I'd Give it 10 Stars if I Could - I LOVE This Game!!!

"Fairy Godmother Tycoon" is the first "Tycoon" game I ever played, and because of how great it is I've become addicted to playing the whole Tycoon series!

In this game you've been hired by the Fairy Godmother to re-build her potions empire. Your goal is to increase sales & take business away from the competition, ultimately putting them out of business. You do this by:

*Checking the weather report daily, as this lets you know the percentage of the population that will need your potions that day.

*Ensuring that you purchase enough stock each day & that you've priced the potions appropriately - if you price them too high no one will buy, but if you set the price too low you won't make enough of a profit.

*Choosing how much to spend on marketing & research

*Paying attention to the sales reports to see how happy your customers are, the number of lost sales, & how you are doing in relation to the competition.

*And purchasing upgrades that will allow you to:
1. Help your store look better
2. Decrease the time it takes to make potions
3. Keep customers entertained while they're waiting
4. Increase wharehouse size
5. Put various spells on townspeople & competition

If you find that you need additional funds to get going, you can always visit the loanshark - but the interest rates are REALLY high!

You can also make additional cash by helping out various fairytale characters like the tortoise & the hare, the 3 bears, & Rapunzal in hysterical fairy-tale spin-offs/spoofs that pop up here & there.

It might sound complicated but its really not - a great tutorial is included that walks you through everything - in fact, it's one of the best tutorials I've seen.

Overall, this game is AWESOME! But be warned, it's HIGHLY addictive! I think it would be great for older kids as well as adults. I am 37 years old & couldn't get enough of it!

One of the better "arcade-type"games

I am in my early 40's and really got hooked by Diner Dash, Cake Mania, etc., last year. This one got me good. I played it as a 60-minute demo out of boredom and could not stop. If you like games that challenge you, but you don't have to totally concentrate every second on what is happening - try this!

Fun way to pass time.

This game is fun and funny. The story line and little side comments are very cute. There is enough of a challenge to make it interesting, but it is also easy, simple and sweet. Nothing stressful, just a pleasant way to pass the time with a game that is fairly simple, but not so simple as to be boring.
I enjoyed it.

A Great *FUN* Game!

When I bought this I was trying to find something like Sim City where you build stuff. When I started playing it I realized I had not picked up a game where you build stuff, and I was really disappointed. I even considered taking it back to buy Sim City 4.

My son wanted to play it though (even though he is too young for it) so I decided to give it a try. He loved watching all the people move around the towns and I soon found myself ADDICTED to this game. I could not stop playing it!

This is such a fun game for any age! It says a kid game on the front of it, I realized that after I had bought it. I thought it was going to be terrible, but it is not. It is SO GOOD and SO FUN.

I would recommend this game to adults and any child that is able to read.

So Much Fun!!!

This game is a wonderful form of entertainment. You're part of the fairy godmother's family and you have to rebuild her empire from the ground up. You face comical opponents like the NSH (Not-So-Hansome)Princes, who is headed by Prince Combover. It is a very funny game and you get to help fairy tale creatures as well in some pop up scenerios. As you advance through the levels, it definetly becomes more challenging. You are also able to upgrade a lot throughout the game. The tutorial was a big help. Fun fun fun!!!

The best tycoon, possibly best casual game out there

I just finished this game and am in such a good mood about it. In fgt, the fairy godmother asks you to take back her potion business from various other franchises that have moved in on her territory, from the Bearzinis (three bears plus goldilocks) to Sneersworth (her former associate who has obvious loyalty issues.) In each level you have to set prices and buy products based on the spell forecast for the next day (as each level progresses, more spells take over the poor citizens and you have more than a few potions to use). The levels get gradually more difficult and I never felt too overwhelmed with anything. I had to restart a level a few times, but the game allows that with no problems. This game is perfect as a casual game and anyone can figure it out thanks to the fun tutorial level. Great game.

Sounds easy, but it is not

I really liked this product. Behind the light-hearted themes, there is an interesting game of business competition using good inventory control principles, marketing, and controlling of expenses. The game is very educational, and still a lot of fun.

Fairytale Time!

I bought Fairy Godmother Tycoon on a whim. It caught my interest because you make potions and sell them to the villagers to increase your profits and ultimately run your competition out of business. I thought; sounds interesting. Now that I have the game and have played it; I love it! When I start a new store in a village I can't stop until I have run the competition out of town. AND WIN! HeHe! Get the game it is loads of fun.Fairy Godmother Tycoon

A really fun addictive game with great replay value!

I waited for this game to go on sale because although these types of games are really fun I tend to finish them in a couple of days and can't see spending $20 on a game like that. But for $10 this is a great game! Much better than Lemonade Tycoon! If you liked Lemonade Tycoon (which I actually did) you will love this game!

Not much bang for your buck.

It's a fun game but it's easy to win and then it's done. Once a level is won it's not much fun playing it again.

Fairy Godmother Tycoon is not like Zoo Tycoon or Roller Coaster Tycoon.

All it takes to play is to set the variables (price, amounts, advertisement...etc.) and set the game into motion. There are a couple of spells that allow for changes after the game is started but they're generally useless.
