I'm actually 19 but I don't have an account here. Just wanted to mention that I have loved this game since I first played it 6 years ago. At first glance it looks a bit childish with the brigth colors and kid friendly graphics but then again alot of great games appear that way at first (mario, sonic, pokemon, ect.) In any case in these past 6 years I am YET to play a game as unique and entertaining as Tomba, I wouldnt say it's my favorite game but it would definatly make my top games list. It is simply charming, has a solid story, and a very unique style of gameplay which proves to be fun and challenging. Whether you're 8 or 21 I would reccomend this game if you like platform style games and are looking for something interesting.

The Best 32-Bit Platformer

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 1 / 1

what do you get when you get the best aspects of RPGs, Platformers, and adventure games? you get Tomba, an open ended masterpiece. its filled with dozens of unique areas to explore and creatures to deal with. Packed with 130 quests, you'll be busy for hours, and they arent all necessary to finish the main game, many side quests and activities to keep you busy long after finishing the main story line.

Basically you play a wild cave-boy with pink hair, and you're trying to stop the evil pigs and their plot. yeah. pretty random = ].. theres tons of lore and backstory behind the world you explore, but in many cases you need to discover that for yourself, by talking to various friendly characters in towns and other areas you learn about them and pick up a quest or two along the way, this is where the open ended adventure comes in, the entire game world is streamlined and fully explorable, with only a short load time between certain areas, and more areas become available are you finish the quests. you can upgrade your health multiple times throughout the game, and you find new abilities and weapons very frequently.

as crisp, detailed, and colorful as a 32-bit platformer could be, Tomba looks and plays great for its time, its pure fun. this is the Mario of the 32-bit era. and thats saying a lot. a classic in the strongest sense of the word. its a shame how much you have to pay for a copy of this fantastic game anymore, but its worth every penny. 5/5

Pink-Haired Fun

From first sight of the pink-haired hero, you can tell this is no ordinary game! Tomba must save his land from the Evil Pigs that have invaded it. Along the way, he must collect important objects, rescue people and animals, and be sure to check every nook, cranny, and sign post, because there is always more than meets the eye. You must reach certain checkpoints to save the game, and be careful not to miss them! You will enjoy the colorful cartoonish scenery and the many characters you will meet along Tomba's quest. The game can be a bit confusing at times, and you can get turned around in the wrong direction, but otherwise is a comic quest in video games.

Another 18 year old who loves this game

Tomba is the single best game ever made for playstation. Though it seems outwardly childish, the game is Challenging, and hillarious. I had to download a 17 page strategy guide just to beat it. Seriously though, BUY THIS GAME! I have never played a better video game, and this provides hours of fun. I have had it for 2 years, and I have played it through at least 20 times, and it never gets old.

The best game ever!

I can say, in all honesty and truth, this is the best game I've ever played. Wheee! Tomba power! It's so addictive, I couldn't put it down once I picked it up! I mean, who couldn't love a green-pants wearin' pink-haired wild boy that goes around beating the crap out of evil pigs!! Yay! Buy this game! It's so rare to find these days, get it while you can!

mediocre, if anything

I have played tomba before and it just doesnt do anything for me. It is very confusing how whenever you meet somebody new, they assign you a new mission, even if your not finished with your old one, and you're never quite sure what you are supposed to be doing. Plus, the graphics are a strange combination of 2D and 3D. For example, near the beginning, there is a fence that you walk along. at one point, you can get on the other side of the fence, but you can only see tomba's head because the camera angle is parralell to the fence. Plus, the little pig guys are more of a plain old annoyance than true enemies. If you like strange games, you might like this one, but if you are a beginner or a hard core action gamer, like myself, you probobly won't like this game very much.

Great Game, bad price

This game is great, except for the fact that it is 2 years old. I mean, come on, this game already has a sequel out for it and it's still priced at 40 dollars. That's ridiculous! I guess I'll have to buy it at EBWorld or Best Buy
