Fuzion Frenzy brings the "party" style action game to the Xbox. A good deal of the games available for today's systems are complex and in depth, and don't offer the kind of quick 'n fun action that comprise a good party game. With support for up to 4 players, Fuzion Frenzy brings around forty mini-games in a futuristic city environment to the home. Anybody who's played Marble Madness, The original Tron videogame, or Beat Mania (PSX game from Japan) will enjoy the wide variety of competitive and cooperative challenges presented. Graphics on the revision of the game that I played stayed at a constant 60 fps, and had excellent lighting effects. The madcap "American Gladiators" gameshow atmosphere lends a lot to the atmosphere, especially if you've got 3 other live contestants. When this game releases, if you ever intend to throw a party and have people playing on your Xbox, this is the game to have. The games are simple and fun to learn, with each offering differing challenges for different types of players. Sumo was one of the most dramatic, as the longer you stay on the playing field, the smaller it gets!
If you intend to buy the Xbox and play it by yourself, this may be a title that you want to stay away from.
Great family or party game

Great game for groups of 2-4 players. I play this one with my kids (age 7 and 9) a lot - and they play it with their friends. Everytime we play we end up either laughing with each other or yelling at each other (in a loving way)!
It actually is a collection of about 30 futuristic arena games - so it has a lot of replay value. There is no bad language or sexual innuendos, and the violence is "mild" (comical). So it's okay for young children.
Some of the magazines (and users) have given it negative reviews, mostly because it doesn't fully use the Xbox console's graphical capabilities.
If you like to spend time with friends/family playing on your Xbox, then this is a great game for your collection. If you mostly play games alone and/or only like games that leverage the Xbox capabilities to the max, then you'll be disappointed with this one.
A great addition to the game library.

Fusion Frenzy was one of the first games to come out on Xbox, and it is still a great game to have around. It is a collection of mini-games based on individual or (on occasion) team competition. Each mini-game has a different objective and lasts on the order of a minute. You score points by having a strong finish in the mini-games, which ultimately may lead to an overall win.
Fusion Frenzy contains 45 mini-games; and, although many of them are just different variations of a theme, there is enough variety to give the game plenty of play value. Levels include things like collecting orbs, knocking pucks on ice, human cage sumo matches, smashing bugs, jumping or ducking over obstacles, etc.
This game is great to bring out during parties or when company is over (such as after the Thanksgiving meal). While the game can only accommodate a maximum of four players, I have played with as much as eight by rotating controllers. The mini-games move along fast enough that no has a chance to get board.
Of course, this game is not for everyone. If you are a hard-core gamer who spends more time with your Xbox than sleeping and attending school combined (or if you were thinking about purchasing this as a gift for said gamer), this probable isn't the game for you. But if your video games are more for entertainment, rather than a way of life, of if you have a household of kids who want to have light-hearted fun, Fusion Frenzy is a good bet.
Fun for kids, great set of games, simple and refreshing!

I enjoyed this game. It was cute, it has basically a couple dozen or so games all in one. There are a bunch of different littler games which one or more players could compete at a different goal. You switch between the various games and compete to get the most points. This is a wonderful game for kids and lots of fun to play with a bunch of friends. This reminded me of the simplicity of the early videogames like pacman and pong, lots of fun without a ton of added complexity and a huge ramp up time to learn bizarre controls. The goals are varied, new and interesting and the settings are cool and imaginative. I highly recommend it.

Okay, far too many reviewers have given this game bad marks because it has bad graphics, shallow characters and/or shallow gameplay. Apparently these people don't know what "party game" means! Generally, party games have bare-bones (but still somewhat impressive) graphics, simple, easy-to-follow gameplay, and little to no character development. In fact, party games that HAVE character development (such as Sonic Shuffle) just confuse the issue!
Fuzion Frenzy is one of the best party games ever made. Most other party games (such as Mario Party) have a board game or other such structure to hold the minigames together, and this usually ends up slowing the game down. Crash Bash was the first game to wake up and just be a collection of minigames, but the minigames were based on only a few different themes, and often got quite repetative. While FF has different themes like CB, the minigames within those themes have so much more variety. For example, the Hamster Ball minigames may have you racing hamster balls, trying to knock the other hamster balls off an ever-shrinking platform, or trying to run your hamster ball over as many goals as possible. The game allows you to play each minigame individually, or play the tournament mode. The tournament mode is a bit complex, and I'll leave the explainations to the instruction manual. Overall, this game was fun, fast, and enjoyable!
Oh, and contrary to popular belief, this game could NOT be pulled off on PSX! Trust me!
Bring your own Fusion to the party!!!

