This game is awesome. There's a large variety of weapons available to you and the controls are great. Plus, for less than a buck this game is worth it.

This game is for any racing game fan from novice, to professional. If you want the ability to listen to the best music on any racing game; the ability to customize your own car, and make it into the top six racers then this game is for you. I personally recommend this game to anyone who wants to play something worth your time, personally I'd play it again and again myself. As far a namco and any other racing game this is and I quote: "The best of the best, period."

The finest racer Namco ever made.

What makes a great racing game? Good graphics (with tons of polygons and graphical effects)? Good music (the latest greatest band blasting in your ears)? Good controls (some new-fangled contraption that supposedly makes the game control oh-so-much better)? In my humble opinion, NO. Those things may make a game sell. They may even make it memorable. But in order to be GREAT...

There are some games that DEFINE what a game of their genre should be. What Raiden is to a shooter, and Mario is to a platformer. One of the games that define racing games as a whole is this masterpiece. Namco has made many racing games. Ridge Racer, Ridge Racer Revolution, Rage Racer, and Ridge Racer Type Four that I can think of. But the best of all of these is Rage Racer. Granted, the graphics may be old, they may have glimmery re-draw, pop-up, and seams between sections of road. But the graphics have STYLE. When you drive past that waterfall, and over those paved stones, when the TIME OF DAY changes in an instant from day to sunset to night, it's simply incredible. There are only four tracks (and they are all variations on the same track), but those tracks are PERFECT. You can race them over and over and over and never get tired of them. The controls may be digital, but man are they great. And the music is the best of what makes a Namco game a Namco game.

All in all, this game is essential to those who consider themselves serious racing game fans. And at the price it's going for now it'd be criminal not to own it.

Souvenirs!!!
