Great overall game so here are the pros and cons:
Pros: The graphics are amazing and the levels are detailed to a point that you almost forget that you are playing a videogame. The producers thought out every aspect and like any good game has no glitches (which surprised me). Also now Coco, Crash's sister is now fully playable in 12 different worlds and 3 secret worlds. Also there is a new lineup of exciting bosses who have their own totally different personalities. After defeating the boss you get a special power or move. In addition, each level or world has a new truck or form of transportation.
Cons: This game is difficult to play because the graphics are so good. Sometimes you get confused because, for example, many times i have gotten confused thinking that i was jumping right on the edge and you actually fall into a hole! Also the loading time is outrages!!!!!! It can take up to 7 minutes to load one level. You have to have major patients for this game. I wouldnt spend the money on this game if I were you. In my opinion crash bandicoot 2 for playstation is much better. Even though it is for playstation it still works for playstation 2
Good game, but SLLLLLLOOOOOOW loading times.

This game has a strong plot. It also has great views. But the load times, AACK! It takes about a minute to load at the first screen, then after you enter your name it takes about 45 seconds, then 30 seconds in and out of the level.
Don't get me started about the controls. They are way too sensitive. Once in the first level, where the islands are, I jumped like you normally would in a Crash game, and I jumped too far! Also, it's very hard to dodge things.
I'm sorry to say this, but Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath Of Cortex went way below my expectations. Especially since it is on the PS2. Although, I read somewhere that the PS2's come with hard drives that producers can save things, so they load faster. Like in FFX, they probably saved on the hard drive, along with GT3. I guess that Vivendi didn't get in on that deal. Nonetheless, I give this 3 stars.
Its great great and its just great

I still say that the first one is the best, but this would have to come second of the bandicoot list. Take it from me, I got the first crash bandicoot game when it FIRST came out, and I know my crash games. This game is one you should consider if trying to buy a game soon. The graphics are great for the PS2, the gameplay is great as well, with about 30 levels (5 are secret), and you can be both crash and coco. And, for the first time, crash can drive the vehicles, not JUST coco. Overall, it's a good game if you can wait a couple minutes on the loads from level to level. After having the game for about a week, you'll get used to it......great game!!!

I don't know why,I guess I had CB withdrawal symptons, I purchased CB4 this weekend.
I had read the previews last year and as a previous CB fan was slightly put off due to the change of developers and its noted similarity to CB3.
Okay, so I liked it because it was familiar and thats a comfort but ITS NOT EXCITING!
CB3 was familiar but still had new stuff that kept an interest - new level scenes, equipment interaction, extra powers and the time trial mode gave additional play and value to the game. Also it was still FUN.
Apart from the load times, that I was unaware of, the worst thing is the lack of fun and surprise. With the enhanced capabilities of the PS2 the graphics are smooth and visually good when moving through a level with changing camera angles, but somehow Crash lacks character. The likeable 'stupid dog' from previous does not make me laugh like before - the victory dance or the baby polar bear ride for example.
No surprises in format, same 5 levels, beat the boss, move on, secret levels to find etc make it tedious as you know what to expect.
What I liked - The new level scenes were imaginative and well presented but thats about it.
What I also disliked - Levels were too easy - too easy to get past enemys - but for some reason some bonus levels were harder. You can die too easily and it is frustrating to make the hard things in the game just jumps when you have to die many times in an atempt rather than the mental side of working out how to do something.
For a previous CB fan it is a labour of love to complete and if I had read other reviewers comments I may of given it a miss. But I am still glad I didn't as you can't keep a good dog down despite his faults.
For someone new to CB I would rate the game ahead of the others basically because of the extras inherited from CB3 and being on the PS2 platform with its enhanced graphics.
For all CB fans lets hope the next one is more of a challenge.
