This game is very interesting. I never played Warcraft 2 for more than 30 minutes before I bought it. I really got into it. But then you play the second race. They are the same. If you want to play this and Starcraft. Play StarCraft second, so then you won't find this one at times mundane. Yet it still gets kudos from me. Just play Tides of Darkness and Beyond the Dark Portal with your favorite LOOKING race. Take into consideration the annoying Orc voice. Still good. Does not need to rely on graphics.
GREAT GAME !!

This game is great. If you have surround sound this game is even better, than. The graphics are okay, but the game mostly rely on it's game play for it's popularity. The best thing about this game is the online battles, I love to battle online againest players all over the world. I still think that the human race need some better fighters though. after all, this is a good game. If you haven't played yet try it. Yes, this game is like starcraft, excepted it uses swords instead of guns.

This is perhaps one of the best games of all time. The gameplay is well-balanced and simple, but the game is suitable for all skill levels. If you are interested in Real-Time Strategy but don't want to spend too much money, this is a great starter game. It does lack a few features of newer strategy games, but the improvements made from the original version make it almost as good as Starcraft (another excellent game all genre newbies should consider getting). The graphics are dated, but considering that the original game came out in 1995, they are impressive. This was not the Game of the Year of 1995 for no reason. Even if you already have Warcraft 2, consider buying this for Battle.net alone. At 8.99, it's definitely worth the multiplayer social and gaming experience. Everyone should own this game.
Best Game Ever- period!

Warcraft2 is an awesome game that has been around a lomg time...a classic. While some say that its graphics are aging, I love the undetailed, squat Orcs, among other things. Welcme to the World of Warcraft!!!
An all-time classic.

This is an old game, and it continues to entertain me for hours. Sometimes its age shows, with poor pathfinding (when you try to send units across the map, they can get stuck in trees), and with basically one race (orc and human are pretty much the same, only orc is better). However, none of these shortcomings matter, because the gameplay is better than any other game I've played, even if there is only one race and a lack of conveniences like rally points and such.
I'm probably making a lot of people not want to get this game with this review, or more likely no one cares about this review, but I'll just reassert that the multiplayer in this game brings me the most enjoyment I've ever had when it comes to video games.

I have a lot of old strategy games, such as starcraft, total annihalation, aoe 2, and I have frequently played AOE 1. I have to say that, this game might seem a little cartoony, or really cartoony at first, but later, you will figure out that it's a really great strategy game. Drawbacks are that, 1. it may seem cartoony. 2. there are only two diferent races. and 3. it may seem to have horrible graphics, because it is an old game.
All in all it is a great, old strategy game, thus recieveing four stars.
I've played many blizzard games

I've played Starcraft, Warcraft, Diablo, and many other blizzard games. I think that Blizzard makes some of the best software games ever. (There PS version of Warcraft wasn't as good as the computer one) :). I do like the battle.net idea that they came up with except for the fact that i got disconnected in a game on Starcraft that was on for 2 hours and still going. But seriously Blizzard makes some great games and Warcraf is one of them. One bad thing about Warcraft is Kiddish Graphics.

I think this a great game because: 1. You can choose what you want to be (orcs, humans) 2. The game has a plot and is relatively long and difficult 3. You can play against real people on line or you could play your freinds threw a phone line
Great RTS Game

I don't own this game, but have played it in school. I haven't played the campaign missions, but have played multiplayer almost everyday for 2 months. The graphics are dated, but that isn't where the fun is. For me it is the fast paced-ness of the game that keeps me hooked. Unlike most RTSs I have played, each misson doesn't have to take an hour and a half to complete. If you know how to build, it can take you 5 minutes to defeat a game aginst a single computer opponent. You can also build crazily, and go like that, or you can develop a strategy and either way, you stand a chance of winning.
My suggestion for those just starting: 1 build your hall and 4 or five farms while cranking out peons/pesants like crazy. Then build 3 barracks and make another town near another gold mine. Don't stop building peons unless you are running out of money.
