Jump into Fun!

This video game, part of the original lineup for the PlayStation One, helped bring forth a whole new angle on the platformer genre. The PlayStation One brought forth 3D games... and Jumping Flash made the look of 3D feel completely awesome.

Essentially, the player controls a superpowered mechanical Rabbit, armed with rocket boosters, lazers and immensely strong bunny legs. The real awe of the Jumping Flash experience (especially after playing only 2D games for years) is when you fully unleash the power of the legs and literally jump miles into the air - then use your rocket booster to sustain speed and altitude. From the air the rabbit could fire off missiles and lazers or carrot shaped grenades. I remember quite clearly it was immense fun and dazzlingly fresh - each area was huge and had something unique about it. It even had a good soundtrack! I rented this like 7 different times from the store.

Jumping Flash is, without a doubt, a fun, innovative classic. One of the key titles to usher in 3D games alongside Ridge Racer and Tekken One.
