A great game that nobody bought

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 5 / 6

The honest truth on this entire series of games (Blood, Blood 2: The Chosen, Blood 2: The nightmare levels) is that their competition killed them. The main competition of Blood 2 was Halflife, the game that has gone on to win so many awards it's not funny.

Blood 2 the nightmare levels is highly entertaining in it's simplistic brutality. Your job? Slaughter everything that lives on each level. In doing so you follow the story line that progresses through the game and interact with the other damned souls who stroll throughout the otherworld with you.

You play Caleb, the former leader of a group known as the Cabal, who was deposed and hunted.

Interactive game play with a decent AI. It takes cover, hides from you, and does it's level best to kill you at each step you take. The real drawback of the game is that irregardless of what type of monster is about to attack you you get to hear it announce it's attack. The grunts scream at you, the worms squish, the aliens hiss, etc etc etc.

If you can find a copy of this game, or of either of the two that come before, purchase it and see what you missed.

The add on levels were nothing short of fantastic. The gorilla fighting style on the opponents is even better. This game was way ahead of its time. I saw it on a friend's computer with 128Mb video card. The visual effects were so good!
