I've had this game since I got my PS2, so this was my first close encounter to PS games. I hadn't played any videogame related since Pokemon. Now, I actually made it to the third level in a day so I supposed this one may not have been actually so difficult. I think this game is nice but sure some times gets tedious when all of your quests are quite the same.
Though, the extras are great! I recomend this to any Monsters Inc fan and not very young kinds (-6).
Too tough for younger kids

I bought this for my 5 & 7 year old sons. The graphics do look great but it is too tough for them to play. They got frustrated very quickly with the puzzle like play. I think this game would be great for preteens.

I bought this game for my daughter because she simply adored Monsters Inc and really loved the first playstation game. But even though it's rated E, it's a pretty hard game for smaller kids. My daughter is six and it frustrated her to no end. She didn't know what she was supposed to do, and when she finally figured that part out she didn't know how to go do it. I really wished I had rented it first instead of blowing 40 bucks on something she played for a total of 20 minutes. My advice for parents: rent it before you buy it, especially if you're buying with younger children in mind.
Not for everyone!!

I run a daycare and my kids love the Monster Inc. movie but this game is to hard for them. It is rated everyone but there is to much reading and it does not hold their interest. I am sorry that I wasted $... on this!

Well I have to admit that I cannot play this game much because #1 I never get a chance because my DS (4) or DH is playing. This game seems pretty easy but can be a bit of a challange to learn at first for those younger. My son cannot read yet and understands (not sure how) what to do. He has made it to level 5 already and is so GOOD. He can (if I let him) play for hours. This really is a fun game!
Boring, tedious, fussy...

This game is okay at first, but becomes tedious. You get to a point where you know what to do, but the control of aiming is too fussy. When you need to use bouncy boxes you can't look around to aim- actually in general you can't LOOK Around- duh Sony and PIXAR![.] Once you nearly complete a level there are too many CDA guys around to arrest you. Not only are there tedious repititious places where you get stuck- in other places manipulating and jumping -often with your vision blocked- have to be timed right! I have become stuck on the garbage level, though I know what to do!- but haven't enjoyed any of the levels so far. I don't intend to try to finish it- it simply isn't worth my time! I don't like the clips because I have the movie - the game costs money- it should be good in it's own right without marketing at me yet again!
Rubbish![.]
Good but tough

I rented this game to see if it would be worth the buy for my 4 (soon to be 5) year old and I would say that it is a good game but it can be somewhat frustrating because of the graphics in the dark background. In the garbage level and other scenes where the background is dark it is almost impossible to see what is there. We got around this by playing at night and turning off the lights. I might buy this, but likely used from a store that had a good refund/exchange policy.
Tedious movie tie-in. Avoid or rent.

Typical hack rush job movie tie in. Graphics are horrible. Voices VERY obviously different from the movie (Why? It is Disney after all). Gameplay is tedious. My six and eight year olds played this stinker for about an hour then got bored. Avoid.
GREAT GAME FOR ALL AGES

This is one of the best games that was based on a movie yet, the graphics are great and younger players will enjoy the creativity!
