Great Game

This game is fun for individuals and groups. The game only includes fun and quality mini-games, which is more than can be said of most mini-game type games.
My young son can play it, though it does include a lot of text, so the first few times he needed someone to read the text to him. Also, some of the mini-games require reading as an integrated part of the mini-game, luckily the game types can be selected allowing young players to stick to what is within their reach. The game also balances nicely (auto difficulty), so an adult can challenge a child, if both have been tested (solo mode), and the game type is set to one which the child understands.
Also the general quality of the game is great and it makes great use of miis.

For some reason was not as fun or interesting as I thought it might be, it was fun the first couple of times playing it, then..not so much. Maybe when my daughter gets older she will use it, seems to be something she can enjoy and learn from.

The activities that are on the game are fun, but there is not enough variety and they quickly get "old"
Big on quantity of games. Little on quality and fun.

This DVD has 15 games but most of them are more suitable for kids or teens than for adults. Also, some of them have appeared in other games like Wii play. It looks like the game producer just tried to cram as many activies as possible into this DVD. Then they used it as a selling point. That tactic fails beause most of the games are not entertaining at all.
I'm glad I borrowed it from my friend.
Disappointing

With the hype surrounding this release, I had expected a higher-quality product. Although the Wii is not known for its graphics, Big Brain Academy falls so far below the graphics standard that (excluding the motion controls) this could have been an early 90s release. The areas within the game do become progressively harder...challenging even for adults. However, thinking of the potential this game could have had and that it is not a first generation release, I wouldn't recommend purchasing this product. You will have much more fun with Wii Play or Mario Party 8 if these types of games are up your alley.

While I was expecting something more graphics-intensive and varied, this game is fairly entertaining for all age levels. I've played it, as have my children. It's easy to understand and gives OK feedback.

This is the best "smart" game I have ever played. My girlfriend and I (over the age of 20) play against each other constantly. It is another low graphic Nintendo game that proves that bigger isn't always better. Compete against friends or your previous score. Is highly addicting when playing against other people.
Superbly FUN thinking game!!

This game really makes your brain think in fun different ways. Lots of different puzzles, game styles and competition. This game is tons of fun and highly recommended for ALL ages. Really fun competition solo (go for the gold and platinum medals) or with a friend.
HOW BIG IS YOUR BRAIN? Don't know? Well, find out! BUY THIS GAME!
FIVE STARS *****

After playing the DS version of Big Brain, I was really looking forward to playing this on our new Wii! However, I think for more than double the price of the DS version, this could really have been better.
1) The games don't seem as fun or challenging for the most part.
2) The Headmaster of the Academy needs to put a sock in it! There is WAY too much typed "chatter" to scroll through, when all you want is to keep playing. For example, after every Practice session, it goes through a long rigmarole just to tell you your score (there are fireworks sometimes as well), which might be nice once in a while, but not every time. That aspect is really tedious, and is unlike its DS predecessor. I'm still hoping there is a way to turn that part off (but it doesn't look likely).
All in all, I'm sure I'll keep playing with this one with my family, but it definitely could have been streamlined quite a bit.
