I am not a huge boxing fan, but this is a PS3 game I can play over and over again. HD makes the difference. The graphics are amazing. The load times do get annoying after a while, but if you play it long enough, you will need the down time to rest your thumbs. Also, if your PS3 is online, you will get real-time ESPN sports ticker info at the bottom. I wish EA had put this into the game during the fights as well. it would give my friends something to read while they were waiting to get beat.
I love the career mode. I disagree with the post that it is nothing special. If you think things are tough, you can create a bigger, stronger fighter. If you think it is too easy, create a smaller fighter. There is a learning curve, but the load times offer helpful tips. Play the training game, it makes a difference. If you are still unsure about this game, all you have to do is rent it. Try the career and in-the-ring modes and you will be hooked.
this prize is too cheap for this game

this is one of those games that you can play over and over again because its never the same and you never get bored of punching the hell out of people in this game. the graphics are as good as they can get in the ring and you cant beat the way they set up the controls its like you really need skills to fight in this game thats why its so fun if you know how to fight and counter punch but the only small fault in this game that i saw was that the people outside the ring are boxy and they all do the same movement but who cares whats going on out thier anyway thats why i gave this game 5 stars. i bought splinter cell for ps3 and it was one of the best games ive played but i beat it in 2 weeks so thats the end of playing that game..so that brings me to this conclusion: buy this game because you can play forever and youll never get bored of it!

The game is a must for boxing fans. The graphics are great. The movement and flow of the game is realistic. The career mode gives you the opportunity to start as a young fighter, and box until retirement. The game includes signing the contract, training, and the fight including the corner work. You can fight different boxers for different rewards which include money fights, throwback fights, and popularity boost. You can also fight in some of the classic boxing matches like Ali/Frasier. It is a great over all game ideal for the boxing fan

I've got some seriously mixed emotions on this one.
On one hand, I absolutely love boxing games and feel that this one was done very well. On the other...I have some serious issues with the MULTI-PLAYER gameplay.
STAND-ALONE: Outstanding!! Easy set-up. Very real feel to the action. The training sequences...while repetitive, don't get too boring really. Love the way you can affect your boxers appearance with training! Customization gives you something other than just beating the crap outta people to look forward to.
MULTI-PLAYER: Poser-types that sit in the middle of the ring with a loaded haymaker are everywhere online!! That bread & butter style of gaming is the reason why games fail online. Hooray for you poser!! You found a way to win 99 out of 100 times with some junk-boxing that steals the realism and the fun from an almost perfect boxing game.
Great game in STAND-ALONE, totally frustrating in MULTI-PLAYER. You make the call.
Note to EA: Just get rid of the Haymakers! Increase the damage done by someone walking into a punch and you will have achieved the desired effect of that stupid Haymaker system. Also...please give up on the right analog stick punching system. The learning curve is too high for it, it gets changed to the button configuration by most people anyway, and it was just a bad idea in the first place. I know there was a push to incorporate that previously useless analog stick, but just because you can do something...doesn't mean you should.
Fight night PS2 Vs PS3

After owning Fight Night 3 for PS2 and playing it a lot, I did 6 career modes in different weights and losing it to a so called friend, I got the PS3 a few days ago and of course one of my favorite games was just there in the stand so I bought it for PS3.
I cant believe how disappointed I am, the fighters take time to appear, like after you finish training, there are a lot of glitches, specially when you knock them down, in the store some times is difficult to read, red letters over red background.
The only new things are the sweat of the fighters, the models that have tattoos, and new haircuts, and that is it.
Save yourself some money and buy it for PS2 and play it on your ps3 you will have a better experience.
The game is excellent for PS2 standards for ps3 not that is why I give 2 stars.

I bought this for my son's. maybe too complicated. I don't know. they are 10 and 6. graphics are pretty cool, although golden boy didn't look like himself. they seem to play it once in awhile and the screen gets too dark and you can hardly see the guy your fighting against. If it were a great game the boys would be playing it all the time. I recommend to older kids

Not exactly a fun family game when the boxers don't do what you use the controllers to get them to do -- major delayed reactions. It seems like a bunch of random punches. We wound up with sore thumbs pressing buttons trying to defend against another boxer's punches, and all our guy would do is just stand there and keep getting hit. We couldn't read the print on the screen and the documentation to get help -- where's that? And WHY is it necessary to throw a bunch of scenes of half-naked women holding round cards after every round? I expected a TEEN rating for a little blood and violence, but not sleeze. I'm sure others love this game and perhaps understand the button techniques, but like I said, for us it was a disappointment, as we thought it would be better family fun but instead was frustrating.

This is a good game but have some misses. The Load Times are too high and the carrer mode is nothing awesome. The Support of EA is very bad, I can't play on Network becasuse the EA servers are not available and the EA can't help me to solve that problem.
