My 5 year old loves this game

This game is really a lot of fun if you are five or just like to drive a car really fast. My son thinks this is the greatest game ever. The levels are way too hard for him so my husband and have had to open up all of the races. He gets very frustrated because he has trouble winning races but he mostly likes to drive the car around Radiator Springs anyway. The Grand Prix races toward the end are really hard even for us so we decided to use the cheat codes. We suspect that entering the cheat codes erased all the progress we had made because the last time we played everything we had collected was gone. This game is probably too boring for someone serious about video games but younger kids will love it even though they may be limited by the difficulty of the game

Not Really Worth the Money

I would not recommend purchasing this game. But, to be fair about it, I really did not have the patience to really sit down and learn the controls.

I gave it two stars because it was a little fun trying to crash into things and other cars. However, even that got boring after I figured out that they only put in three different phrases for the other cars to say and you can't break any buildings or scenary. It took me awhile to figure out where to go on the screen and it was disappointing when I did.

Once again, I'm going to have to say that this game is not worth the full $50.00. However, I don't believe I would re-purchase it when it comes down to $20.00 (if Wii games ever will).

BORiNG!

Not fun at all. Involves a lot of driving around aimlessly. I don't even imagine small children would like it.

Lots of fun for all ages.

It's a pretty easy game to play, all the controls are intuitive and easy to learn. There isn't much of a story line, you win an event and it unlocks others that you can play. The arcade mode gets a little boring after a while (I can only take so many left turns) but the road races are pretty cool because it changes things up and makes you be a little more creative to get around the corners with out crashing or going off course. Overall it's a pretty good game.

My 5 yr old daughter likes it...

We liked the the movie so much we went out and bought the game.

Graphics are eye catching and the Wiimote makes for some interesting air time when moving over jumps.

My daughter likes it and that's all that matters...

I'm a big Pixar fan, but not really a fan of this game

I purchased this game on a whim as it was "free" due to a Costco gift card I had received. I wish I had spent the money on some Salmon or maybe a box of candy. The characters and landscape are modeled/rendered well enough but I have not really been able to get into the story. I find the various levels of tasks overly repetitive i.e. tip more tractors over or find more piles of tires. The racing and drifting is fun, but I prefer something like Excite Truck over this for are pure driving/racing game.

It's just OK

The Cars wii game is just OK. It's nothing spectacular. For the age range I think Cars targets, it's not totally appropriate. The controller has to be handled just right so the cars stay on the track, the instructions are a bit jumbled and the games are just so so. My son thinks it's the bomb!!! However, he gets easily frustrated with this game, especially when the cars run off the track and he cannot get them back on.

Please stop making games based on movies!!!

Publishers like Activision, EA, and THQ are the worst. They use a considerable portion of their money to buy movie licenses, then spend more money on advertisement, and come up with games that are mediocore at best and in many ways a big let down of the predecessor movie.

Yet casual gamers are always known to be attracted to movie based games because they're something they can relate to and understand. The result is that underdeveloped movie based games sell well. The cycle continues with EA spending more and more money on buying licenses.

Cars is a typical movie based game you can find. Gameplay is by all means terrible. Yet it sold over a million copies worldwide because there's a large audience that enjoyed the movie and that makes all of them potential buyers of the game.

I am crossing my finger that those potential buyers of the movie based games soon realize that they're buying overhyped garbage and that there are way more funner games to play, because or else the game industry will continue to produce the same garbage over and over again for easy profit.

Still is horiible....

Thought the kids might like this. They did not. Pretty lame in most respects. Punctuates my convictions of the insidious nature in which mass merchandising in the entertainment industry churns out crap like this hoping to capitalize on branding. My kid also has a Cars lunchbox, underwear, remote car, toothbrush, the DVD, and of course - a soon to be Ebay'd Cars game for the Wii. I guess as long as suckers like me keep buying this for their kids, they'll keep making it. I need a tic tac...
