The best boxing console game ever

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 20 / 23

I have been a boxing fanatic for 16 years and have played every boxing game. The only game prior to Knockout Kings 2000 that gave me a real feeling of being in the ring was 4D Boxing for the PC. I bought the first KNockout Kings with great anticipation but was dissapointed by the gameplay. For one thing you could not throw a left hook unless you were inside in which case the jab button turns into the hook button. Plus the computer decided which hand you would throw the punch with. Also the movement of the fighters was very choppy and tough to control. I only mention these weaknesses because Knockout 2000 KOs all of them! The game is fluid, each punch has its own button and the controls are perfect. I tip my hat to the devopers for truly imroving on the first game. As for the clod who could this boring and Ready to Rumble a better game, I suggest that when you become an adult you may see that this game is far superior because unlike Ready to Rumble you have to think and thus it never gets boring. In fact the more I played the better it got because you become more accustomed to the controls.

Knockout Kings 2000 a must for fight fans!

This is one of the best boxing games I have ever played. The most remarkable aspect of the game is the attention paid to detail when recreating actual fighters. From Larry Holmes' punishing jab to Earnie Shaver's power, but lack of stamina, this game is a must for any boxing fan who has ever wondered how your favorites would have matched up.

EA Sports KOs the competition with "Knockout Kings 2000"

A very solid second effort by EA Sports with their sequel to the original "Knockout Kings." KOKings 2000 offers many inprovements over the original KOKings. Generally the graphics are better, more detailed. Also, the movement of the fighters is more fluid and realistic. For example, when you're on the verge a knocking your opponent down, often you'll see his mouthpiece go flying. Also, the venues are more detailed and realistic. To me , this is important but the "big fight" atmosphere really adds to the realism. Caesar's Palace looks just like the real thing--you can even see the hotel in the background! Unfortunately, Madison Sqaure Garden, the MGM Grand, and other "Big Time" boxing venues are missing this version. Another big improvement is the addition of "Classic Fight" mode. Want to re-fight the "Thrilla in Manilla?" You can here. The only negative is that the fight takes place in the "EA Sports Arena" rather than the original venue, Quezon City Sports Arean. This is true of all the fights in the "Classic Fight" mode. And some classic fights are totally missing--what happened to the "Rumble in the Jungle" (Foreman vs. Ali, 1974). This is one of the greatest fights of all time yet its missing. Must have been a licensing issue with Foreman--he's one of the few big-time heavyweights that's not included in this game. All in all, a good solid effort by EA Sports, great for the serious boxing fan who wants a GOOD BOXING SIMULATION WHICH INVOLVES SOME ACTUAL STRATEDGY

Attention Boxing and Fighting Game Fans: This is for you!

Quite simply the funnest boxing game I have ever seen, Knockout Kings 2000 mixes the enjoyment of video fighting games with the realistic look of real boxing. The action is much more fluid than previous games, and the creators have nailed the fighters' styles. An added treat is the option to relive great fights like the "Thrilla in Manilla," where you can choose to try to relive history or rewrite it. Highly enjoyable.

Great Boxing Game

This is probably the best boxing game to date that I've played. The controls took me a few days to get used to, but the interactive training in career mode really helped me along. You really have to think differently against each opponent, capitolize on their weakness, and constantly change your attack.

BEST BOXING GAME YOU'VE EVER PLAYED!

KO Kings is 10.0 escpially the rap tunes on entrances and in general. My favorite parts are signature moves and creating a boxer. I only have 2 complaints; the crowd could use some work & the the boxers hands go through their opponents when they punch them. But who cares? Overall, I think KO Kings 2000 is the best game I've ever played!

Awsome

If you liked KO Kings you will love KO Kings 2000. There are more classic fighters to choose from, the game is more challenging than the original KO Kings, and the career mode lets you create a fighter, train him, and work him up to a level where he is able to challenge the great fighters of all time. Fighters move much more fluidly in this game and the sound effects are much improved as well. All time great fighters such as Ali and Frazier are recreated perfectly and this adds to the games realism. Classic fights mode allows you to take part in one of 9 of the top fights of all time. This game never gets boring, its alot of fun.

This is the first Knockout Kings game that I have bought and it was initially on the strength of controlling Muhhamed Ali, but I have found this to be an entertaining and challenging game. I especially like the career mode, where you can build you boxer from scratch. Here's a hint try and distribute as evenly as possible amoungst the attributes, because they all come in handy. Re--creating the old time fights and the ability to control sucj stars and Lennox Lewis and Rocky Marciano are a treat for any boxing fan. This rating system alotted me only 5 stars but I would give it a 10!

the best boxing game that i ever played! fighters look real and so do the punches. my only complaint is that they left a couple of actual knockout kings off the game. such as-mike tyson, tommy hearns, nigel benn, and george foreman.

One of the funnest sports games EVER.

This is one of the funnest games I've ever played, period. When I first got it, my friends and I played for 4 straight hours. Career mode is awesome, making you think and actually know something about boxing. My only complaint.... where's George Foreman, Mike Tyson, and Nazr Hamed? All and all this game is a MUST BUY for any boxing afficionado.
