Surprisingly good game play

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 18 / 20

I had a chance to preview this game recently and I was not expecting much. Lego's previous electronic games (mostly for the PC) have been bloated platforms with terrible graphics and so-so game play. However, this title is a complete turnaround from the previous examples. My 8-year-old is gonna LOVE this game!

Perfect game for young Bionicle fans

My 6 year old son is a Bionicle fan, and he also loves platform-style games, so this title is a perfect fit. I think that, for the target audience, the game is well done. It is short; my son beat it in two days all by himself (except for two fights that I did for him). It might be better if it were priced in the thirty dollar range, because of the length. But there is a good mix of action/platforming gameplay involved, and it never gets too difficult. If you die, you just restart the section you were on, with no penalty, no limit on "lives", nothing. Very kid-friendly. Argonaut Games also created the excellent I-Ninja, so there's a quality developer behind the title. The graphics are not really up to Xbox standards, but for a multi-platform release they are serviceable and do have some nice lighting effects. The story also ends up reflecting events in the Mask of Light DVD movie, so if you're familiar with that, it will add another dimension to the game for you. Bottom line: if you are wondering if this game is worth your money, I say yes if you are buying it for a younger Bionicle fan. It's a game he or she will enjoy and will actually finish in a few days (how many unfinished games do you have sitting on your shelf?)

It's pretty good.

This game will definetly NOT appeal to hard-core gaming fans, but fans of BIONICLE(which I am) and Kids should like it. It's fairly easy, but we just recently got an Xbox and this was the first game we tried on it(you can't try something like Halo and expect to be good at it right away).
BIONICLE fans might find something lacking about it, and I'll tell you: Not enough levels. The only Original Toa you can play are Tahu and Kopaka, and then you play all the Toa Nuva in turn EXCEPT Kopaka Nuva. Oh well.
Still, don't be put off by video game review websites or some lousy customer reviews. It IS a fun game, has some challenging parts, and has good graphics(not amazing, but still good). The stupid "bad camera angles" are junk talk, because you can control the angle(except for a few parts, but what it's doing is showing you the way)and it looks fine to me.
It's a great game, and pretty well designed for a Kid's game.

dissapointment

THis game has poor graphics, little gameplay, boring content, and does not deliver what has been expected. I had wanted a game that had all six toa in both forms but you never even see half the toas except in the movies, by the way the ones youv'e seen online, they're not on the game. I was able to beat this game in 4 hours. There were so many oportunites to make this game so much better but instead they went for the quick finish. i am extremely dissapointed in this game. i

12 year old bionicle fan.

I got this game for chrismas and I was very exited about playing it.I switched it on and the first thing I noticed was that the that the toa and the villagers look really different than they do in the movie and the toy.I beat the game in 5 1/2 hours. They make tou be toa Tahu in the start then Kopaka, and just from there you get the toa nuva, then you use Gali and fight all 6 bohrok kal with no help. Then Pohatu kills lerahk with no hand to hand fighting same thing when you use Lewa exept you're fighting Panrahk. Then you surf with Tahu and you have to get to Ta-koro before Kurrahk then the game kills Kurrahk you get the mask of light it puts itself on Takua and then you fight Makuta.Makutas way to easy for a bionicle as powerful as him.The game was fun and it was cool to use the toa but there is alot of things they could have done but they didnt. It certainly needs better graphics and more realistic characters.

This game helps bring the real BIONICLE lover to life. It is great for people who have been a fan of BIONICLE for a long time. It also is great for youngsters.

The only question is... when is the sequel coming out? I think that they should come out with a sequel. I love this game but this only involves the first toa's experience. What about the Vahki, The Toa Metru and so on. This game is great but it also needed some imrovements.

Nothing but FUN!!!!

At first we were so excited to have this game. But after played about 5 minutes, the display on TV screen started to be funny. each side(top, bottom, left and right) was cut about 1-2 inches(turned to black) and after a while, the screen was frozen.

I turned off the Xbox, tried other games and found out that the display of my "Dynasty warriors 4" and "SSx tricky" were not proper( the sides had been cut off), but my "Halo" and "Star war Jedi starfighter" worked just fine.

It looked like the "Bionicle" messed my Xbox in some way.
Does anyone else have such problem?
