Packed with ugly graphics, boring and slow gameplay, Toy Story 2 is an game that really sucks. The movie was boring, but this is worse. Disney/Pixar and Activision made an terrible diaster in every level, combining ugliness, boredom, stupidy and gameplay so bad that it is more boring then Spice World, which is an historical Lame-Game. Don' t buy it, Don' t try it, AVOID IT!!!!!!!!

Disney & Pixar should stick to making movies

I got this game because my 3 year old son loves Toy Story and always wants to watch me play playstation. I figured this would be perfect. He thinks it's amusing when Buzz falls down, which is a lot. The controls are so lousy that performing simple tasks such as running straight across a beam or board is very difficult. The camera almost never lets you see where you are going, so you fall off objects this way too. It's way too frustrating to play because even completing these tasks isn't rewarding, you just move on to more. You can't see where you are going, over jump objects all of the time, and fall from places that are a pain in the [behind] to get to anyway. If I want a game that's difficult, it should be hard to figure out or there should be tough battles. Walking and jumping should not be the challenge. UGH!

very frustrating game

I bought this game for my 7 year old son, expecting it to be a good one. The graphics are average (better graphics can be found with Spyro, year of the dragon), and the levels are very frustrating, I found myself throwing the controller away several times trying to help my son get through the levels, even though I consider myself a good gamer. I finally recommended my son to play Spyro the dragon instead to avoid anymore frustrations. I won't recommend anyone to get this game.

This game has tons of nice graphics and the overall idea of it is good. On the other hand I don't know how a child would ever be able to beat this game. I am 26 and I had trouble with it. My son and I had to go online to get hints on how to advance in this game after the 5th level. Some parts of this game were so frustrating and monotonous that I had a strong desire to throw the t.v. out of the window at times. Finally I beat it, but long after being driven crazy for hours. The guide book (or insert) that comes with the game doesn't provide much help either. I would say that it's 40% great and 60% frustration. Poor kids.....

After Spyro 3, this stinks for a youngster

My almost 5-year-old and I got hooked playing Spyro 3 earlier this month. We've been playing endlessly. To take a little break we tried out Toy Story 2. What a disappointment. I don't think the graphics are that great, unless you're comparing them to a Super Nintendo. And the games are MUCH harder to play. We couldn't figure out what we were supposed to do in some rooms, and the skill required to complete most of the tasks is just beyond my youngster and I.

My other complaint would be with the help/instructions on-screen. In Spyro, the characters read aloud the messages as they appear on the screen. This means he can play the game by himself. But because he can't read, he can't get help or hints on-screen.

While he does seem to like it because of the characters, he just can't play it by himself, and his frustration level is pretty high with this one. Not to sound like a broken record, but if you've got a younger child, try Spyro 3 (or 2 or 1).

Toy Story 2 is a good game. It has it's fair share of mind-blowing colors and characters but its worthy of three stars only. While I would say that the original story and the graphics are worthy of five stars, the gameplay is the problem. This game is geared toward children and its cartoonish features and snappy music will appeal to them. However, the controls are overly complicated for kids and the levels are frustrating more often than not (reminescent of A BUGS LIFE). But then again, kids usually figure things out before adults so maybe I'm the problem...who knows. Rent it first to see if you are interested in the purchase.

I only got this game last week after seeing the film, but I have played on it lots of times I like the graphics and it has bits of the film in it as well. It is funny, not too dificult and I have been in all the levels, my older brother thinks its a good game too. I recomend it to all Toy Story fans.

Enjoyable by adults and kids alike, but geared for the youngest.

It's hard not to love Buzz Lightyear, and this allows kids to be him in a fully 3-D game which is not too violent.

It gets somewhat repetitive bouncing around and zapping other toys, but my 6 yo son loves it.

This game is very different from any other Play Station game. But that doesn't mean it is dumb. When I first played it, it was hard. But when you really get into it. You will be stuck on that game. It's very addicting. I recommend this game to anyone who likes a great adventure.
