I hope I can stop you from making the same mistake!!!!!!!! PLEASE Read on........

Let me start by saying that I've been surprised to find myself a big fan of the recent Barbie movies and software. My daughter and I have enjoyed playing Rapunzel, Swan Lake, Princess and the pauper all multiple times. I didn't even hesitate to spend the $29 on this game. How could they have done so well on the others and made this one such a disaster?

The production quality is vastly different than the others. From the very beginning you notice a drastic difference. It's as if this was their very first attempt at making a software game. Maybe they haven't gone back as far as PONG or PacMan... but it's pathetically close!

You continually have to steer Barbie using the arrow keys and it's not at all a smooth ride. Sometimes it's as if you are behind her steering her and others you are suddenly over her head looking down at her. It's so awkward, will make you dizzy, irritated, and then eventually feel motion sick! Seriously, I have such a headache!!! I kept hoping it would get better, but I evetually quit the game and have no intentions of ever finishing or playing it again. I feel badly now that I got my daughter so excited about it.

I was really looking forward to enjoying this new game and now regret having spent money on it. At the time I ordred it there were no reviews. Hopefully I can save you from making the same mistake.

I bought this game for my 5 year old - who loves Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus. Big Mistake! My husband and I have had to help her with most of the game. Eventually, we all gave up. At one point in the game you have to use the mouse in a circular motion to change the "horse" into Brietta. We gave up because we all had sore arms from trying! If you want to buy a great "Barbie" computer game..choose Barbie Princess and the Pauper! The game is fun and my 5 year old loves it! This game was a Christmas present and I would return it if I could!!!

Four and 1/2 year old finished game in 3 hours with some help

We have a 4 1/2 year old girl (in preschool). She had seen the movie so knew the characters and the goal of the game. That is... to make the wand of light and conquer Winlock. She completed most of the game on her own. She did need help with the moving icebergs. She got frustrated when trying to move Annika onto the icebergs as they moved quickly. Other than that, she really enjoyed the game. There are lots of puzzle type games. There are matching games and I must say they made them challenging, which is good. It really makes the child analyze the pieces to find out which two are alike. Your child must have good hand and eye coordination to get through this game.

So, I say, buy this game if your child has had previous experience navigating using a mouse AND using the arrow keys on the keyboard. Your child also needs to know what the "space bar" is as it is used in the game to "jump" and "collect" things.

In comparison to Barbie Mermaid, this was definitely more challenging. Good game for 4 year olds and perhaps 5 year olds.

ARGH ~ I hate this game!!!

This is the first Barbie computer game we purchased. I was very disappointed in the quality of graphics and sound. It really reminds me of computer games from 15 years ago. I played the original King's Quest games and THEY were better than this.

There is little or no explanation of what or how to do anything and it is NOT intuitive. Yesterday, my daughter (5 1/2) was playing it and was told to stand on the circle matching the one Shiver is on. She did, and nothing happened. My husband tried, and nothing happened. I tried, and nothing happened. DD finally figured out (after MUCH time) that after standing on the circle, you had to press the space bar. There was no indication that was needed and no where else in the game (that I could see) was that a requirement for any other activity.

On top of the poor graphics, sound, and ease of use ~ the game is completely pointless. You just walk around and around and you keep looking for that (!!) Shiver! FINALLY after hours of play, my DD told me she found an area that you can play games. But, even to her, they seemed pretty lame. Of course, she keeps playing the blasted game because it is Barbie and she loves it.

Save your money! I got this 1/2 off at a Scholastic Warehouse sale and even THAT was too much. This is definitely not worth the aggravation.

Another Barbie Game!

You know folks, this is what IT IS - It's Barbie. This is a fun game that my 6 and 8 year old girls love to play. It is not an indepth game that will challenge their cognative skills. Its a fun, girly kinda game. But, they like to play it over and over again. What more can you ask? True, the graphics seem to be a step back. (OK, may be two or three steps backwards) but the game itself is fun and That Is What I Wanted. After seeing the amazing graphics of my husband's new game, Far Cry, it really acsentuates the disparity between the graphic quality of a 'grown up game' vs. a 'kids game'. I'd love to see such detailed graphics on a Barbie Game....wishfull thinking. But the game is fun. Simplistic, yes. But fun!

Terrible, terrible quality! Do not buy!!!

I bought this game for my daughter at Christmas and I wish I could take it back. She wants me to watch her play it but I can't, I get headaches watching it. The quality is horrible and the story line was changed but despite all that, she loves the game. It's very easy to play and she beat it within an hour. Next time I will definitely check the reviews out before buying and I hope you all do too!

Barbie Magic of Pegasus computer game review - fun but not enough guidance at some points

3 Rating: 3, Useful: 4 / 5

My nickname is StoryMaker. I got Barbie Pegasus computer game for Christmas from my grandparents a while ago, and it is a nice game. I got the game before the movie and when this review was written I still don't have the movie. This game has fun activities but some are too easy. A flaw is that I got really frustrated at the start because you have to practice everything before you can go to the Forbidden Forest and I thought that the winged horse ice skated so I didn't understand why it was locked up! No wonder when I clicked the help bell it just told me how to get off the winged horse. Another point without enough guidance is the Shiver stepping stone game. You had to select the stone that matched the stone that Shiver the polar bear stepped on. I had to go to the online manual to figure out that, after you stepped on the matching stone, you must press the space bar. The stepping stone game is usually too easy, anyway! I liked the jigsaw puzzles and the picture matching activity. A mistake is that at Wenlock's door puzzle, Annika says something like, "This must be a puzzle only Wenlock can solve!" Well, you solve it, so the statement is false. I like the map maze game and it is fun to knock all the items off the shelf. In the gem of ice maze game, a tip is move the gem slowly and make many short stopping points to avoid bumping the gem into the crystals or anything else. Another mistake is, why is being turned into a winged horse bad? It can't be lack of communication because Brietta can talk and Wenlock didn't have to choose winged horse - dogs and cats and lots of things can't talk. Brietta likes straw when she's a winged horse, so it can't be that. Also, the "spread Brietta with magic from the wand of light" game is long and boring. Also, the castle decorating game is annoying sometimes - painting rainbows is long and you can only paint it in the natural order and sometimes you can't put crystals in a place that you did on the other side. I know you can do it, but sometimes it dosen't work. There's probably more to say, but this review is too long already. Signed, StoryMaker. "Gotta trust the kid's review!"

Barbie Magic of Pegasus game is fun (I hate titles)

This game is very fun, but sometimes it can get a little annoying. For instance, the stepping stone game is veeeery boring and Shiver is sometimes a little rude in that game because she steps on the stone right in front of you. I did not find it very hard at all and in fact at some points it was too easy, but then again, I'm much older than the youngest reccomended age. A weird thing about this game is when you find the measure of courage and the ring of love they still have them after they make the wand of light. It is a bit hard to control Annika, and it took me a long time to realize that you have to hold down the arrow key to make her keep going. I like the games they have where you have to drag an object without bumping into anything and I like the maze on the giant's table but I wish the game didn't just do the same maze over and over. The game where you move the wand over Brietta is a veeeeeeery long game that is quite a bit frustrating and pointless. The game at the end where you fight Wenlock is a pretty good game, but something should happen where Wenlock hits you besides the fact that you get knocked back, and Wenlock shouldn't take so long to try to shoot at you.

All in all, this game is a great game. I suggest you buy it. (Boy, it seems like we're have a battle here about whether people should buy it or not!)

Signed, Russian Blue Witch.
