Good game but way to short.

I am a Syphonfilter fan but when you play the first to you master the configuration pretty quick. And once mastered you pretty much breeze trough the game with out difficulty. And thats the problem with this game I finished the game it 3&1/2 hours and I was a bit dissapointed but that was just a minor set back to me. The action was pretty damn good and the story was good to but not a better storyline like part 2 was. If you are a fan get part 1,2&3 but don't get the OMEGA STRAIN that game sucked.

WHY CAN`T SAM OR GABE DO THE JOB?

thats GABE?-I know Sam was Sam fisher from the sh!!ty Splinter Cell games-it comes from metal Gear Solid 3:Subsistence where Solid Snake is complaining he doesn`t wanna do a mission-But unfortunatly they WEREN`T available-Sam Fisher couldn`t take down MESAL GEAR anyway but Logan could.
Solid Snake is always given hard mission when he wants to stay in Alaska with his dogs-of coarse Sam does a mission ever year but he was in operation "CHAOS THEORY" so Gabe shouldda done it.
Mr.47(from Hitman) could have been hired to slay Col.Volgin and the Boss.

LOL :)

This Game is Truly The Best Game For Ps1

Im gonna tell you once and im gonna tell you again there isnt a better game on ps1 then the Syphon Filter series. Especialy this game. Ive played all 3 Syphon Filters including the newest one. This one was the first one I played and I enjoyed it very much. This game is filled with so much action I couldnt believe it. In the first level you start out in a hotel and you get to sniper people across a building. Every single level in this game is just so freaken cool. Plus this time you get to play as a bunch of diffrent agents like Laurence Majuri, Terisa Lepan, and Lian Xing. The weapons have improved too. In this game you get a MIL-15 wich is a freaken cool explosive shotgun. You also get this really sweet x-ray gun wich can shoot through walls. The only thing that honestly dissapointed me in this game was the small amount of levels. Theres only 19 levels in this game. But of course the all new mini game option kept me pretty busy. I thought when I bought this game there was gonna be two discs but there is only 1. Hell there should of been 3! Anyway overall I think this game was just completely kick ass. Ive replayed this game so many times and I think anyone who likes the Syphon Filter franchise should have this game in there collection. I know we live in an age of playstation 2 now but you should still buy this game. Trust me you wont be dissapointed.

if i had to describe this game in two words, they would be: KICK ASS!! Im a biiig fan of SF for PSone and love all 3 of 'em. the setup for the controls is easy to master quickly, even shooting was made better (i think at least) than SF2 (syphon filter 2). the X-ray gun is by far the best weapon in the game. i mean...come on. who doesnt like a sniper rifle that can shoot thru walls.

this game is truly amazing

i felt as if i was playing ps2 when i first popped this great game in my playstation. the graphics are very nice and so is the game play. altough the game can be tricky for new players (lots of controls to rember). i give it five stars and say it is the best game for psone.

JUST ONE DISC!?

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 6 / 6

I finally got my hands on Syphon Filter 3 and I was little surprised (and disappointed) to open up its multi-disc case just to find ONE disc. Huh? I searched the case thoroughly, rifled through the instruction book and weapons guide, but nope, no other disc could be found. That's kinda misleading, isn't it? Especially after the previous Syphon Filter had two discs. Silly me, I expected to find at least two discs inside SF3. But whatever. The game is still great-and quite lengthy in spite of its single-disc limitations. It took me four hours just to get through one level (The Aztec Ruins) and that wasn't even the most difficult mission. That honor belongs to Gabe Logan's Afghanistan Flashback, which had me stomping my feet and screaming obscenities. (When the words "mission completed" finally appeared on the screen, I jumped up and danced-Wahoo!)

SF3 also has a feature that I hope is included with all future installments in the series: The Mini-Games. These are wonderful little missions that you can have fun with when you don't have time to immerse yourself in the Syphon Filter story. Each mission is limited to ten minutes and your able to do a variety of things with a variety of characters, including five different Gabes, two different Lians and even that worrisome Jason Chance-in his full-body armor-is available if you can stomach him. But the designers should've put the mini-games on a different disc, though. That way both the mini-games and SF3 could've been expanded. Lord knows there's plenty of room for another disc inside this case!

You'll also notice that the cut-scenes are different in SF3. The animation is more defined and the characters' mouths actually move when they talk. I didn't like this at first. I wanted the scenes to be the same as they were in parts 1 and 2, and I still think it was a mistake "improving" them this way. It lacks consistency. (And now Gabe looks like Harry Hamlin!) But I'm used to it now and I have to admit that the characters are more life-like, and the women are more beautiful-I never realized what a babe Mara Aramov is!

There are a lot of flashbacks in SF3. Too many flashbacks, if you ask me. This is because Gabe, Lian and others have been called in to give closed-door testimony on Syphon Filter and on the shadowy Agency that help procure it. Now why, I ask you, do Gabe and Lian agree to this? They're outlaws, remember? All during SF2, Government agents were trying to kill them left and right and now, suddenly, the outlaws are putting on their Sunday-best to go testify in Washington, D.C.? It makes no sense. But there they are and here come the flashbacks. You'll go all the way back to 1987, when Gabe first met Lian in Afghanistan, and even further with Lawrence Mujari (the guy that owns the Whispering Woods Mortuary) when he tells how he first encountered a "mysterious illness" in 1984, while as a freedom-fighter in Africa. These flashbacks provide excellent gameplay, of course, in a variety of settings-deserts, jungles, snowy mountains-but they don't advance the Syphon Filter story very much. There's one looooong flashback that takes place in Montana and I can't figure out what it has to do with anything! But by the end of the game, all loose-ends are tied up in a very satisfying knot. All, except one. I won't give anything away, but the door is left wide open for the fourth Syphon Filter, due out in October 2003. Man, I hope it's as good as the originals. And if it is, I hope they make plenty more!

Lets See...

This game is okay, but if you want something different, try another game. This game is basically a duplicate of 1 & 2. The worst part of this game is that it doesnt even follow a storyline. Gabe Logan is on trial and you're just acting out his flashbacks. Overall, this game is challenging, fun, but sometimes impossible and confusing. If you want to play this game, but want to spend less money, buy SF1 or SF2.

Good but not as good as the first two

I was thrilled when it came out for the playstation 1. The game seemed to be short and I wasn't too crazy about the shifting of time scenes, but then again it was telling a story. The action was nice as well as the new weapons. Problem is with a game as great as the syphon filter series, they didn't leave much room for a syphon filter 4. If they do, I would hope they stick to tradition and make it for playstation. Or perhaps they can keep the charactors and make a new series for playstation 2.

The Best Syphon Filter Game To Date!

By playing this game I have found that it is the best Syphon Filter game to date. Syphon Filter 3 is the best. It has a variety of weapons and more people to be. While in 2 player mode you can play as a monk, mad scientist, doctor, and many many other people. There are also some really great levels to explore. But you have to unlock many first. This is a very intense game and keeps you on your toes. In many ways it is better than Rainbow Six.
