i thought that this was one of the best aerial combat games in existence. i loved it!! it was a little bad because there werent many secret planes (but the ones they had were awesome!) in my opinion the best fighter = nighthawk but dont upgrade its weapon it gets two missles but loses it homing capability but i should be talking about the game lol. it's a funny game (some of the cutscenes). heres my rating for individual things
realism 9.9
realistic sound effects 9.5
gameplay (the story) 9.9
sound 9.6
graphics (they were animated a little) 9.5
handling (how easy the controls are) 9.9 (it takes a few times of playing to get used to them tho)
overall 10.9

But it could have been better. The idea is quite fun. You fly around different areans and blow everything up. There are very few things that can't be blown up and that is appealing. There are several different aircraft to buy and unlock which also is very appealing. The planes are easy to fly and each have good and bad points. What's bad? For starters the graphic are good. But are no where near what the PS2 could and should be doing. When Gran turismo 3 arrives I think it is going to show us some of what this system is capable of, as well as shaming the other companies for the garbage that they have been offering to us. Most games are not much more than PSX standard and that's just ripping us off. The worst part of the game by far is the missions. At first it is interesting and a little different. But many of the mission are the same. To smae, they become very repitious after a while and a short while at that. This game had a lot more potential than the game is, and as usual that's 3DO's fault. 3DO has a very long way to go before becoming a good game company. They get good ideas and then always make them fall short. This is a fun game, but i'd be very wary of buying it. This is a renter.
Ok game

The game sounds interesting but it really isn't very fun. Graphics are Ok. Unless you really, really like flying around planes and blowing up don't get this game. (By the way I bought it a Costco for 15 bucks in the PS2 sale rack)
REplay value? How about some INITIAL play value?

Okay, considering the makers of the destruction league series seem to put in minimal effort and time to make these games, I think I should reciprocate. The game stinks, it's a knockoff of a knockoff that's a knockoff in the vehicular destruction genre. The only thing somewhat unique is the use of planes. Anybody who says otherwise is either a lobotomy patient or a zealot of the series. The End
