I just downloaded some movies of this game and I have to say that this is gonna be a great game. The animation is so smooth, the characters move like real persons. ... I'm buying this game. Dance and rythm games are very fun and that's what gaming is for.

Wow! I recently got the opportunity to preview this game, and I must say that it is incredible! While I love Britney, I was dreading her video-game debut. I was wrong.
This game is very original and fun. I'm impressed.
The controls seem complex to learn, but they're really a snap. The game gradually gets harder and harder, and before you know it, you're playing it like you made it.
Anyway, I strongly suggest purchasing this game, even if you're not a Britney fan. You never know, it might 'convert' you. ^_^.
Who created this game???!!!!!! What a waste of time and $$

Game developers made a video game based on the rock band, Journey, back in the early '80s - because they were a great talent....now, we are going to have a video game based on a flesh-baring, pin-up girl "singer" - who has NO talent! The Britney gamer gets to dance her stage act in their own living room.....whooooopeeeeee! This "game" will be in the bargain bin a month after it's release. If you do purchase this game, you'll be singing to yourself "Oops, I Did It Again (30 Dollars Down The Drain)"!
A Britney game? I'll buy it!

Would I buy this game? Damn right I would. I'm a 21 year old male, and a die hard Brtney fan. I'd be willing to shell [out money] to own this program. Well, don't take my word for it.
Will NEVER be as good as Dance Dance Revolution!

As a REAL back-up dancer, and hardcore player of the game that Britney's was based on (the arcade game Dance Dance Revolution) I can honestly say that this her's pales in comparision. I mean, your playing the game and the best you can ever hope to be is BACK-UP, and HER character's not even playable? What up with THAT? If you're looking for a real challenge and a wider variety of music (Jazz, Pop, Techno) stick with the original and buy Dance Dance Revolution for PS2, or get your butt in gear and go play it at your local arcade. :o)
another screw up in the making

Well two stars just because I like Bemani type games...I find it a disturbing fact that they would dilute the bemani playing field with a game based off of britney spears songs. sure one or two nsync, backstreet boys, or britney songs mixed in to ddr or beatmania is ok but an entire game????...anyways, find it kind of sad that this kind of game has to be for the ps2 probably would get a bigger audience if it was for all the playstations. either way most of britney spears songs are a bit too slow for my liking to be able to do ddr type stuff on it...
Not bad.... but could have been more

Since I am a fan of the music/rhythm game genre, I picked up Britney's Dance Beat yesterday. I went into the game with very low expectations, and while I was surprised that the game wasn't really that bad, I found out quickly that there really isn't much to it.
The whole premise as everyone knows is that you are "auditioning" to become a backup dancer for Britney Spears. To do this, you must compete against a computer-controlled opponent through 10 stages... which culminates in a dance against Ms. Spears herself. There are five Britney songs used.... which is my main complaint of the game. There are 10 stages, so why not have an additional 5 songs? The songs used are mostly her "hits"- "Baby One More Time", "Oops! I Did It Again", "Stronger", and "I'm A Slave 4 U" join another song called "Overprotected" (off her latest cd). You select one of 6 different dancers and proceed through each of the five songs, however the song is chopped in half on stages 1-5, then you dance to the full version of the song in stages 6-10. If you don't like these tunes, you may want to avoid this game as you'll be hearing plenty of them!
The gameplay mechanics are simple. A green bar revolves at a constant rate throughout the stage. As the bar passes over a controller icon (circle, square, X and O), you simply press that button. This is easier said than done though, as there are often times when you have to hit at least 8 or more icons in a row within a very fast time frame. Add in the occasional directional arrows and the game can get rather difficult in its later stages. And if that wasn't enough, each time you press 10 consecutive buttons (without missing the beat), you get a "Combo Attack", which causes havoc to your opponent's dance meter. Of course, the computer can do this to you as well, and in later stages, he/she throws some seriously cheap attacks your way. The whole goal of the level is to dance better than your opponent.... which a bar at the bottom of the screen keeps track of. Clear the stage and you earn points to use on "backstage passes". These are simply unlockable videos of Britney that feature behind the scenes footage, backstage footage, and concert videos that you can rotate and zoom in on. The footage on these is rather grainy... and you can't zoom in very far, so don't expect much. While I have yet to reach the Final Stage, you do eventually dance against Britney and you just might become a back-up dancer. Whoo hoo!
Overall, Britney's Dance Beat is a fun little game, and a rather guilty pleasure. The graphics are pretty good, the sound quality is excellent, and the controls are very responsive. If you're a fan of Britney, I can't help but say to try this one out. Otherwise, it's worth a rental and not a purchase as there is just not enough in the game to keep you interested for a long period of time like "Frequency" does.
pretty good

i gave this game 4 stars because its average
at first it was really kewl but after playing it 4 a few hours u get bored. when u first play the game its really really easy but towards the end...it gets extremely hard i can only get up to audition 8. there're only 12 leves and 5 songs nd 6 characters. Also everytime u choose a new character to play you havta start new game.. id rather choose a new character withot starting a game. Also u can't see the commands that it gives u becuz there'r too any bckround colors too many things r going on to see wut ur dancer is doing... the graphics r crisp and very smooth nevertheless. the dancers move smoothly and cleanly. also the extra fotage and rehearsal footages r amazing... overall good game but lacks in length
