Medievil was a really cool game. Even my mom liked it! This game is so cool. If you have the money for this game, you should get it.
Very complex, but very entertaining.

Graphics: 7/10 - A bit unclear in places but you can definitely see how much effort when into making these creatures look fabulous and making the towns look realistic.
Sound: 9/10 - The best thing about this game! The sound is thunderous and fabulous, it literally takes you into the times of MediEvil!
Value: 7/10 - You won't play this game much if you not really willing to be very strategic, but it's definitely worth the money for a few weeks entertainment.
Overall: 7/10 - MediEvil 2 is intelligent, entertaining and is put together nicely, it's very worth playing but only if you have the time to solve all the complex problems.
Another solid performance!

Picking up where the first left off once again we join the fight. I haven't gotten very far in this game but I can see that it is pretty much like the first. Decent graphics and humor surround you and a nice plot line is unfolding. Definately worth the bargain price.
Better than Medievil

Although some of the other reviews here say that some of the good things from the first Medievil were not preserved in the second, I disagree. Dan's voice is in a different and less humorous character, but the gameplay and feel has improved. The camera is easier to manipulate, and some of the jumps are frustrating because an automatic camera perspective takes over in mid-jump. The trick is to already have the camera in that position before you jump. The music is very well done and sounds like Danny Elfman's. This game also progresses more rapidly than the first. The disappearing life fountains are not such a setback--you may have to do a level more than once so that you finish with more life. This isn't really a hassle because the levels go very quickly once you have already solved them. My biggest complaint is that the game is too easy. I finished it rather quickly. Perhaps I am just a seasoned gamer, but I want more. If the life fountains had been reuseable, the game would have been FAR too easy.
All in all, if you liked the first game, you will like the second one.
Dan's back!

For those of you that have already experienced Sir Dan Fortesque in Medievil, you won't want to miss the sequel. Like most sequels, especially in the movies, there is more of the same with just a few more twists. Is it an improvement over the original...no, but it is still alot of fun.
Medevil II has a few advancements...like Dan can now play different ways (he actually takes his skull off and puts it in a hand so he can search small areas) but the basics are the same. The various worlds that he visits are not as "medievil" as before and may not be as original but you meet quite a few new advesaries and run into a few familiar ones as well. There are better weapons and you learn a few new moves early on in the game. The bad news is that there is STILL a problem with the camera angles however, it will not deter from the game that much and is viewed mostly as an inconvenience. Load times are tolerable and the overall graphics seem smoother and the backgrounds as usual, are great. The game instills humor, even though old boney Dan doesn't even have a jaw to use, he still manages to murmer and grunt in all the right places. The only really irritating thing in the game is the spectral ghost that helps you along the way. For some reason he sounds like an English/Irish version of Curly (3 stooges). He gets old real fast and unfortunately, you can't really avoid him. The voice acting and sound effects are good (well except for that spectral dude) and the music is also well done. The game moves along at a quick pace (although it is somewhat short) and is appropriate for kids since there isn't that much gore or violence. Also, the control is easy to pick up and simple to use for kids and adults alike.
Overall, if your looking for fun, entertaining and user-friendly game, pick up Medievel II. And as the spectral ghostie dude would say "you woint be disappointed"
ROCKS!

For once, I feel that I am the only correct person to review this game. I can't understand how anyone could think that this game isn't as good as the first. It's got better graphics, sound, storyline, characters, weapons, levels, puzzles, and humour than the first. You people just bring up flaws that either don't exist, or ones nobody will even care about or won't notice. The only flaw I ever noticed in the game was the controls because they did cause a noticable hindrace to my enjoyment of the game, Everything else was fine! Other stuff like fall damage was added for a small dose of reality. If you fell 20 off a balcony, you would get severly injured too! In my opinion; sequels should be considered worse if they do a bad job at what the first one did good at. Medievil 2 takes all the strengths of the first game and improves upon them significantly. It even has plenty of improvements like the Dan-hand ability and the Dan-kenstein mode. Also, unlike the first game, the atmosphere varies. The atmosphere of the first game was the same throughout, making the levels seem the same. Medievil 2 has a differen't atmosphere for each level. Sometimes a nice action atmosphere, other times a dark, gothic atmosphere. The atmosphere is helped by the incredibly great music! Seriously! I could not tell whether it was composed or synthesized. Overall, if you were expecting more from Medievil, then get Medievil 2. And for God's sakes! Think carefully and have some integrity when you judge it at the end!
Medievil 2 is awesome!

In Medievil you get a lot of weapons. In Medievil 2 you get a ton of weapons. My favorite gun is the Gatiling Gun (high-power machine gun), my favorite sword is the Magic Sword. You can also get bombs. It's also a lot tougher to beat Medievil 2 than Medievil. They are both great games.
More fun than you can shake a stick at!

Entertaining plot, fun and detailed graphics, tough puzzels and each level offers different creatures and terrain to go up against. It should be madatory for all video game developers to have to play Midevil I and II beforer making a new game. Although I did like Midevil I better than two, I still think they are two of the best walkthrough style games on the market for any gameing system available. Unlike many of my reviews - I HIGHLY suggest the purchase of this game.
