Not exactly a fun family game when the boxers don't do what you use the controllers to get them to do -- major delayed reactions. It seems like a bunch of random punches. We wound up with sore thumbs pressing buttons trying to defend against another boxer's punches, and all our guy would do is just stand there and keep getting hit. We couldn't read the print on the screen and the documentation to get help -- where's that? And WHY is it necessary to throw a bunch of scenes of half-naked women holding round cards after every round? I expected a TEEN rating for a little blood and violence, but not sleeze. I'm sure others love this game and perhaps understand the button techniques, but like I said, for us it was a disappointment, as we thought it would be better family fun but instead was frustrating.

I've got some seriously mixed emotions on this one.
On one hand, I absolutely love boxing games and feel that this one was done very well. On the other...I have some serious issues with the MULTI-PLAYER gameplay.
STAND-ALONE: Outstanding!! Easy set-up. Very real feel to the action. The training sequences...while repetitive, don't get too boring really. Love the way you can affect your boxers appearance with training! Customization gives you something other than just beating the crap outta people to look forward to.
MULTI-PLAYER: Poser-types that sit in the middle of the ring with a loaded haymaker are everywhere online!! That bread & butter style of gaming is the reason why games fail online. Hooray for you poser!! You found a way to win 99 out of 100 times with some junk-boxing that steals the realism and the fun from an almost perfect boxing game.
Great game in STAND-ALONE, totally frustrating in MULTI-PLAYER. You make the call.
Note to EA: Just get rid of the Haymakers! Increase the damage done by someone walking into a punch and you will have achieved the desired effect of that stupid Haymaker system. Also...please give up on the right analog stick punching system. The learning curve is too high for it, it gets changed to the button configuration by most people anyway, and it was just a bad idea in the first place. I know there was a push to incorporate that previously useless analog stick, but just because you can do something...doesn't mean you should.
Very real game!!!

Very good game, the carrer mode it's excellent you can create any boxer with very real caractheristics (in other words yo can create exactly yourself) the only bad thing is the loading times take so long...Overall is a very good game highly recomended!!!

First of all, let me say that this is a very good game. The animations and details are cool. Sweat and blood flying off of a punched face give the game a realistic feel. I would give this game a 5 except that I feel they should take a "maddenesque" approach to the carrer mode. It doesn't go into much detail on this front. I would like to see ea go into more of a detailed approach in this area for the next installment of this game. Overall though I would highly recommend.

Game is great. Quite a tough learning curve. Once you get it it gets better. It is frustrating though at one point when you are a featherweight and they make you fight a ultra heavyweight. Doesn't make much sense.

Ok Here are some pros and cons
PROS
1.Very life like boxers. signiture moves were pretty damn cool i must say.
2.The sweat beads and and facial expression looks so real.
3.Game play is pretty easy once you get the hang of it.
4.The sound of the fighting is really clear such as foot movement spit flying out of the mouth.
5.Great game to play with a friend and talk smack on. lol
CONS
1.Slow loading time when trying to create a boxer. Like changing hair,shoes,gloves,etc...
2.I really didn't think EA Sports took there time on some very easy detail such as the people in the backround. They all look like ps2 people. Ps3 is much more capable of better backround graffics.
Overall this is a great game and i would say go get it!
Best Boxing Game out there!

To tell you the truth, I had recently decided to never buy a game from EA sports again. Madden, FIFA, NBA Live, NHL Hockey, whatever, they are all expensive roster updates really. But I little money came by and I decided to buy a game. I checked out most games at my local store's shelves and I realized most games priced under $40 dollars were a joke. I finally decided to buy FNR3, thinking I would get what I paid for. But as soon as I played the game for the first time I was hooked. Everything about this game is cool, there's the music, the training, the lights, the brute force, everything. I can tell you this game looks better than most 1080p games such as MLB 07 the show, even though it only has 720p. Every detail is amazingly portrayed. If your fighter is a little chubby, after training for a couple of fights, you'll rally see the difference. The fighter will bulk up, the muscles will get really toned, and your veins will burst out of your head and arms. Even the round card babes look hot! Other features included are, create a champ, career, training, contracts, championship fights, and other cool stuff. Start your own career and get from a wannabe chump, to a legendary champ.
