Worst Game of 1999? Maybe but it does definetly $%^k!

The game that was hyped for about a year is a majordissappointment because of four reasons: 1)The game is too much likeRE and RE2. 2)The game is so violent that you miss the point. 3)The game is unoriginal, too much crap like it's supposed to be scary. 4)Are far as sound goes, it's not scary and the game is accually in a sense silly because it's just immature game that well, has no point!

This games just not any good and it would be cool to see YOU buy a quality title such as Theme Park(if you find it) Parappa the Rapper and Um Jammer Lammy. Also, if you want a frightful strategy game, you might want Echo Night(maybe). Just don't be RE3! DONT BUY IT AT ALL BECAUSE RE3 ISNT LIKE THE OTHERS! Crash Bandicoot also!

The original resident evil game was ground breaking and innovative. Unfortuanateley when something is well made and original there is always a danger of sequels designed to make money on past glories. Sure the game is smoother than the original but the jerky character movement in the first game was part of the appeal. This game isn't original any more it has run out of surprises and the puzzles are starting to get really tedious. The only people who would enjoy this game are the zombies in it!!! dont waste your cash

[ not good]

Not to offend any die-hard Resident Evil fans or anything... but this game is just a waste of time. The only really good one in this series is the Director's Cut version... at least that was LONGER. And it was hella challenging. If you want a good game, your best bet is either Parasite Eve or Silent Hill.

THIS GAME IS OVER BEFORE YOU CAN ENJOY IT!

FIRST OF ALL THIS GAME IS FAR INFERIOR TO THE FIRST 2 INSTALLMENTS, IT IS SO EASY THAT I BEAT IT THE SAME DAY I BOUGHT IT. THE GRAPHICS HAVE NOT IMPROVED AT ALL FROM RE2 AND THE STORY LINE IS SHORT AND INCONCLUSIVE. THE CREATORS HAVE ALSO RAN OUT OF IDEAS FOR NEW WEAPONS, SO JILL VALENTINE HAS THE SAME WEAPONS SHE HAD IN THE FIRST GAME. I THOUGHT SEQUALS WERE SUSPOSED TO BE ABOUT PROGRESS, THIS GAME PLAYS MORE LIKE REGRESSION. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN RESIDENT EVIL 2 AND RESIDENT EVIL 2 SHOULD HAVE BEEN RESIDENT EVIL 3. THERE IS LESS VIOLENCE IN THIS GAME! THE MERCENARY MISSION IS SHORT AND THE REWARDS ARE NOT NEW TO THE RESIDENT EVIL WORLD (IE. GATLING GUN, ROCKET LAUNCHER) AND THE NEMISIS IS SIMPLY A SLIGHTLY MORE PERSISTENT VERSION OF THE TYRANT (TYRANT MEETS SCICCORMAN). IF YOU ENJOYED THIS GAME THAN YOU MUST NOT HAVE PLAYED THE FIRST TWO. THIS SERIES HAS LOST ITS IMPACT.

It was just....OK

I like Resident Evil just as much as the next guy, but this one is more of a side story than another game. You visit many places that you visited in R.E.2 and a few new ones. I can't say this one was a scary as the first two, but it will make you jump every now and then. Overall an okay game, but wait for Resident Evil: Code Veronica on Dreamcast for a true sequel!

too much and yet its not good

I bought Resident Evil 2 for the Playstation about 2 years ago. I loved it but man was it hard! i played it to death trying to beat it. after a couple of months I bought Resident Evil 1:Directors Cut...now this game was not bad. It had more puzzles than action which was ok but the thing that REALLY caught me was this game was scarier than RE2! It took place in a creepy old house that was big and grim. It seemed more like a horrer movie than Resident Evil 2. (Both games MUST have a stratagy guide, they are really tough)

I got RE 3 for Christmass and popped it in... WOW! the first thing I saw was an awesome opening movie. I was overjoyed. As I started playing, I really got into it. It has great sound, great control, great graphics...but the game is not that great... It offers a TON of replay because there are places where you can make decisions (set the plot in a different derection) but I think this game offers so much, its overwhelming. Especially after playing both of its predicessors. Playing on easy is good, but you get barely any herbs, so you're always dying. On easy there are TONS of guns and ammo so thats not a problem. But the "NEMISES" sucks. If you beat him, you get a prize, but beating takes away too much ammo and too much health because he is always TOO HARD! and the story really has no plot. (city is overrun by zombies). the puzzles are so unrealistic and dumb (and some are just frustrating), there are too many badguys... too many surprise attacks, too many endings that require you to play the game a million times, too much gorror (so much, its rediculous), a bimbo main character (come on, a female with a short short skirt and a purse is saving the city?), too many encounters with Nemises, too many requsites for getting post-game rewards (save 7 times to get rocket launchers or something), too many plot twists, to many locations, very annoying when you wanna travel back to the beggining of a level, rediculous "items pouch", too many rewards (find the files in a certain order, beat the game in 2 hours, make all the "right" desisions), too much replay (the game gets old), too unrealistic (zombies take out a whole s.w.a.t. team but fail to kill one lady), and the game is too linear... PHEW! is that enough for you? Overall, dont buy this game, its too overwhelming and frustrating.

