A good arcade to home version

I played X-Men vs. Street Fighter a few times in the arcade and when it came out for the Playstation, I couldn't wait to play it. It's not a disappointment, it has good graphics, sound controls, and it's a lot of fun playing against someone else. The combos are killer and that's what makes this game so fun. It's not hard to do the character's moves either. If you like fighting games and you have a Playstation , I would recommend getting this game.

False-advertising, worse-than-ever version...

This is the worst game in the universe. You'd think it be pretty decent... They fooled you. I wish I'd rented it before buying it. It's slower than ever and guess what? You only pick one character. No parter switching stuff and they toned down the moves and comboability. Don't buy it. Trust me, it stinks.

STREET FIGHTER LOVER

THIS GAME WOULD BE THE BOMB BECAUSE I HAVE PLAYED IT BEFORE, EVEN
THOUGH YOU CANT CHANGE THE CHARACTERS YOU CAN HAVE LOTS OF FUN
ON YOUR OWN OR WITH YOUR FRIENDS.I HAVE TWO OTHER GAMES JUST LIKE
THIS ONE. FOR INSTANCE {MARVEL SUPER HEROES VS STREETFIGHTER}ITS
JUST THE SAME THING AS {X-MEN VS STREETFIGHTER}AND ALSO
{MARVEL VS CAPCOM} SO WHO CARES IF ITS NOT GOOD AT LEAST
ITS JUST ALMOST THE SAME THING YOU PLAY IN THE ARCADE.

HERE IS A TIP FOR YOU PEOPLE. WHEN YOU FINISH A MATCH WITH YOUR
CHARACTER IF YOU WANT YOUR OTHER CHARACTER HOLD THE THREE PUNCH
BUTTONS RIGHT AWAY OR YOU WONT GET HIM/HER AND HOLD THEM DOWN
UNTILL YOUR OTHER MATCH STARTS.

this game is awesome,i only played it in arcade and i loved it in fact i past it with one quater(since i'm the best ryu user alive).buy the game and when you have it choose ryu and ken(since this game as a 2 on 2 fighting action, that's awesome)they have the best combo ever, ryu knees down and ken is standing up,they both use this huge "aduken" that covers the whole screen, its like 52 hits and you only used 1 level(for those who know about the level attacks).the game has good graphics, great backround(3D)you can jump like 20 feet into the air and do some 40something hits,so if you're a begginer at this buy and try it out(i know there no one out there with no experience whatsoever with street fighter or x-men but you never know).good game buy it.God bless you,be good and accept Jesus as your saviour(amen),Jesus rocks.

this game is great for x-men and street fighter fans!!!

this game is great for street fighter and x-men fans.the combos are realy awsome and whene you do a counter move your partner jumps in and does his with you too.this game has original favorites like Ryu,Akuma,Wolveren, and much much more even though the but the super combos are a way off because of that cut screen that comes out when you do a super combo' witch i think is dull, the animation is a 8.5 but the game play is 4.7, they should'nt have taken the team tag witch was a major point in the arcade version, next time see ya later.

What was Capcom thinking?

I actually played the Saturn version with the 4MB RAM cart, and I have to say that the PS1 version SUCKS! Why? Because tag-team was taken out because the PS1 could not handle it. It did not have enough RAM (Random Access Memory) to switch fighters since it takes about at least 40 MB of RAM, and the PS1 only has 32 MB. If Capcom did put in tag-team, then it would take forever to load up a character once you tag-team with it, you can tag-team with the same character, but it does not feel the same.
I suggest get a Saturn, (it is only $10 bucks or less) get a 4MB RAM cart which you can find at EB.com, or any Video game store, and get the Import version of X-men vs. Street Fighter, trust me you wont be disappointed.

This is like the classic X-Men game or the classic Street Fighter game. If you like both you'll like this, alot! This is a game where you can be Street Fighter and X-Men characters like spidey and that big fat guy from Street Fighter. Now that youve heard this go out and kick some butt! Hakoonah (that means good luck!)

this game ROCKS!!!

This game kicks. I played games similar to it in the arcades and I knew I had to play it. It's fun doing special combos on the enemy. If you like X-MEN or Street Fghter then you'll love this game alot. The attacks look really cool, even though it lacks in graphics. The game has all the origonal characters from X-MEN and Street Fighter. You should really buy this game.

A completly Washed out version

i won't get this game, it's a complete disgrace to the arcade version. no tag team feature. major slowdowns, the graphics are completly washed out as if a ravine's water ran over it. and i don't understand why these sellers are selling their copy for [so much money]. this game should be selling for [far less]. only more reason not to get it. do not buy any Vs game for the Ps one all of them the tag team feature has been taken out.

Butchered arcade to home conversion

To say that the PS1 version of Capcom's X-Men VS Street Fighter is butchered is saying it lightly. What made the game so great in arcades was the tag-team feature in which you picked two fighters and could switch at any time during the fight. This feature made for great fighting fun, but because of the PS1's RAM inabilities, that feature had to be omitted. It's obvious Capcom released this game to make a quick buck on the X-Men and Street Fighter licenses, and while on it's own it can be a solid fighter without the tag-team feature, the graphics are painfully watered down, the game is loaded with sloppy frame rates, and there is loads of slowdown. If you can get past all that, this may be worth checking out if your a Street Fighter fan, but the Marvel VS Capcom games that would be released later on next-gen systems are more worth your time.
