It's so easy to pick a game to shreds..King's Field it isn't, but that's a good thing. First thing you'll notice is you get two games in one. You can play two main characters in the game (one male the other female) and the adventure for each is quite different. Overall, I found this to be an enjoyable game with good eye appeal and playability, so I'm left scratching my head as to why all the bad reviews.. with so many game titles out there that are much worse (and more expensive) - try this, you may like it.
IT COULD OF BUT IT DID NOT.

Evergrace first and formost was born to late, it may have been special if it was released 7 years ago, but it was not so here we have a PS2 game with ps1 graphics it's a sure recipe for failure, then we have the sound by the way it's not really sound it's vernacular sound distortion.
This not for a gamer maybe for a 8 year old kid who have never played any RPG's it's no zelda or final fantasy.
However i kinda enjoyed this game so forget the bad review you can certianly give it a try, you may like it's barbie appeal well laterz folks and gamers
Lighten up, guys...

Okay, I've seen some people in love with this game, and some who seem to loathe it. Well, I happen to like it. It's fun, and if you have a sense of humor, the parts with speech are funny as heck. Seriously, if you watch the bad guy, Morpheous, while he is speaking, and don't laugh, you have issues.
However, I also agree that if you have issues with psycho cameras, stay away. I'm not done yet, but so far my biggest challenge has been the camera, not the monsters. On the upside, you don't really have to worry too much about sneak attacks from behind while running, since that's usually where the camera points... ^^()
So yeah, if you can live with some weirdness, and camera issues, get the game. If you don't believe me on this, rent it. If it drives you nuts, stay away. And, thanks to my friend who borrowed this from me for a bit, beware the ending, which leaves things to be desired, apparently.
For the love of your sanity...

... do not buy this game. Don't rent this game, either. In fact, don't even borrow it from a friend thinking, "Hey, I'm not paying any money and I have a few hours to kill, so what could I lose?"
This is easily one of the worst RPGs I have ever had the misfortune to play. Ever. The plot is contrived at best due in part to an absolutely ATROCIOUS translation (which can't settle on how to spell the names of important places/people). The psuedo-new-age music seems to be interesting for the first five minutes, but the utter lack of variety in the soundtrack had me wanting to claw at my eardrums so I wouldn't have to suffer through it any more.
The battle system is very broken; you could be standing right in front of a monster and still not hit it no matter how much you swing at the fool thing. The upgrade system you use for your equipment is also fundamentally broken. You need to repair your weapons and armor every few monsters you kill; more often if you use the special abilities certain items grant you. And this is VERY expensive. I was so frustrated because it seemed like by the time I'd killed enough monsters to recoup the cost of the last repairs, it was time to repair again.
The only redeeming feature of this game is the graphics. Even though they're a little crude by today's standards, they're still nice to look at in some cases. Also, the character model will change depending on your equipment, so your character could be running around with a pumpkin on her head or a metal pot on his head.
Overall, it's not worth it, though. I never once thought that I'd get a headache just thinking about playing a game, but that's really how bad I found this game to be.
Pathetic

What a waste of time! I felt robbed out of an hour and a half of my life that I wasted just playing this dog before I turned it off in disgust! Horrible graphics, sound, game play, and story.

If anyone thinks the controls for this game are hard, they must have only 1 finger. This game puts you in the role of a guy or a girl. It is a game based solely on equipment. Well, there is one stat that does help you, but there is only one. This game has an odd combat system (the harder you hit the button, the more force is in your attack) that may seem a little strange at first, but it does get better. And the graphics are a bit cheesey. The part that I see the most people getting stuck on is a very long/boring maze. That is not a good thing to have so early on. The game though, is an rpg nonetheless, but an odd one. So if you are looking for repetetive violence and strategy, I sugggest this game.
Totally AWFUL!!!

my gosh!!! The whole little movie in the begining was bad, and I totally didn't understand it at all. If I had a choice I think I would give this game a 0, and I'm sure Japan can do a lot better than that! The graphics were great, and everything else was great, but the story line I must say sucked! So if your planning on buying this, SAVE YOUR MULAH FOR SOME OTHER good game!!! like ATV Ofroad Feary 2 or Midnight club 2!!!

This was entertaining--briefly. Dress-up was kind of fun, in other words. But let's be honest with ourselves here--this is a terrible, terrible game. Boring, incoherent, and repetitive. Don't do it.

The game EverGrace is one of the best games i have ever played. The graficts are great and the music is good. The gameplay is a little confusing but quick to figure out. the bosses are awesome! On a scale from 1 to 10 this is a 100000000000000. I extremely suggest buying it.
