Good, but nothing to be overexcited about

I'm certainly no big expert on video games, so the professionals who appraise "Tekken 2" will have to excuse me for not finding it so outsdanding it breaks any major barriers. The multitude of characters seems to alienate them from the gamer unless he gets very much involved into it and manages to familiarize himself with everyone. About the characters, I notice a distinct lack of creativity and ideas begin to be mixed up (see King - a puma in a blue shirt and tie? Excuse me, but is there something wrong with the picture?). Special moves are often repeated between characters, and, having a little fun with it, the ones that look the best always lose. It seems sort of sluggish and trivial overall, far from the fantastic premonitions that I've heard. The game does have a number of great features: first of all, the graphics are outstanding, better than I've seen in (literally) almost all other games, probably the best, and second of all, pretty responsive controls that nevertheless manage to bring you into the game. To make a long story short, "Tekken 2" is worth buying, but don't expect a revolution.

A really good fighting game

If you like fighting games this is one of the best I've tried. I like almost all of the charachters. . .Nina is my favorite. One nice feature is that you can pause it and bring up a list of the charachters moves.

This is a very good game for Playstation. u start with ten base characters who unlock ten others. There are three others u can unlock. There is no flaw to this game exept that the moves take a little time to figure out. this game does have a storyline, and a damn good too. This game also takes time to beat and get all ten characters. If you are a beginner u will take about 40 minutes to unlock characters. As u get the hang of u take less than a half hour. Well as i said this is a very good game. This is one of my favorites and i think u should try and u will probably like it. Thanks

Tekken 2 works for me!

Tekken 2 is so cool. My favorite people are Paul and Jack-2. Paul has an awesome elbow-hit-punch, but the best thing is when Jack-2...does this pro-wrestling pick you up, throw you down move. Law is the real choice for speed, but for power, Jack-2 or Paul. The gals on this game are fast! The best one is probably Nina. I wish Tekken 2 was like PC games where you can load people from newer games to older ones, because Gun Jack from Tekken 3 is so cool. He can shoot people with his gloves. That's my only complaint.

This is a good fighter and it's really cheap

Hey are you looking for a good fighter go ahead and buy it. This game is really something. First I will talk on playability

this game is really fun and not the hardest game to beat, it's actually pretty easy if thats the difficulty level you put it on. this game is cool there are sevrel moves that you can do and most are fairley simple if you practice them a few times. This game is the best after you playit a few times it gets even better also if you know the story line in the manual that makes it better as well. You get 8 guys to choose from and every time you beat the game with one of them you get a secret or new guy. the game is really great ....

The graphics are shaky and thats becouse it's an old game. It looks like they are composed of sevral plates esspecialy on jack-2. The game contains buitiful scenimatic or fmv scenes like the beggining intro and the scenes when you beat the game

Just buy it it's really cheap and really fun.

Tekken 2, is not that much different from your typical fighting game. There are plently of extra character, and beating the game with different characters gets you cool FMV's.

Still, sometimes the enemy can get too tough, but the battle graphics are good, and there are plenty of different modes, and attacks to keep anyone busy for awhile.

How Tekken 2 Measures Up

In all honesty, all of the Tekken games were a blast, from one all the way to four (only on arcade as of now). And like the others, Tekken 2 is a [kickin] game. Comparing it to other Playstation One games, however, leaves it lacking, but at best it only loses one star. The game play is rather slow compared to other fighting games and the players are not as agile. The graphics are excellent compared to it's predasessors but are nothing compared to it's sequal Tekken 3, which blows both it's prequals out of the water. Among specific complaints I have heard from avid game players are that the game is much more challenging than the others, King looks like a panzie in his shirt and tie, Kazuya is too hard to beat, and Paul's voice coupled with his lanky body size makes him seem like he's going through puberty. Whether these are real complaints or not is up to you. The only personal complaints I have are the time a character spends on the ground after being knocked down (a good 2-3 seconds), and how high the players jump on a high kick (enough to have a whole second of air time). But the game's positive aspects overshadow many of it's weaknesses. The background scenery is excellent and even comparable to Tekken 3. The characters have history, purpose, and are varied. The gameplay is revolutionary to it's date of release and and the character moves are well analogued according to their respected martial art. That is what makes this a four star game. Unless you started on Tekken 3, or Tag, it will impress you. I would definately recommend it for the very experiece.

This was the very first Tekken game that I had ever played. I first learned of the series back in '97 back at my cousin's house when we were having a family reunion... or something. He was the one who first introduced me to the series... & I can't say enough how happy I am that he introduced me to this amazing & wondering video game series. At the time I was addicted to Street Fighter (still am... sorta) & Mortal Kombat, but once I saw this game... I was hooked. I played the game with my mom for hours. I would constantly use the pretty & tall blonde woman (Nina) & the cute Japanese girl (Jun), while my mom would use the indian lady (Michelle). I had never (at the time) seen such amazing graphics. The characters were able to move fluidly & gracefully, while at the same time look absolutely stunning. I didn't know the name of the game (not until about 3 years later actually), but I still knew I would get it one day. After I bought Tekken 3 I realized that the game I had played at my cousin's was called Tekken 2... & that I had to get it. I went to the nearest store & bought it. There was only one left, so I was really lucky to get it when I did. I played it as soon as I brought it home. Even today, I still play Tekken 2 & love it. My 3 favorite characters are Kazuya Mishima, Jun Kazama, & Lee Chaolan. Buy this amazing 3D game... you won't regret it... ^_^

This is one of my favorite fighting games. It combines many forms of fighting. It goes from nujitsu and karate to street fighting and wrestling. With a large number of characters and moves, this game creates a realistic enviroment for fighters. The game has good graphics, and the music is some of the best. The one thing that seperates this game from the others is that there is no blood. Despite smashing blows and killer combos, not a drop of blood is shed. Also missing are the gory, often campy "fatalities". The game virtually has no way to kill anyone. The gameplay is outstanding due to the number and variety of moves. A cool feature is that you can unlock secret characters by beating the game. The combos, when done correctly, are a great force to be reckoned with-though they often can be tricky to perform-. I give this game five stars because it has good graphics, great music, smooth gameplay, and cool features, moves, and combos. Definitely a best among the best, worthy of a spot on every gamer's shelf.

Tekken 2 is a perfect translation of the arcade. TEkken 2 boasts a wide array of moves, combos, and counterattacks. Best thing is, you need skill to successfully finish the game. Unlike Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat games, Tekken 2 is a realistic, Down-to-earth game. Like real life, the charectars can't shoot fireballs out of thier hands, making the game more enjoyable. The game is also fair to begginers. During the game, press start and the game shows you all the moves for that certain charectar. This game is one of the best fighting games out there and I highly reccommed it. But, there is one thing I don't like about Tekken 2. THERE IS NO BLOOD OR GORE AT ALL!
