This game has the graphics of Legend with the much greater challenge of the classic series.

I was a big fan of the original on the Sony Playstation. It totally immerses you, and it comes with plenty of surprises along the way. It is graphically beautiful, and the atmospheric sound effects are ominous. I would give it a 9.3 out of 10 as far as games go.

I loved this game and I am still playing it. I was really disappointed that the first TR was so hard to use with a newer pc, so I was delighted when this version came out and it is awesome! The graphics are off-the-hook.
I hope that if any of you other game vreators are reading reviews you take the hint, like duke nukem....AHEM....