As a solo game this one should get about one star and a half... As a party game it should get four and a half stars...
Most of the four player games out there require you to obtain skills, learn complicated controls and/or moves. Usually person who owns the game would be the best, leaving no fair chance of competition. Fusion Frenzy is a game of quick hand, eye and most important luck. Yes, somebody may play this game million times yet you can still beat them if you are smarter. Before each out of approximately 30 or so levels you are given the instructions and directions. All players (up to four) see them at the same time so it's very fair. I played this game with my friends against each other, against computer and yes some things can be predicted yet every time the game is different. There is one game that involves sumo type wresting in steel round cages. Point is to push opponents off the platform. Game is so unpredictable that in first 10 seconds you may either bounce off the opponent and plunge down the abyss or just miss the target and fall off. The amazing number of outcomes (no matter how silly) generates endless laughs and puts a "guilty" player into shame. But shame last no longer than a minute. After that we are back into the new game and everyone has a chance for a payback. Again this is not an "action" game. No "Halo" assault drops with plasma rifle blasting or even close to it. This game was designed with multiplayer in mind. [Price] to pay for it is expensive so maybe pick up a used copy.
Partially I think this game is a [take] (sorry Microsoft you probably own those guys anyway) from a Japanese game called Poy-Poy for Playstation. But it's nice to see it on the Xbox.
A simple, yet very fun party game

Since I mastered this game and no one can beat me. I don't play this game anymore, but it gave me years of entertainment. Even my wife enjoyed it. I enjoy this game much better than Mario Party, because the AI doesn't cheat like MP.
It is like an Olympic style game in which you compete in 3 different games for orbs. After the 3 games are completed, you take your orbs to the final event for that area, in a game called fusion frenzy. Before the fusion frenzy game starts you can either elect to play your orbs or trade some or all of them for points. The goal of FF is to put orbs in goals scattered along the ground. The only catch is you can only pick or orbs of your own color, or the neutral white color. Meaning if you are the red player (Samson), no other player can pick up red orbs. You can also pick up and score with many orbs at one time for even more points. But watch out, other players can attack and take your orbs at anytime for themselves. After completing all the areas, the player with the most points is declared the winner.
There are 6 areas in this game all which have games that are relevant to that area. You can elect to play through all 6 areas or just 2 or 4. The six areas are Coliseum, Downtown, Outlands, Military Base, Power Station, and Waterfront. The amount of orbs you get depend on how you place in each game.
In total, there are 45 mini-games, not including the fusion frenzy matches. While a couple of games are corny and outright boring, most are pretty fun with a few of my favorites being:
BLAST MAN STANDNING
JET STREAM
ROLLER RUCKUS
ROLLMENTUM
RUBBLE ALLIANCE
SUMO
TANK TRACKS
TWISTED SYSTEM
WATER GATE SCRAMBLE
The graphics in this game are pretty basic, but that doesn't bother me one bit. I'd take fun game play and OK graphics over superb graphics and terrible game play (i.e. PGR) any day.
The sound in this game is pretty basic, but does seem to fit the game very well. You can also import your own tracks if you like, but I think the music provided matches the game play sufficiently enough.
My only gripe about this game is that you are limited to playing against the people in your room. There is no XBOX live support, which definitely decreases the lasting appeal of this game greatly. After playing hundreds of times with the same people you will eventually get tired of the game even though the CPU does fill in the two unoccupied human slots with AI controlled players. XBOX Live would have increased the lasting appeal of this game infinitesimally because you will always have new people to play with.
I would like to see a sequel keeping the same concept, but with possibly more characters and even more mini games. Also even though I cancelled my subscription, I would also like to see a sequel have XBOX Live support.
Surprsingly Fun

This is a great party game for you and three of your buddies. I know, it doesn't look like it from the screen shots but this game is an absolute blast!
If you have a group of friends who are competitive, you'll have a lot of fun playing this game. The games are relatively quick, and there will be plenty of time to taunt or trash talk your best friend that you just spanked.
This is going to be a sleeper hit for the xbox.
This game delivers -- it's a fun party game.

I bought this on impulse when I picked up my pre-ordered system. The previews I had read about it were all generally favorable. I haven't been disappointed; I'm still playing it both alone and with friends.
But it definitely works better as a party game -- my biggest complaint is that the computer opponents seem to rarely make mistakes even on 'easy'. For example, one of the most challenging scenarios we've encountered is Prop Rotation, where you have to collect tokens while jumping over or ducking under the propellor blades (getting hit = loss of tokens). The computer's scores were about 10- to 20- times our scores, and I don't think we're so bad at playing games....
Pluses are lots of variety, some genuinely fun & silly mini-games, and a few great retro games thrown in (can't believe no one's mentioned the homage to Combat here yet!) I don't mind the graphics because the gameplay is very smooth even when there's a lot of action happening everywhere, which leads to complaint #2 -- sometimes the characters get lost in the screen because it's zoomed back so far.
Overall I'm glad I got this game, and expect to be playing it for some time to come.
The Best Party Game Ever!

No doubt, this game takes the cake for multiplayer fun. There are so many games to choose from, that even the most sour-puss face will find at least one game to make them smile. My favorite is definately the "hamster ball" (my own title) game, trying to shove the other players off a diminishing circle of rings.....in, you guessed it, hamster balls. YES!!! I could play this one game for hours!! You will end up wanting to throw parties and have friends come over just to play this game, because it's not that fun by yourself....hence, the title of "party game".
Oooooh, but it gets better. (If your old enough) Start using it as a drinking game....who ever loses, drinks (that's 3 out 4 people -- and each game lasts about 2 minutes). People will be blitzed by the end of an hour! .....ah yes, and fun was had by all....
You want fun? This game is spewin' fun, just don't drink or eat anything WHILE your playing it....you might choke to death from laughing.
