The Greatest Fighting Game Ever

Tekken 2 it the huge sequel to the best selling fighter, Tekken, this game includes advanced fighting and secret characters to die for. Not only theat, but it had a plethera of gameshark codes to make the game easier. this game also introduced the 10 hit combo, the automatic win. Namco© has done it again and they have done it with flying colors, this game is a must have for the fighting fans.

This game kicks [butt]!

If you have tekken 3 and are thinking about getting any other tekken games, tekken 2 is the best. it has awesome characters with just as many moves as 3. also check out the tekken animae movie (available at your local video store). tekken 2's characters are featured.

How Tekken 2 Measures Up

In all honesty, all of the Tekken games were a blast, from one all the way to four (only on arcade as of now). And like the others, Tekken 2 is a [kickin] game. Comparing it to other Playstation One games, however, leaves it lacking, but at best it only loses one star. The game play is rather slow compared to other fighting games and the players are not as agile. The graphics are excellent compared to it's predasessors but are nothing compared to it's sequal Tekken 3, which blows both it's prequals out of the water. Among specific complaints I have heard from avid game players are that the game is much more challenging than the others, King looks like a panzie in his shirt and tie, Kazuya is too hard to beat, and Paul's voice coupled with his lanky body size makes him seem like he's going through puberty. Whether these are real complaints or not is up to you. The only personal complaints I have are the time a character spends on the ground after being knocked down (a good 2-3 seconds), and how high the players jump on a high kick (enough to have a whole second of air time). But the game's positive aspects overshadow many of it's weaknesses. The background scenery is excellent and even comparable to Tekken 3. The characters have history, purpose, and are varied. The gameplay is revolutionary to it's date of release and and the character moves are well analogued according to their respected martial art. That is what makes this a four star game. Unless you started on Tekken 3, or Tag, it will impress you. I would definately recommend it for the very experiece.

This was the very first Tekken game that I had ever played. I first learned of the series back in '97 back at my cousin's house when we were having a family reunion... or something. He was the one who first introduced me to the series... & I can't say enough how happy I am that he introduced me to this amazing & wondering video game series. At the time I was addicted to Street Fighter (still am... sorta) & Mortal Kombat, but once I saw this game... I was hooked. I played the game with my mom for hours. I would constantly use the pretty & tall blonde woman (Nina) & the cute Japanese girl (Jun), while my mom would use the indian lady (Michelle). I had never (at the time) seen such amazing graphics. The characters were able to move fluidly & gracefully, while at the same time look absolutely stunning. I didn't know the name of the game (not until about 3 years later actually), but I still knew I would get it one day. After I bought Tekken 3 I realized that the game I had played at my cousin's was called Tekken 2... & that I had to get it. I went to the nearest store & bought it. There was only one left, so I was really lucky to get it when I did. I played it as soon as I brought it home. Even today, I still play Tekken 2 & love it. My 3 favorite characters are Kazuya Mishima, Jun Kazama, & Lee Chaolan. Buy this amazing 3D game... you won't regret it... ^_^

This is alot more than an updated version 2 Tekken. Ever1 has movies, 25 fighters, and The graphics and the movies r alot better than Tekken. I love combos, and big moves. My favorite three characters are Paul Phoeinx(He's da man, wit' da Phoeinx Smasher, Flame Fist, and all other moves) Devil/Angel:(Jes' like Kazuya, and fire lazers out their eyes) Lee Chaolan(da master of 3-4-5 hit combos, hard 2 lern but soon will git used 2 them) and Bruce Irvine(A kickboxer wit sum nice moves)

This game was da baddest till Tekken 3 came out, and people had more moves, but 3 of my favorite characters were missin', which was bad. Tekken 2 was a memorable hit

this is a fighting game you can't miss out on.

What really exites me about this game is the way the music is put together, i mean the music is very well coordinated and the sound effects and movement are very smooth. I would have to say that my favorite arena on this game is yoshimitsiu's forest level then kazuya's mirror domain. all in all the backgrounds and graphics are the best you can get for a psx game. Also this game delivers a somewhat sadness to it and the environments of the game prove it. This would have to be my most favored tekken game ever.

Tekken II Review

This game is a classic, and the best version overall in the series in my view. What I enjoy most is that there are some 'unbalances' within the game that make it challenging and give it a deep variety that you do not see in the more modern versions (which are trying too hard to make everyone 'equal' and 'fair', which is stupid and boring). I love Armor King (for example), and his double super knuckle bomb (waaa! unfair!), or doing his ten-hit and finishing with a super knuckle bomb (waaa!): Instant death. Other things like Paul having a reversal is loads of fun (one of the few in Tekken 2 that does), or Bruce Irving being limited by not having a 9 or 10 hit combo, but not needing them as he is a solid fighter without those. That's what makes playing Tekken 5 somewhat boring to me; everyone is so balanced it is like a chess game (pick a color, does not matter much). In the PC world, it would be similar to Supreme Commander versus Command and Conquer III: when you are ready for real strategy with artillery units that shoot 20 screens across and nuclear missiles that blow *everything* off the screen and beyond, buy Supreme Commander. Otherwise stay with 'rock paper scissors' type games that are 'safe and fair' (C&C 3, Age of Empires, StarCraft, ect...sad but true).
