Okay, I enjoy Tombraider! I have played the first and finished it...And I really liked it...it was very exciting! The second's graphics! Way better than the first, Like always! But what I can't figure out is why do they create games, and the graphics are not as good in the first try, yeah yeah I know, that times change and new things come out, but tombraider 2's graphics, compared to the third SUCKED! The running threw the water, with ripples,GREAT! WHY NOT DO IT IN THE FIRST PLACE! And the thing with the dead guys, you shoot them ontop of something, they fall dead and their bodies are sticking out in the air..if they can, or did, when you shoot a guy from off a roof, and he falls near the edge and half of his body is sticking out from the roof, let him fall! Make it a little realistic! Please! And if they do! CONGRADULATIONS! How about the size of the furniture compared to LARA...Okay that was weird..... Lara could bath in the sink and her bath tub could be her pool! And the bad guys are triple the size of her! Theirs hands are the size of her head! Please! I Do like the game and looking foward to others, I think tombraider 2 is a great game! The story line is good, but hey, there's gliches in everyhing... Try the game if you like role playing games, cause it is COOL! LARA CROFT ROCKS!

I played Tomb Raider Gold before I picked up Tomb Raider II, so I was used to the quick loading and fluid response from commands of the Gold edition of Tomb Raider I. Even so, Lara is still a kick and the game is fun.

still one of the best

although the graphics may be dated, the story stoopid, and the play pretty much unchanged, this remains one of the best games i have done. the layouts are appealing ( tibetan monastery, venice, floating islands, deck, etc.), the movements are still the most fluid and graceful of any computer game i have seen, and, most important, it's a challenge. even though i got through the game without help, i needed a guide to get all secrets. try doing the whole game, dragon included, with only pistols and, at the same time, using no medipacks. it took weeks, as compared to exile, which took 4 days. another good thing is that it requires few keys to play and runs perfectly on my imac. this is now available priced low and is well worth it. note: my imac has memory of 256, and tr2 loads very quickly.
dont buy this; buy the trilogy. it's got the five levels of gold, better movies and cut scenes, and costs the same.

A great mix of strategy and action

This is a great game, plain and simple. The graphics may be a little behind the times, but it doesn't detract from the gameplay. It is challenging, but not overly so, and will take weeks of work to finish. There is more to the game than an overly-endowed heroin.

Tomb raider 2 is a great sequal to the original! Lara Croft's house has been added on to (now there is even more things to explore),the graphics have improved, and there is a whole new story line. All the way from the Great Wall of China to the Tibetian Foothills you'll be duking it out with tigers, angry doberman, blood thirsty spiders, ravenous birds, and pesky little rats. Oh yeah, did I mention missionary's who aren't about to invite you over for a cup of tea. Of course, you will have guite a large arsinal of deadly weapens to help you on your way. Well, there's nothing left to say but Good Luck!

A Rare Case of a Sequal Beating an Original

From the Great Wall of China to the canals of Venice, Tomb Raider II is the rare case in which a sequel is better than an original. In fact, I find this game to be my favorite of the series. In it the legendary Lara Croft sets out to find the Dagger of Xion. In her quest she navigates the globe, and even takes a couple of trips to strange and magical new worlds.

Tomb Raider II offers significant improvements over the original, and its game play exceeds the other games that follow in the series. The game has drastically overhauled weapons and artificial intelligence. Though the puzzles are not as hard as later versions, they still are quite difficult. Lara has new moves, many new weapons, and more dangerous foes. What more could a Tomb Raider fan - or even the casual gamer - ask for?

I highly recommend this game, whether you are an avid Tomb Raider fan or somebody new to the series. I don't believe you will be disappointed - in fact, you will probably find many hours of action filled entertainment. And if you do enjoy it, I strongly recommend other games in this series.

New Nostalgia

"From the waterways of Venice to the icy mountains of Tibet, from the depths of the Atlantic to the hidden bowls of the Great Wall..." This game, where the player takes the role of archaeologist Lara Croft, offered the most interesting puzzles, scariest traps, and breath-taking atmosphere of all the notorious Tomb Raider series. Our heroine is seeking the ledgendary Dagger of Xian, hidden under the emperor's tomb in China. Based on real scriptures from the first Chinese dynasty over 2000 years ago, the emperor's tomb conceals a secret, parallel world, which, if lara acheives her goal, she will enter. But lara is not the only one who wants the Dagger. The evil mafiosa Marco Bartoli is after the prize. It is said that to plunge the dagger into your heart will give you the power of the Chinese dragon. This is what Bartoli wants, for, with this power, he could potentially rule the world. And this is what Lara is willing to stop at nothing to avoid.
The trail of her nemisis, and her quest for the dagger, lead lara to Venice, Tibet, the Atlantic ocean, and the hills of China. I especially enjoyed the vehicles available to Lara. Driving the snowmoble over the parilous chasams in the tibetan Foothills was challenging and aweinspiring. Facing off against sharks, electric eels, mafiosa, and even giant spiders, scared me so much that at one point I literally fell backward out of my chair I jumped so much! The graphics are improoved, and Lara now sports a flowing braid, instead of the short knot of hair in Tomb Raider 1.
Graphics, scenary, puzzles...all is the greatest in this game. A must-have for Tomb Raider veterans and newbies alike.
