Good, not great

3 Rating: 3, Useful: 2 / 2

I was and am a huge fan of the road rash series, as well as the Moto GP series (the Xbox one, not the lesser, completely different PS2 game), and so this game felt like a natural fit. I was both happy and disapointed with this game, since I feel that it could have been all that and a bag of chips, yet remains an average arcadey racer.

GRAPHICS: Mediocre AT BEST. I can't believe that people are reviewing this game saying that it has great graphics. There is much, much better on the Xbox (in terms of racing games, check out Moto GP, Burnout 2, Project Gotham 1&2). The background are pretty nice, but the riders and their bikes are like first-gen PS1 graphics.

SOUND: Average. Can't really say that I noticed the sound, good or bad. It's inobtrusive and generally conveys the action pretty well.

CONTROL: Good. It's solid and gives you an arcadey sense of speed, and the tricks are pretty easily pulled. There is a certain "floatiness" to the controls, though, and it doesn't feel nearly as tight or precise as other games.

OVERALL: Decent depth (different modes) adds some replay value, but this is in many ways just a decent, average game. Fun for a while.

Road Rash style returns (just not from EA)

I bought the game because I was a big fan of Road Rash. This game brings back the same feel of high speed, knocking opponents off (no weapons though) and adds a few cool moves like a powerslide to go under obstacles. It also has tricks you can do but they aren't really going to help you in a race, they are put in to help you unlock new bikes and skins. Road Rash and racing game fans should get this game. You will like it. Anyone else, if you are unsure, try a rental first. The game does not support soundtracks, replay saves, or XBOX Live. Lets hope these features are added to Speed Kings 2.

Diehard video game player - Racing/First person shooter

We rented this game first just like we do all our games(getting pricey even to do that now). We will be buying this game when the rental runs out. In a word this game is very intense, and as another reviewer said, if you liked "ROAD RASH", this would be a modern version and then some. Racing at high speed, tricks, lots of tracks (you do have to earn them by unlocking), up to 4 players, split screen mode for 2 players, which is what my son and I did, is great on this game, most make it too small compared to single player, but I was impressed with this game. The split screen is top/bottom in case it matters to you. You will play this game again once its on the shelf. So for the money, not bad at all. I give it an A+!

FAST...almost too fast!!! RENT IT FIRST

I'll try to make this quick. I really like this game. It's fast, has great graphics, there's NO slow-down, plays at a solid 60 frames per second, has cool stunts to perform and lots of traffic. It's very much like the first BURNOUT, except you're on motorcycles. With that said, I couldn't give it a full 5 stars because I find it to become very frustrating and have to turn it off before I through the controller out the window. What I don't like about SPEED KINGS is it's too fast. When performing a stunt I can't see the traffic ahead and the turns are too close together making it very difficult to complete a stunt. Any reality is thrown out the window because of its ridiculously high speeds. Don't get me wrong...it's still very fun, but it can get frustrating. I recommend renting it first. It may be worth the few extra bucks to make sure you like it.

I would have to say that this is a pretty good game. u can do some pretty amazing wipeouts and its got decent graphics. you can do a bunch of cool stuff like skid under trucks and kick other people off thier motorcycle and ride some nice wheels. its not a must-buy game but check it out.

Do u like Superbikes and Extreme Street Racing?

**NOTE: Game has a major save error issue meaning some people can not and will not be able to save games. Just type in the player name ".meet6" without the quotes and you will unlock everything in the game.**

Shame that it has this bug on the PS2 meaning winning the game without the cheat is not possible for most.Bah.

If you ever watched the videos of Ghost Rider the infamous Euro biker who does 300KM speeds through town, then you may want to play something close to that, in which case SK is what you need. To be honest you are much better off playing MOTO GP on the PC or GP3 on the PS2 for a real bike sim, but for off road arcade then SK is really enjoyable... if you like bikes.

The graphics are little better than Nintendo 64 quality, but the crash physics are up there with Burnout 2, but not Burnout 3. The whole point to the game though is traffic weaving and if that is what you want then SK scores in aces. You can also do ramps, skids, stunts on the bike, boost and even surf your bike under a lorry. You play up against 5 other bikers over 14 big circuits and the rush of superbiking through the streets is all there. If that is what you want then SK is what you need. If you are not into bikes that much then drop it for a car game with better graphics but to be honest if you want to ride then do it on a superbike.

The next generation game producers who can make a game like the Ghost Rider videos should really win the bucks from the consumer if they can make something like that. Please do if you can.

i have every motorcycle game thair is,and moto gp 1 and 2 is probably most realistic, this game is alot of fun
you ride like R6s and speed triples, but they have thes little names like zoomer or aroumba,i guess so they dont get sued for using real bikes.
well you ride around a trck through the city, doing every trick imaginable
everything from handstands to stopies to surfing
it gets old kinda fast, but its very easy to play and is fun to just race around doing tricks and wreking
must have for all bikers

I bought this game from the Used XBox games bin for $2.99 and I'm glad that I got it cuz it's AWESOME !! I've played the N64 Road Rash and wasn't all to thrilled about it but this is thrill of a totally different level. I also got the Project Gotham along with this game from the Used Games Bin and this game is WAY better than the Project Gotham game. I Love how simple it is to do cool tricks like Surfing, Handstands, etc. I recommend getting this game. It's not what other say ... it's AWESOME !!! \(^U^)/