Totaly Disapointing........

This is definetly a misleading title, it's more like Resident Evil 2.5. I mean looking at the improvment between RE1 and RE2, this thing is more like a side story. In fact it should have been the third disc in RE2, then there would be Jill, Claire, Leon. I did enjoy nemesis, he certinely scared the heck out of me every now and then, plus you have that added preasure while playing the game that hes stalking your every move. But I mean come on, the story takes place at the same place at the same time, when I firsted played the game I was like "Haven't I played this before?" The worst thing was the lack of story, after completeing both Claire and Leon discs in RE2, I was expecting more secrets & lies with the whole umbrella conspisy, and a rule of a trilogy is going back to the begining (Jill) and finding out something that wasn't true in the first place, but I didn't get diddly squat. And the whole thing just got repetitive without the story to drive me to find out what happens in the end. I really wish I had a Dreamcast so I could enjoy Code Veronica, the true Resident Evil 3.

Eh?

Back in 1996, Capcom introduced both Japanese and Americans gamers a brand-new world of videogaming. Despite the rather awkward name of "Resident Evil", which is just plain out laughable, the title has become a household name. This movie-like, horror series can be written down as a new genre of gaming, horror. Yeah, very few games caused gamers to devastatingly sob (Aeries' funeral in Final Fantasy VII), some games built mystery or suspense (Gray Fox's desperate attack and impressive dialogue in Metal Gear Solid), but Resident Evil led the player to leap in fright or frantically jitter. Capcom inserted blood-thirsty zombies as the adversary, and the player's fear as the biggest opposition. In a sense, it is a movie. Useless to say, Resident Evil was among the titanic series that landed on the Sony PlayStation. The original game presented an amazing surface. However it suffered from terrible voice acting and a somewhat dull story. Capcom extremely went hard at work for their sequel. Powerful hype erupted when Resident Evil 2 was announced. Anxious gamers couldn't wait to get their grubby paws on a copy. Resident Evil 2 altered the gaming industry. Other home console companies decided to cash in while the genre was sizzling hot. Konami cashed in with Silent Hill. Survival/Adventure games went mainstream. After RE2 respectfully lived, a third installment was introduced, this time hype was scarce. It came out too quickly and sources claimed the interface was going to be identical as the other two. Fearing the worst, the third installment seemed to be a horrible move for Capcom. And is. From the experience of the two Resident Evil games, the player may expect the "scare moments." While playing on a big screen t.v., with surround sound, the volume almost reverberating the room, and a sudden pack of grunting zombies crashing out a window, I felt no fear. Amateurs to the Resident Evil series may have a chill ride their spine, but original fans will expect each scare attempt. Though few changes have been added, RE3 fails to take a leap over the original Resident Evil 2. In other words just imagine playing Resident Evil 2 but with more rooms and more puzzle solving. RE2 is the strongest and most remembered in the series. When catching a glimpse of RE3, excitement was absent. RE3 seems it brought the entire series in shame. The story must take a new direction! Like taking a role of an umbrella agent, or the T-Virus spreading somewhere else than Racoon City. Nemesis, a ferocious, mean, bazooka- equipped devil who hunts the player, proves to be a pathetic antagonist and challenge. The minigames granted after beating the game bring little life at the game's abrupt end. The slogan, "if the Suspense doesn't kill you, then something else will," lives truly in the second game.

Dont let the evil #3 in the title fool you...

This game is by no means a worthy sequel. It could by an excellent side story, yes. But a full sequel?, that makes me laugh all the way to the ground. The beginning FMV shows millions of zombies attacking raccoon city. the game itself has only about 50 zombies througout the whole entire game. The story sucks, too. Who is NEMESIS> what is his point in the story? The voices are terrible too. In real life, you wouldnt bob your head and sway your harms if your talking like in your normal everyday life, unless you just had no emotion whatsoever (voic wise). The violence in this game is very minimal, by this I mean that you spend more time looking at doors opening than actaully getting a glimpse at a zombie. If you do run into a zombie, it is usually NEMESIS destroying you while you were just tryiong to explore the city. This can be frustrating, because he chases you almost everywhere you go, exploring or not. This game is by no means for little kids. I would suggest it to a 13 yr old who wouldnt be petrified by the introductory cinematic... The only good thing about the game is the smooth backgrounds and the nice FMV's. The controls are the most frustrating thing that walked the earth(exept for the fear meter in FEAR EFFECT that lets you die in two hits).
