If you buy a game for graphics, then this is a game to buy. However if you buy a game for game play then this is not the game for you. Don't be fooled by other peoples reviews, well over half the game is movie, and I for one did not buy the playstation 2 to watch movies. The entire game you just run from one movie to the next, never really doing anything except maybe picking up a key. The problem solving is very simple as well, so simple in fact that it took me an afternoon to complete the game, my total time was like a little over 10 hours. Save your money and don't buy this cheese fest of a game.
I don't think so!

Yeah, the graphics and voice are cool but please...the actual game was sorry. I played through chapter 2 and stopped, I wasn't even remotely interested in what was going to happen next. You spend half your time reclining on the couch with the controller next to you watching a very long and boring movie hoping to god you get to play soon. I love murder mysteries but as far as I'm concerned Eike can stay dead because I'm not especially interested in finding out who killed him.
Awful. Not worth the money

I was SO excited about getting to play this game. I rushed through Silent Hill 2 to start this one and was so disapopinted. The theory and story line are good, as are the graphics. But the whole game was over with in under 4 hours. There weren't many choices given throughout the game so I don't imagine there can be much variation on the endings. It certainly is not worth paying $50 for and I have no interest in playing it again. The puzzles were stupidly simple and there was very little thought needed to go into "where do I go next?". Save yourself the money. Rent the game from Blockbuster for 5 nights... you'll have it solved in 4 hours anyway!
Well done....

but - it gets just a little frustrating after awhile. You get used to just punching the O button to get the talking scenes over with, and then you discover - ooops, they really said something different this time, and suddenly the clock ticks and you're DEAD dead. Well, lets do it again - just to discover you get the same ending the third time you played through it as you did when you first finished it. Also it really isn't MASSIVE. First time I played through was under 4 hours (well, considering that I only solved like 24% or so in some chapters, but HUH? What else was there to do!?). Second and third time was like 3 hours or so. Which is easily accomplished, cuz you really don't have to listen to EVERYTHING they babble on about.
I'm going to try to get all the endings, just to see if Eike can live happily ever after with Dana or something. So far my endings weren't really that satisfying.
Graphics are awesome, by the way!
Just OK

The story line is somewhat interesting, but the graphics are not that great compared to other PS2 games. It is not too difficult to figure out what you are supposed to do, but it IS difficult to accomplish each thing that you are supposed to do.
Overall this is a much better game to rent than to buy. If you keep at it you can make it through the entire game in 1 or 2 rental periods, and once you have gone through the game once, you will probably not want to play it again.
i loved it

I thought traveling back in time and saving myself as well as others was fun. I liked finding out that Homunculus was just using me and how later I found out that Eike was Margeret and Hugo's father.I liked how I had to figure out why I was getting killed. when I played it the second time I payed real close attention to who was trying to kill me. When I traveled back in time to the day before the fire started at the restaurant I found out that Hugo had started the fire with a cigarette and a peice of paper. But the first time I played it I was wondering what was happening because the fire didn't go out until later. The same thing happened with the tree and the flowers.
this game is craaaaap

This game was completely boring and as soon as I beat it (under a day mind you) I threw it away.
A great game with a great story!

This game is a great game. It has a very good storyline and pretty good graphics. If you like games where you have to use your brain and solve stuff, this is your game. The characters are well developed. My only complaint is that the game is not long enough. I can beat the game in a couple of hours. If they make a sequel, I would like it to be a double disc so there can be twice as much. even that little complaint can't take away from this game!
Love the game!

Does anyone know if there will be a sequel to this game, or are there any other 'choose your own adventure' games that are similar to this?
